Abstract:Simple preparation of aryl telluroesters from reaction of tellurium powder and aryl Grignard reagents then acylation with acyl chlorides. Addition of telluroesters to arylpropiolates gave (2Z)-beta-aryltelluro-alpha, beta-unsaturated esters with high stereoselectivity.

Abstract:A highly efficient new protocol has been developed for the formation of C‐Te bonds, leading to both symmetrical and unsymmetrical diaryl tellurides. This protocol utilizes sodium aryltellurites (4), which can be easily prepared from low‐cost aryltelluride trichlorides and NaOH. The synthesis involves the use of 4 and arylazo sulfones as starting materials in the presence of (MeO)2P(O)H. A variety of diaryl tellurides are obtained in moderate to good yields using this method. Importantly, this innovative protocol eliminates the need for traditional, highly toxic aryltellurolating reagents such as diaryl ditellurides and elemental tellurium. This study will bring new vitality to the synthesis of tellurides.

Abstract:A new synthetic method for alpha-alkynyl-alpha,beta-unsaturated esters is presented herein. The method is based on a copper(I)-catalyzed three-component reaction of a terminal alkyne, diazoesters and aldehydes. The reaction is featured by mild conditions, high yields and excellent stereoselectivity. Cu(I) car-bene migratory insertion is proposed as the key step in the transformation.

Abstract:(E)-alpha-Selanylvinylzirconium and (E)-alpha-silylvinylzirconium complexes 2 were prepared conveniently via hydrozirconation of the alkynylselenides and the alkynylsilanes 1, respectively. Intermediates 2 were reacted with acyl chlorides 3 via Zr-Cu transmetallation with retention of the configuration to afford alpha-seleno or alpha-silyl alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones 4 in good yield.

Abstract:Reaction of alkylphenylacetylenes with tellurium(IV) tetrachloride in carbon tetrachloride gives Z-(2-chlorovinyl)tellurium (IV) trichloride derivatives in over 75% yield, which afford the corresponding Z-chloroiodoalkenes or Z-bromochloroalkenes in good yields by halogenodetelluration with iodine in acetonitrile or N-bromosuccinimide in carbon tetrachloride.

Abstract:Acetylenic stannanes (1) react with Cp2Zr(H)Cl (Cp=η5-C5H5) giving (Z)-α-stannylvinylzirconium complexes (2), which are trapped with sulfinyl chlorides (3) in THF at room temperature to afford (Z)-α-stannyl-1-alkenyl sulfoxides (4). The yields are 63–81%. The coupling of 4h with diphenyliodonium chloride in the presence of Pd(PPh3)4 and CuI afford (E)-α-phenyl unsaturated sulfoxide 5 in 75% yield.
