Abstract:Hexamethyldisilazane-mediated reaction of quinazolin-4(3H)-ones with primary amines led to facile formation of 4-aminoquinazolines through tandem silylation and substitution in a single pot. Abstract:An economical and efficient approach to pharmaceutically and biologically significant 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones has been disclosed. The one-pot multicomponent reaction was performed through a palladium-catalyzed ortho-selective oxidative carbonylation of N-substituted anilines with CO and primary amines, and subsequent condensation with aldehydes in MeCN by using alkylamino as the directing group, KI/AcOH as the additives, and Cu(OAc)(2) as the oxidant. This intriguing straightforward method features embedded directing strategy, simple starting materials, mild conditions, high atom/step economic economy, broad substrate scope and good product diversity.

Abstract:We herein report a diethyl phosphate (DEP)‐catalyzed one‐pot synthesis of 2,3‐dihydroquinolin‐4(1H)‐ones through the intermolecular aldol condensation of 2‐aminoacetophenone and aldehyde, followed by a hydrogen bond‐driven cyclization. In this process, a series of 2,3‐dihydroquinolin‐4(1H)‐ones are obtained in moderate to good yields. Comparing to previous approaches, this strategy features transition metal‐free and short reaction times. A diethyl phosphate (DEP)‐catalyzed one‐pot synthesis of 2,3‐dihydroquinolin‐4(1H)‐ones in DMF was achieved. Control experiments led to a plausible mechanism involving an intermolecular aldol condensation of 2‐aminoacetophenone and aldehyde, followed by a hydrogen bond‐driven cyclization. In this process, a series of 2,3‐dihydroquinolin‐4(1H)‐ones were obtained in good yields (48–84%). This strategy features transition metal‐free and short reaction times.

Abstract:An efficient synthesis of dihydropyrimidin-2(1 H)-ones using samarium(III) nitrate hexahydrate as a catalyst from an aldehyde, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and urea under solventless conditions is described. Compared with the classical Biginelli reaction, the yields of this protocol increased from 20–50% to 78–98% while the reaction time was significantly shortened from 18 h to 15–30 min.

Abstract:A facile one-pot, four-component reaction for the synthesis of pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinolines is described. Knoevenagel condensation reaction of malononitrile and aromatic aldehydes gave 2-arylmethylidenemalononitriles which on treatment with quinoline and cyclohexyl isocyanide under solvent-free conditions afforded 1-(cyclohexylamino)-2-arylpyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoline-3-carbonitriles in good yields.

Abstract:A cost‐effective protocol has been used for the synthesis of novel benzo[g]benzo[4,5]imidazo[2,1-b]quinazoline derivatives. This domino, one‐pot, three‐component reaction was carried out between 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone, aromatic aldehydes, and 2-aminobenzimidazole in the presence of piperidine in DMF solvent. This protocol has several advantages such as a convenient operational process, easy access to raw material, good yields and simple work-up. The structure of these compounds were characterized by spectroscopic techniques such as IR, 1 H-NMR, 13 C-NMR and CHN analysis.
