Abstract:For the short circuit fault of turbogenerator rotor winding, the electromagnetic characteristics of the fault were firstly analyzed. After the short circuit fault occured, the even number of fault characteristic harmonics appear in the excitation magnetomotive force. In order to further consider the influence of short circuit position, magnetic saturation, generator working condition, motor cogging and other factors, a finite element model was established to simulate a variety of fault conditions, and the air gap radial magnetic density changes under different fault conditions were obtained. The harmonic analysis results show that the harmonic content of air gap radial magnetic density changes is related to the phase and fault slot position. The even harmonic component of the radial magnetic density of the air gap will cause the circulating current in the parallel branch of the stator, and the content and phase of circulating current harmonic in the parallel branch is related to the position of the fault slot. Based on this, a non-invasive fault detection and location method was proposed by virtue of the amplitude and phase information of the circulating current harmonic of the parallel branch of the stator, which can detect and accurately locate the short circuit fault in any slot of the rotor online, to ensure the long-term safe and stable operation of the turbine generator.
