Abstract:The 1950s belong to one of the most glorious decades for geometry and topology.A group of young mathematicians established a wealth of great theorems, made ground breaking discoveries, and created a new era in mathematics.These men leave their names in the history of mathematics.Hodge theory was just completed by Weyl and Kodaira in 1941.By exploiting the Chern characteristic classes introduced by Shiing-Shen Chern, Hirzebruch proved the signature theorem and the Hirzebruch-Riemann-Roch theorem in algebraic geometry in 1956.The engineer-turn-mathematician Bott proved the periodicity theorem on homotopy groups.These results would soon inspire Atiyah and Singer to prove their index theorem.Serre calculated the homotopy groups of spheres in algebraic topology using Leray spectral sequence, wrote the famous GAGA in algebraic geometry using sheaf theory, and systematically introduced complex analysis to algebraic geometry.Kodaira proved his famous embedding theorem, and developed deformation theory of complex manifolds.Later, Milnor found the first exotic sphere in dimension 7 and Nash proved his isometric embedding theorem for Riemannian manifolds.These great results are like stars shining in the sky.On Amsterdam's 1954 International Congress of Mathematicians, Kodaira and Serre were awarded Fields medals.Both of their works merged complex analysis, differential geometry and algebraic geometry in a miraculous fashion.As Weyl said in his famous encomium: "You reached heights of which I never dreamt… It shows that the old gnarled tree of mathematics is still full of sap and life."On the very occasion, Eugenio Calabi, a 31-year-old Italian-American mathematician, wrote down his famous conjecture on a sheet of paper during his talk, "For any (1,1)-form R in the first Chern class of a compact Kähler manifold, there exists a unique Kähler metric whose Ricci form is equal to R." Abstract:The Riemann Hypothesis is a conjecture that all non-trivial zeros of Riemann Zeta function are located on the critical line in the complex plane. Hundreds of propositions in function theory and analytic number theory rely on this hypothesis. However, the problem has been unresolved for over a century. Here we show that at least one set of quadruplet-zeros exists outside the critical line through expanding the infinite product of the Riemann Xi zero function. We found that assuming there are no zeros outside the critical line will result in a contradiction with the known result that the reciprocal sum of all zeros of the xi-function is a constant, thereby refuting the Riemann Hypothesis.

Abstract:For each primitive Dirichlet character $\chi$, a hypothesis ${\rm GRH}^\dagger[\chi]$ is formulated in terms of zeros of the associated $L$-function $L(s,\chi)$. It is shown that for any such character, ${\rm GRH}^\dagger[\chi]$ is equivalent to the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis.

Abstract:The Riemann Hypothesis, originally proposed by the eminent mathematician Bernard Riemann in 1859, remains one of the most profound challenges in number theory. It posits that all non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function {\zeta}(s) are concentrated precisely along the critical line where the real part equals 1/2. In this paper, our aim is to present an attempt to prove this conjecture. Our approach relies on the use of the reflection formula. By applying this tool with precision and insight, we can conclusively establish that {\xi}(s)^2 (Riemann's {\xi}-function) is valid only when Re(s)=1/2. As a direct consequence of this determination, we can assert that every zero of both {\xi}(s)^2 and {\xi}(s) has a real part equal to 1/2. This, in turn, leads us to the tentative conclusion that the real part of all non-trivial zeros of the zeta function is consistently 1/2.

A Proof of the Riemann Hypothesis Using Bombieri's Equivalence Theorem

Abstract:The Riemann hypothesis states that the Riemann $\xi(s)$ function has no zeros in the strip $0< {\rm Re}(s) < 1$ except for the critical line where ${\rm Re}(s) = 1/2$. However, determining whether a point in the strip is a zero of a complex function is a challenging task. Bombieri proposed an assertion in the Official Problem Description that states, ``The Riemann hypothesis is equivalent to the statement that all local maxima of $\xi(t)$ (namely $\xi(s)$ on the critical line) are positive and all local minima are negative." In this paper, we follow Bombieri's idea to study the Riemann hypothesis. First, we show that on the critical line, the $\xi(s)$ function (which is then a real function of a single real variable) obeys a special differential equation, such that it satisfies Bombieri's equivalence condition. Then, since we have been unable to locate the original proof of Bombieri's equivalence theorem, we independently provide a proof for the sufficiency part of it. Namely, if the $\xi(s)$ function satisfies Bombieri's equivalence condition on the critical line, then by the Cauchy-Riemann equations, it has no zeros outside this critical line. Thus, we can conclude that the Riemann hypothesis is true. Finally, we discuss Pólya's counterexample, which is against the use of Jensen's form of the $\xi(s)$ function to study the Riemann hypothesis. We show that this counterexample violates Bombieri's equivalence theorem.

Abstract:We introduce a differential topological proof and an analytical proof of Riemann hypothesis according to the saddle point method because Riemann calculated the integral representation of zeta function on the critical line by this method. This topological proof of RH proves that the existence of integral representation of zeta functions requires certain differential topological conditions on its integrand according to which the zeta function vanishes on the critical line. The analytical proof of RH is the local implementation of topological proof or its coordinate representation.

Abstract:In this paper, the third in a series, we continue to study the generalized Lame equation H(n(0), n(1), n(2), n(3); B) with the Darboux-Treibich-Verdier potential y ''(z) = [Sigma(3)(k=0)nk (n(k) + 1) P(z +omega(k)/2 vertical bar + B] y(z), nk is an element of Z >= 0 and a related linear ODE with additional singularities +/- p from the monodromy aspect. We establish the uniqueness of these ODEs with respect to the global monodromy data. Surprisingly, our result shows that the Riemann-Hilbert correspondence from the set {H(n(0), n(1), n(2), n(3); B)vertical bar B is an element of C} boolean OR {H(n(0) + 2, n(1), n(2), n(3); B)vertical bar B is an element of C} to the set of group representations rho : pi(1)(E-tau) -> SL(2, C) is one-to-one. We emphasize that this result is not trivial at all. There is an example that for tau = 1/2 + i root 3/2, there are B-1, B-2 such that the monodromy representations of H(1, 0, 0, 0; B-1) and H(4, 0, 0, 0; B-2) are the same, namely the Riemann-Hilbert correspondence from the set {H(n(0), n(1), n(2), n(3); B)vertical bar B is an element of C} boolean OR {H(n(0) + 3, n(1), n(2), n(3); B)vertical bar B is an element of C} to the set of group representations is not necessarily one-to-one. This example shows that our result is completely different from the classical one concerning linear ODEs defined on CP1 with finite singularities.

Abstract:Let $\Xi(t)$ be a function relating to the Riemann zeta function $\zeta (s)$ with $s = \frac{1} {2} + it$. In this paper, we construct a function $v$ containing $t$ and $\Xi(t)$, and prove that $v$ satisfies a nonadjoint boundary value problem to a nonsingular differential equation if $t$ is any nontrivial zero of $\Xi(t)$. Inspecting properties of $v$ and using known results of nontrivial zeros of $\zeta (s)$, we derive that nontrivial zeros of $\zeta (s)$ all have real part equal to $\frac{1} {2}$, which concludes that Riemann Hypothesis is true.
