Abstract:In order to measure the performance parameters of laser range finders, a new intelligent measuring system is developed, which introduces advanced control technologies, very quick and convenient WIN32 computer software and a skillfully designed beam splitter system. It can synchronously measure optical axis consistency, width and energy of the pulse, beam divergence angle, and so on. A 1296×1030 CCD is adopted in order to ensure 10″ of spatial resolving ability; A 350MHz oscilloscope is used to catch the laser pulse as narrow as 10ns; A laser power meter which has high accuracy and large dynamic scope is used to obtain accurate energy measurement of the laser pulse. The system has been checked and accepted, and all the performance parameters meet the design demands. Now it is used by user and operates very well.

Abstract:In order to evaluate if an ophthalmic instrument has exempt status it shall not exceed any of the emission limits, we designed a relatively simple and inexpensive optical radiation measurement system that can be used to evaluate if an ophthalmic instrument is below the emission limits specified in the standard. The system can complete one measure of the spectral irradiance (in W/(cm*cm*nm)) from 250nm similar to 1100nm in shortest time of 10us and the system is applicable to the instruments with continuous visible light output and pulsed light output.

Abstract:The double beam spectrophotometer is an analytic instrument with high accuracy. In order to improve the level of digitalization, intelligence, automation, and integration, using opto-mechatronics technique, a new intelligent ultraviolet-visible embedded spectrophotometer system is designed. The new spectrophotometer system based on embedded PC technique and Windows CE operate system has modular software system and web interface, and realizes the intelligent control of the whole measurement process. The software system applied double beam spectrometry, derived spectrometry and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, and it has powerful data processing and file management function. The technique structure of the embedded instrument system based on Windows CE is introduced in this paper. And the system structure of digital intelligent double beam spectrophotometer including optical system, embedded measurement and control system and multifunction software system is offered. After experiment and analysis, the instrument system could reach the expected accuracy, the level of digitalization, intelligence, integration, automation and network have got obviously improved compared to the original instrument system, and the powerful analysis function and perfect man-machine interface could be achieved. Besides, the technique can provide common key technique for the development of embedded opto-mechatronics test and analytic instrument system.

An optimized design method for optical system of a spectroanalyzer

Abstract:An optimized design method for optical system of a spectroanalyzer is proposed. On the basis of ray optics and spot diagrams obtained through high-density sampling for light source and pupil plane as evaluation factors, the whole system is divided into two subsystems from the entrance of monochromator based on evaluation specifications for spectral analyzing system. A post-processing module is developed through optimizing the first sub-system and monochromator, respectively, and the module is integrated into optical design software. A practical example for optical system of atomic absorption spectrophotometer is given and its operating band is from 190 nanometer to 860nanometer. The design results and sample experiments show that the system has attained the demand of 0.3nanometer spectral resolution.

Abstract:<p>It is a practical necessity for non‐professional users to interpret biologically derived Raman spectral information for obtaining accurate and reliable analytical results. An integrated Raman spectral analysis software (NWUSA) was developed for spectral processing, analysis, and feature recognition. It provides a user‐friendly graphical interface to perform the following preprocessing tasks: spectral range selection, cosmic ray removal, polynomial fitting based background subtraction, Savitzky‐Golay smoothing, area‐under‐curve normalization, mean‐centered procedure, as well as multivariate analysis algorithms including PCA, LDA, PLS‐DA, SVM, and PCA‐SVM. A spectral dataset obtained from two different samples was utilized to evaluate the performance of the developed software, which demonstrated that the analysis software can quickly and accurately achieve functional requirements in spectral data processing and feature recognition. Besides, the open‐source software can not only be customized with more novel functional modules to suit the specific needs, but also benefit many Raman based investigations, especially for clinical usages.</p><p>This article is protected by copyright. Abstract:With the development of high-speed electron detectors, four-dimensional scanning transmission electron microscopy (4D-STEM) has emerged as a powerful tool for characterizing microstructures in material science and life science. However, the complexity of 4D-STEM data processing necessitates an intuitive graphical user interface software for researchers. In this regard, we have developed 4D-Explorer, an open-source, lightweight and extensible software for processing 4D-STEM data. It offers a visual and interactive workflow, including data preparation, calibration, image reconstruction and generating quantitative results. Furthermore, during calibration, our software includes a novel algorithm for rotational offset correction that uses a defocused 4D-STEM dataset and its axial bright field image, which has lower experimental requirements than conventional methods. We anticipate that 4D-Explorer will help researchers harness the capabilities of 4D-STEM technology.

Abstract:Using a solar radiometer is an effective approach for improving the remote sensing of solar irradiance distribution and atmospheric composition. Long-term development of a solar scanning radiometer enables frequent and reliable measurement of atmospheric parameters such as the water vapor column and aerosol optical properties. However, the discrete wavelength radiometer has encountered a bottleneck with respect to its insufficient spectral resolution and limited observation waveband, and it has been unable to satisfy the needs of refined and intelligent on-site experiments. This study proposes a solar-skylight spectroradiometer for obtaining visible and near-IR fine spectrum with two types of measurement: direct-sun irradiance and diffuse-sky radiance. The instrument adopts distributed control architecture composed of the ARM-Linux embedded platform and sensor networks. The detailed design of the measuring light-path, two-axis turntable, and master control system will be addressed in this study. To determine all coefficients needed to convert instrument outputs to physical quantities, integrating sphere and Langley extrapolation methods are introduced for diffuse-sky and direct-sun calibration, respectively. Finally, the agreement of experimental results between spectroradiometers and measuring benchmarks (DTF sun-photometer, microwave radiometer, and Combined Atmospheric Radiative Transfer simulation) verifies the feasibility of the spectroradiometer system, and the radiation information of feature wavelengths can be used to retrieve the characteristics of atmospheric optics.
