Abstract:This paper presents the history of legislation on American landscape architects licensure law by dividing the processes into three stages, and analyses their backgrounds, causes and genetic features. It introduces the seven main compositions of the state statutes on landscape architects licensure law, which are definitions, committee, practice sphere, penalty, eligibility requirements, reciprocal licensure and exemptions. Finally, it analyses the basic rules of American landscape architects licensure law, and suggests that the process of founding licensure system of landscape architects in China should be accelerated.
