Abstract:A recent comment on our work (Phys. Rev. Lett., vol. 110, 016601 (2013)) by <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://A.A.Aligia" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> claims that we "made mistakes in the evaluation of the lesser quantities". It is further claimed that the distribution function of the single-particle selfenergy of the interacting region in the Fermi liquid regime, e.g. at small bias voltage, low temperature, and small frequency, is continuous. These claims are based on a comparison of the particle-hole symmetric case with results obtained from the approach of <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://A.A.Aligia" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a>. We disagree with these claims and show that the discrepancies that the comment alludes to originate from a violation of Ward identities by the method employed in the comment. A comparison of our approach with the numerical renormalization group shows perfect agreement for the symmetric case.

Abstract:In Ref. 1 we reported on a numerical study of the influence of disorder on the spin Hall conductivity of the k-linear Rashba model, concluding incorrectly that it remains finite in the thermodynamic limit. Our original conclusion is at odds with new numerical findings2 in which the extrapolation to infinite system size is carried out systematically. The new numerical results are consistent with the conclusion from perturbation theory calculations that the dc spin Hall conductivity of this model is zero.3,4 These numerical studies are complicated by strong frequency dependence and large fluctuations in the spin Hall conductivity values obtained in finite-size calculations. The earlier calculations erred by using the frequency dependence of the longitudinal conductivity, which has corrections that vary as 2 compared to the 1 dependence of the spin Hall conductivity discussed below, to judge whether or not the dc limit was reached. The new findings in Ref. 2 supersede the conclusions reached in Ref. 1 with regards to the thermodynamic dc limit of the k-linear Rashba model. Abstract:The quantum Hall effect is one of the most extensively studied topological effects in solid state physics. The transitions between different quantum Hall states exhibit critical phenomena described by universal critical exponents. Numerous numerical finite size scaling studies have focused on the critical exponent $\nu$ for the correlation length. In such studies it is important to take proper account of irrelevant corrections to scaling. Recently, Dresselhaus et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 129}, 026801(2022)] proposed a new scaling ansatz, which they applied to the two terminal conductance of the Chalker-Coddington model. In this paper their proposal is applied to our previously reported data for the Lyapunov exponents of that model using both polynomial fitting and Gaussian process fitting.

Abstract:The Clogston estimate for the Pauli limit used in the original comment (and the paper to which it referred) neglects important effects that lead to a significant enhancement of the Pauli limit in CeCoIn5. Abstract:Fundamental symmetries in thermoelectric quantum transport, beyond Onsagers relations, were predicted two decades ago but have to date not been observed in experiments. Recent works have predicted the symmetries to be sensitive to energy-dependent, inelastic scattering, raising the question whether they exist in practice. Here, we answer this question affirmatively by experimentally verifying the thermoelectric reciprocity relations in a four-terminal mesoscopic device where each terminal can be electrically and thermally biased individually. The linear-response thermoelectric coefficients are found to be symmetric under simultaneous reversal of magnetic field and exchange of injection and emission contacts. We also demonstrate a controllable breakdown of the reciprocity relations by increasing thermal bias, putting in prospect enhanced thermoelectric performance.

Abstract:Local measurements of heat flux in Quantum Hall devices can deviate from the expected equilibrium heat flux due to interactions. We present a model of a simple mesoscopic device consisting of an Ohmic reservoir contacted by chiral edge states. In contrast to the well studied heat Coulomb blockade (HCB) effect, we report the opposite phenomenon, an enhancement of the heat flux carried by an edge state in the HCB regime due to an additional contribution of the collective charge mode via the fluctuating potential of the Ohmic contact. We discuss the thermometry of these correlared states and discuss their detectability. The enhancement effect is also reflected in modified correlation functions, which influences the electrical and thermal linear response coefficients in a tunneling probe measurement. On a technical level, we introduce a Langevin formalism that elucidates the role of these extra fluctuations in electrical and thermal transport, both in uniformly heated and Joule heated devices and argue that our approach has advantages in the latter scenario compared to the standard $P (E)$ theory. We report a violation of the Wiedemann-Franz law, which is modified by the external resistance of the mesoscopic circuit.
