Abstract:This paper discusses in detail the key problems of the development of network for loom, and provides a practicable solution to developing an intranet-based monitor-control system in weaving industry. The solution includes the designs of network structure, software composition, protocol, multithread, database, etc. The monitor-control system is developed to satisfy the special requirements brought with the new characteristics in weaving industry, such as small batches, variety, fast pace. The developed software based on this solution has been successfully applied in some companies.

Abstract:Influence law of warp and weft twist direction matching on cotton fabric structure and property was discussed.In the condition of choosing same raw material,same warp and weft density and finishing style,four common cotton fabric texture in commercial application were taken for study.Each texture adopted warp and weft with same twist direction and different twist direction were woven.After testing the indexes including fabric shrinkage,warp and weft density,weight per square meter,bending rigidity,breaking tenacity,crease recovery et al it was found out that warp and weft twist configuration influence the above indexes of cotton fabric obviously,while the change of fabric texture influences a little.

Abstract:To design and develop a novel digital double-faced jacquard fabric with different photographic patterns on face and back,the concept of weave structure of jacquard shuttle knitting was induced on the basis of single-faced jacquard fabric with photographic pattern designed by digital technology,and an auto-recognizing system of the fabric tissue by computer was also utilized.The design principle and the key points of the production technique were offered and applied to the practical production.This fabric was produced by means of computeraided synthesis of two single-faced jacquard fabrics with different photograph patterns.Practice has proved that a novel digital double-faced jacquard fabric with different photographic patterns on face and back has been successfully developed,which has intact pattern,rich colors and fine arrangement.

Abstract:Biomimetics of the branching structure in textiles which can improve the water transport was proved by previous research on weft knitted fabrics. The present work focuses on the development of a branching network in light-weight knitted fabrics for polo shirt. Vertical wicking test, water drop test, water vapor permeability as well as air resistance were employed in this study to measure the water transport behavior of fabrics. Besides, Kawabata evaluation system was applied to demonstrate the handle of produced fabric and control. Fabric appearance, skewness change and dimensional change after home laundering were applied to demonstrate the difference between plant structured fabric and control fabric. In conclusion, 100 % cotton and 100 % polyester fabrics developed with such a branching structure exhibited faster water absorption, water transport, improved handle and better normal wearing and washing application property compared with single pique fabric due to wide application for polo shirt.

Abstract:To solve the production management problems of small and medium textile enterprises,reconfigurable design of textile production management system was initiated,consisted of process control,production planning and materials planning modules.Considering process-based and order-oriented textile production,a design model based on process node modularization and order information Abstraction was established,along with business registration mechanism,achieving reconfiguration of process control module.Node modularization packaged process steps into modularized units handling single affair,order Abstraction integrated order related information into collection of common elements,above all the loose coupling between business and system framework was realized.System was implemented based on enterprise development framework Jboss Seam combined with business process management engine jBPM.The results show that it can achieve good reconfiguration and facilitate system improvement and migration.

Abstract:Weaving technique represents the development of textile industry. After 25 years of open gate and reform of industry construction, textile manufacturing in China has been developed to a higher level. China had imported many modern weaving machines from Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, and other countries. The domestic textile machine manufacturers and research institutes developed and manufactured many kinds of shuttleless looms. According to the statistical calculation, the total number of shuttleless looms is more than shuttle looms in use in China currently [1]. The wide use of the shuttleless loom demonstrates a strong technical support to the modernization of textile industry in China. These kind of shuttleless looms are equipped with advanced mechanisms like electronic let-off motion, electronic shedding motion, computer based monitoring, electronic dobby and jacquard machine. They are modern textile machines. Due to the labor denseness of the textile industry and unbalanced development of information technology (IT) in China, the manufacturing organization mode of textile is still old fashioned. Modern machines did not get the most economic and technical benefits. This situation was called “Automation Island”. In this paper, the author will describe his research in the integration of weaving machines through a local net. In the author’s project, which is being supported by the Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang in China, a research team tries to reform the original computer-based loom controller. The required hardware modification and software programming was added. All looms of the workshop were linked to a central control computer through PROFIBUS to make a local net. Now weaving information of every single loom can be monitored through this central computer. Weaving machine integration is very important textile enterprises. There are a lot of applications using this technology. Web-based (mass customization, MC) customized produce is the future of advanced manufacture. An integrated workshop is a good platform for the enterprisers to expose their business to worldwide market. In this article, the author will discuss effort in this area, including experiments and results.

