Abstract:A direct ethynylation reaction between N-vinylacetamides and (bromoethynyl)triisopropylsilane catalyzed by palladium is reported. A broad scope of cyclic N-vinylacetamide derivatives was tolerated and the corresponding products could be obtained in acceptable yields. This work provides a general tool for the synthesis of conjugated enyne products using palladium(II) acetate as catalyst. The mild reaction conditions and reasonable results should make this method a useful synthetic protocol. Unfortunately, other bromo-substituted alkynes are found to be unreactive and could not afford the desired products under the current reaction conditions.

Abstract:A palladium-catalyzed tandem dehydrogenative [4 + 2] annulation of terminal olefins with N-sulfonyl amides via C(sp2)-H activation, allylic C(sp3)-H activation, and homoallylic C(sp3)-H elimination processes has been developed. Promoted by the DMSO ligand, various benzamides, heterocyclic arylamides, alkenyl carboxamides, and commercial olefins are found to be efficient substrates to construct important heterocyclic compounds bearing a vinyl substituent with high E stereoselectivity. Using air as the terminal oxidant also provides a great advantage regarding environmental friendliness.

Abstract:A six-membered cyclic vinylpalladium complex was synthesized via alkenyl C-H bond direct palladation, which was probed in detail by 1 H NMR spectroscopy and characterized by X-ray analysis. The cyclic vinylpalladium complex was propounded to be the intermediate during the olefination reaction of enamides. An efficient catalytic system for oxidative cross-coupling reaction of enamides with electron-deficient olefins catalyzed by palladium(II) acetate and 1 atm oxygen as sole oxidant was developed. The corresponding products were obtained in moderate to good yields under mild conditions.

Abstract:A method is reported for palladium-catalyzed N-quinolyl carboxamide-directed olefination of the unactivated C(sp(3))H bonds of phthaloyl alanine with a broad range of vinyl iodides at room temperature. This reaction represents the first example of the stereoretentive installation of multisubstituted terminal and internal olefins onto unactivated C(sp(3))H bonds. These methods enable access to a wide range of challenging beta-vinyl a-amino acid products in a streamlined and controllable fashion, beginning from simple precursors.

Abstract:With the catalysis of CuI/N,N'-dimethylethylenediamine, intramolecular C-N coupling between sulfonamides and vinyl halides was successfully implemented, leading to the efficient synthesis of 5-, 6-, 7-, and even 8-membered heterocyclic enamines in both exo and endo modes. The bicyclic enamines thus formed provided a convenient entry to the corresponding 9- to 12-membered lactams by oxidative C=C bond cleavage.

Abstract:A direct electrochemical oxidative cross dehydrogenative coupling reaction between enamines and thiophenols has been demonstrated. This strategy provides an effective, more economical, and environmentally friendly method to construct the C(sp(2))-S bond in the absence of chemical oxidants and transition metal catalysts. A variety of enamines and (hetero)aryl thiols are compatible with this transformation to afford the corresponding vinyl sulfides in moderate to excellent yields under undivided electrolytic cell conditions.
