Abstract:The development and innovation of lighting equipments not only helps designers of illuminating on the scene have more choices,achieve better lighting effects,but also substantially increases the comprehensive energy efficiency of lighting equipments.However,The development and innovation of every kind of product not only bring all the advantages,sometimes also bring some shortcomings or even some obvious shortcomings of the hidden dangers.Based on this,the standards of lighting electrical products also will be continuously modified,enriched and improved.Some new testing requirements and devices of lighting equipments have come into being.The author mainly introduces the test devices for high-voltage pulse of ignitor,testing devices for pulse of ballasts for lamps with overall activating devices and testing devices for the partial rectification of pulse of electronic ballast for fluorescent lamps,for reference.

Abstract:The article introduces the requirements and principium of insulation resistance test and electric strength test of international/domestic LED luminaires and controlgears for LED.It analyses the test class of insulation resistance and electric strength between live parts of different polarity of luminaires which use LED control gear.The paper introduces the supplementary requirements of insulation resistance test and electric strength test of LED luminaires and control gears for LED with dimming terminals.It also introduces the requirements of standards for lighting equipment for high-voltage test equipment.

Abstract:This paper introduces a novel ballast for Metal Halide Lamp (MHL) which is controlled by digital control strategy.It consists of power factor correction circuit ,Buck converter and inverter. Constant current and constant power strategies are used in ballast based on C504 .The transfer functions and design steps of system are demonstrated ,and PI regulator is used for its good dynamic and static performance .This control algorithm is realized by look-up table for its high efficiency. The experimental result demonstrates the prototype has good dynamic and static performance,higher efficiency(92%),higher power factor(0.997),and low THD(5.6%)

Abstract:In recent years, Chinese government has published many subsidy policies for photovoltaic power, such as "BIPV" "Golden Sun Demonstration Project¡" and "Bidding for Concession". Meanwhile, several local governments also published their own subsidy policies to increase the investment subsidies or to publish electricity price in tariff for photovoltaic power projects. The publishing of these policies have been promoting the rapid growth in total amount of installed photovoltaic power. Furthermore, PV power permeability has reached an upper value in some region. The instability, random city, and upper permeability acting on PV power, bring serious influence to safe and stable operation of the grid in China. Therefore, State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) has published two enterprise standards, Q/GDW 617-2011 "Technical specifications for photovoltaic power station connected to the grid" and Q/GDW 618-2011 "Testing procedures for photovoltaic power station connected to the grid", which specifies the prospective technical parameters at different voltage rating, capacity and grid-connected types, and required testing items and methods. Focused on grid connected PV power station, the standards specifies the requirement of testing parameters, including active power control, voltage/reactive power regulation, response to abnormal voltage/frequency, power quality, low voltage ride through (LVRT), anti-islanding protection, back-feed protection, reconnection, lightening & ear thing protection, electromagnetic compatibility, surge immunity, electric energy metering, and communication & signal. In this article, it will describe those two standards in details, and analyse specific parameter and established basis required by each technical clause.

Abstract:This paper presents an electronic ballast for Metal Halide Lamps(MHL) based on ARM Microcontroller(LPC2114).In which the piece-wise linearization strategy was used to match the load characteristics of Metal Halide Lamps.The control flow of the electronic ballast based on ARM is proposed.The design method of the discrete compensating network of the constant current and constant power control is also presented.The experimental results showed this electronic ballast′s constant power precision can reach 0.4%.It also has the functions of error protection,communication and dimming.

Abstract:The verification of short-circuit effects is very important for ensuring the safety of equipment and power systems. Compared with that in alternating current (AC) systems, research on this issue in direct current (DC) systems is scarce, and it is urgently necessary to develop an accurate verification method for applications in DC systems. This research establishes an equivalent model of a pole–pole cable short-circuit according to the characteristics of low-voltage DC distribution systems in civil buildings. Through theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, the development process of a short circuit is summarized, and the methods of verifying dynamic and thermal effects based on the time-domain characteristics of the short-circuit current are specified. By calculating the peak value and Joule integral of the short-circuit current, in comparison with those in the IEC 61660 (1997) standard, this research points out that the method in the IEC 61660 (1997) standard is insufficient. Finally, the short-circuit peak current is greatly affected by the DC-link capacitance, the steady-state current is directly related to the filter inductance of the AC-link; and the verification of the thermal effect requires the calculation of the Joule integral in the transient and steady state.

Abstract:With the development of the new light source,electrodeless discharge lamp,the test of lamp power stability plays an important role in the research of power supply.This paper presents a method of brightness test based on the national metrological rules JJG 211-2005,using a silicon photocell as detector.The stability of power supply can be monitored and tested.The principle of the measurement system,calibration and configuration associated with software and hardware are discussed.The accuracy of the test system meets the national metrological rules JJG 211-2005.

Abstract:With the development of lighting industry, electronic ballasts bring convenience as well as electronic wastes. Besides, huge amount of power ratings and types increase the burden on designing ballasts and the possibility of mismatching. In this paper, a simple fluorescent lamp detection method for universal ballast is proposed based on measuring the filament resistances during preheating process. Moreover, varied preheating frequencies are used to make sure that the differences between the nearest lamps are obvious enough. The test results with a range of T8 and T5-HE lamps present the differences are evident to detect. In order to prevent ignition in detection process and ensure normal operation, the control strategy is carried out. As opposed to the conventional techniques, it doesn't need igniting the lamps. Thus, operating in improper power ratings could be avoided. Finally, the experimental results have validated the effect of the proposed method.

Abstract:In this paper, the start-up characteristics of automotive HID lamps with electronic ballast is investigated. In order to prevent the lamp from extinguish immediately after break-over, auxiliary current circuit is proposed to provide additional current to lamp. During warm-up or run-up phase, DC lighting period also is needed to light a discharge lamp more reliably at the starting time of the discharge lamp.
