Abstract:Palladium-catalyzed intermolecular oxyarylation reaction of vinylacetates with retention of the double bond in the final product is developed. Under the optimized reaction conditions, the desired products of multisubstituted vinylesters could be obtained in moderate to high yields.

Abstract:A direct ethynylation reaction between N-vinylacetamides and (bromoethynyl)triisopropylsilane catalyzed by palladium is reported. A broad scope of cyclic N-vinylacetamide derivatives was tolerated and the corresponding products could be obtained in acceptable yields. This work provides a general tool for the synthesis of conjugated enyne products using palladium(II) acetate as catalyst. The mild reaction conditions and reasonable results should make this method a useful synthetic protocol. Unfortunately, other bromo-substituted alkynes are found to be unreactive and could not afford the desired products under the current reaction conditions.

Abstract:The formation of two carbon-carbon bonds using vinylarenes with alkylsilyl peroxides and β-keto carbonyl substrates is effected by the presence of catalytic Fe(OTf)<sub>2</sub> under mild reaction conditions. A variety of vinylarenes with different substituents can be utilized in combination with several different alkylsilyl peroxides and β-keto carbonyl substrates.

Abstract:Olefins play a vital role in the fields of bioscience, medicine, and chemistry. Stereo‐defined olefins are important resource in both chemical laboratory and industry. Using a palladium‐catalyzed decarboxylative transformation of vinyl cyclic carbonates, we have developed an efficient and reliable method for the direct construction of highly substituted olefins with the concomitant formation of a new Csp3‐Csp3 bond. The desired olefins could be generated in reasonable yields with good stereoselectivities, in contrast to the existing methods, which are usually non‐stereoselective. The palladium‐catalyzed decarboxylative transformation will undoubtedly provide new synthetic routes for the formation of multi‐substituted allylic scaffolds.

Abstract:A practical palladium-catalyzed ortho-olefination of O-acetyl cyanohydrins assisted by synergetic directing groups has been developed. Thus, a range of olefinated O-acetyl cyanohydrins were synthesized in moderate to good yields. The reaction occurs efficiently with high regioselectivity and with a satisfactory tolerance of functional groups.

Abstract:Herein, we disclosed a strategy to access diverse tetrasubstituted vinyl sulfides from cyclic ketones via palladium/norbornene/copper catalysed dual functionalization of the corresponding enol triflates, allowing simultaneous installation of thio and alkoxycarbonyl groups at vicinal positions of 1,2-disubstiuted alkene in a regioselective fashion. A copper salt was proven to enhance the reactivity of the electrophile to achieve the desired selectivity without using commonly used C2 amide-substituted norbornene. Readily available thiocarbonates are suitable bifunctional electrophiles; various functional groups could be tolerated. The protocol is scalable and permits orthogonal coupling in the presence of other functionalization handles.

Abstract:Pd(OAc)2-catalyzed oxidative acetoxylation of benzylic C-H bonds utilizing a bidentate system has been explored. A variety of picolinoyl- or quinoline-2-carbonyl-protected toluidine derivatives react with PhI(OAc)2 in the presence of Pd(OAc)2 to afford the acetoxylated products in synthetically useful yields. A broad of functionalities, such as CH3, F, Cl, Br, I, COCH3, CO2Et, SO2CH3, and NO2, were tolerated. This transformation provides easy access to 2-hydroxymethylaniline derivatives.