Abstract:The spinning process principle of composite yarn was introduced.According to the rebuilding cotton spinning machine and based on the practice in the spinning process,spinning technological process of composite yarn is defined.Some experiments on the primary processing parameters of the composite spinning yarn were carried out,and the influences of spinning factors on composite yarn quality were analyzed by the spinning processes.The problems of end-breakage and unevenness etc. of composite yarn in the spinning process were resolved by reasonable spinning process configuration.The effective technical measures and process parameters were discussed.The results could be as a reference data for improving the quality of composite yarn and developing the new products further.

Abstract:This article works at relatively detailed analysis,which aims at the problem exists between the designing and the producing of woolen sweater in recent years.It also points out that,now,at market oriented economy envirenment,the enterpriser should see that it should establish scientific supply and demend relationship between the products and the customer demanding,the designer should be faced with this marketing envirenment with the enterpriser,and they should also adjust their designing idea to the track of commercial designing.Meanwhile,they should examine their designing according to five respects as follows,founding new designing views,having sufficient understanding of feature and function of knitting weave,exploiting new field of the woolen sweater application,paying attention to vogue and age,innovating the designing means.

Abstract:According to the characteristics of far-infrared polyester,bamboo fiber and acrylic,together with the practical production,this paper discusses various measures that increasing the blended yarns' quality.The results show that the processing principles of the abbreviated system,multiple bale breaking,small beating,slow speed,and multiple blending are adopted in the picking process;the light quantum,middle gauge,middle speed,large transfer coefficient,and small tension draft are used in the carding process;the light quantum,slow speed,heavy pressure,straight draft,large gauge are used in the drawing process;the heavy pressure,slow speed,large gauge,middle twist,and small tension are presented in the roving process;and the middle speed,large twist factor,heavy pressure,large gauge,middle hardness rubber-covered roll,and small nip gauge are adopted in the spinning process,which can all increase the quality of blended yarns.

Abstract:Textile Research Journal, Ahead of Print. A fabric touch tester is a novel instrument with fabric handling properties. Its principal advantage is that the device has integrated modules for compression, surface friction, and thermal and bending properties. This module integration simplifies the testing process, and provides an efficient measurement method, and a comprehensive physical index. This study focused on woven fabrics for dress shirts. The fabric samples comprised three groups with various yarn compositions – that is, cotton, polyester, and wool. Sample group 1 was composed of cotton, polyester, and blended yarns; sample group 2 mainly compared the effect of twist yarns on the fabric touch; and sample group 3 was composed of wool and blended yarns with polyester. The handling properties were assessed by compression work and the compression recovery rate for the compression attributes. The results revealed that fabric (T100p1) with high twist-level yarns had a higher value of compression work (242.56 gf*mm2), and the texture type may affect the compression characteristics more significantly than the blending ratio. The fabric touch tester can also distinguish small changes in the compression properties of samples (0.43–0.71), the maximum heat flux and surface roughness amplitude for the thermal and surface roughness properties. The results revealed that the maximum heat flux value of all the samples in this study was 1109 Wm−2, the sample C100 using pure cotton yarn had the highest maximum heat flux value (1270 Wm−2). Moreover, the sample W100 with 100% wool fiber yarn had the highest surface roughness amplitude in the warp direction (81 μm) and surface roughness amplitude in the weft direction (67 μm). Finally, the bending average rigidity was used to assess the bending performance of the fabric samples. These fabric touch tester indicators were applied to analyze the fabric handling characteristics of woven shirting fabrics, and perform cross-analysis among samples.

Abstract:Textile Research Journal, Ahead of Print. The control of air flow fields generated in the textile manufacturing process is important to fiber motion. With the expansion of textile applications and the challenges brought by carbon emissions, a series of fundamental research has been conducted on the control of various forms of air flow fields in textile processes. This paper reviews the research on air flow fields and fiber motion in textile processes over the past few decades, focusing on both experimental and numerical studies. The air flow field characteristics, fiber motion patterns, and corresponding control methods for vortex, jet and shear flow fields in the textile process are summarized. The results show that the air flow field and fiber motion are major factors affecting textile structure. These fundamental studies are of great significance in improving product quality, reducing energy consumption, and exploring novel applications.
