Abstract:This paper is an introduction to the book Landscape Architecture: The Profession and Education. This book is so far the most comprehensive collection of writings about the profession and education of landscape architecture. The collected papers are some classical writings by some of the world renowned LA educators, including Hideo Sasaki, Carl Steinitz, as well as by some of the Chinese professors from mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The editors called for a revolutionary breakthrough in the profession of landscape architecture in China, in terms of practice and education.
