Abstract:The high pressure sodium lamp which belongs to the third generation electric light source and its electronic ballast is one of the most popular research subjects.This paper mainly introduces the design and the research on the characteristics of a 400V/600W HPS electronic ballast,and tells the way to design the system,including Power Factor Correction,Half Bridge Inverter,ignition and so on.It also shows some analysis on the Acoustic resonance problem and finally gives the test wave forms.
