Abstract:In this paper, a common high precision data collector which uses PIC microchip to control the 24 bit Δ-∑ A/D converter is introduced. The principle of A/D converter, the communicating block of PIC microchip, the corresponding circuit and the flowchart are introduced in detail.

A Low Power Sample-and-Hold Circuit for Pipelined A/D Converter

Abstract:A low power sample-and-hold circuit for a 10-bit 20 MS/s pipelined A/D converter has been designed,which is implemented in a 0.6 μm double-poly double-metal CMOS process.The S/H circuit is realized in switched-capacitor topology.Differential signal input topology is used to make the circuit less sensitive to interference.A common-mode feedback circuit is also used to stabilize the common-mode output to a desired level,thus improving the precision of the S/H.Furthermore,the S/H circuit consumes only 5 mW power at 5 V supply voltage with a low power operational transconductance amplifier(OTA).The A/D converter based on this S/H circuit achieves a SNDR of 58 dB at 20 MHz sampling rate,and the power dissipation is only 49 mW.

Abstract:The pipelined ADC can keep high speed and low power consumption when it achieves high conversion accuracy, it can compromise between speed, conversion accuracy, power consumption and chip area. It is very suitable to be used in system integration and portable devices. This paper presents a novel pipelined analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Based on 0.35 μm BiCMOS process, the design is verified using the sample frequency of 250 MHz. The results show that signal to noise ratio (SNR) and Spurious Free dynamic range (SFDR) can reach 46-dB and 64.8-dB respectively. The power consumption of the key A/D circuit is 118 mW when the supply voltage is 3.3 V.

Abstract:A multi-bit quantized high performance sigma-delta (Sigma-Delta) audio DAC is presented. Compared to its single-bit counterpart, the multi-bit quantization offers many advantages, such as simpler Sigma-Delta modulator circuit, lower clock frequency and smaller spurious tones. With the data weighted average (DWA) mismatch shaping algorithm, element mismatch errors induced by multi-bit quantization can be pushed out of the signal band, hence the noise floor inside the signal band is greatly lowered. To cope with the crosstalk between digital and analog circuits, every analog component is surrounded by a guard ring, which is an innovative attempt. The 18-bit DAC with the above techniques, which is implemented in a 0.18 mu m mixed-signal CMOS process, occupies a core area of 1.86 mm(2). The measured dynamic range (DR) and peak SNDR are 96 dB and 88 dB, respectively.

Abstract:A sample and hold circuit used in the front end of Pipelined ADCs is designed. The performance index of all the sub-circuit are analyzed from the requirement of 12 bit,100MHz Analog-to-Digital Converters theoretically, and then the sub-circuit such as gain-boosted OTA、bootstrap switch is designed according to the above requirements. Base on SMIC 0.13μm, 3.3V technique, Spectre simulation shows that SINAD, SFDR and ENOB can reach 81.9dB, 94.9dB, and 13.3bit respectively,with only 24mw power consumption. Even the input signal is up to Nyquist frequency, its SINAD and SFDR can still keep 81.5dB and 92.67dB along with the 13.2bit ENOB.

Abstract:This text introduced a data collecting system with MSP430 single chip as kernel.The analog signals from the sensors,passing through the signal rectifying electro circuit,would arrive at the single chip,and then the single chip would finish the task of data collecting.At the same time,the single chip could communicate with the computer,by which,consumers could control the data collecting.This system has the merits such as simple hardware,higher precision and much lower power and so on.With some widely used CPU such as DSP and ARM,it could finish the fast digital signals processing or the real time control system very well,so the design of this system has perfect practicality.

Abstract:The factors that impact the accuracy and stability of traditional dual-slope integrating A/D converter are analyzed.The operational principle and circuit implementation of MCU-controlled A/D converting technology that eliminate those impactions are introduced.This converting technology assures the accuracy and stability of conversion of analog signal inputs in multiple measuring range by low cost measures,and easy implementation of electrical isolation with high cost effectiveness.It can be widely used for digital measuring instruments and industrial data acquisition.

Abstract:A 10-bit 30-Msample/s pipelined analog-to-digital converter is designed and implemented in a 0.6μm CMOS technology. Sampling capacitors scaling technique is employed to reduce the power dissipation. The digital correction technique is used to relax the offset requirement of the comparators. A sample-and-hold amplifier (SHA) is also used to improve the signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SNDR) performance and the linearity of ADC. The simulation and experiment results reveal that the ADC designed with this method achieves the SNDR of 58dB or the ENOB of 9.34 at full speed of 30MHz when input frequency is 7MHz. Furthermore, the ADC consumes only 50mW power at 5V supply voltage with a low power operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) and the dynamic comparators. © 2005 IEEE.

Abstract:A 10-bit 20-Msample/s CMOS pipelined analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is proposed, which is implemented in a 0.6/spl mu/m double-poly double-metal CMOS process. To reduce signal-dependent charge injection and substrate noise injection, the bottom-plate sampling technology is applied. A sample-and-hold amplifier (SHA) is also used to improve the signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SNDR) performance and the linearity of ADC. The circuit is simulated by the Hspice software which is based on CSMCs library of 0.6/spl mu/m mixed-signal CMOS model. Furthermore, the ADC consumes 49mW power at 5V supply voltage with a low power operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) and the dynamic comparators.

Abstract:In order to implement an analog-to-digital converter(ADC) with pipeline structure of 10-bit high performance and low power dissipation,a design method based on 0.6 μm complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS)mixed signal technology was proposed.When sample-and-hold amplifier(SHA) was set at the input ports,low power dissipation operational trans-conductance amplifier(OTA) and the dynamic comparators were designed in the sub-stage circuits,and sampling capacitors optimization technique and digital correction technique were employed.The test results show that when input signal frequency is 5 MHz and sampling ratio is 20 MHz,the ADC designed by the method achieves signal-to-noise and distortion ratio(SNDR) of 58 dB or the effective number of bits(ENOB) of 9.38, power dissipation of the ADC is only 49 mW at 5 V supply voltage.The proposed method can meet the design requirements of high SNDR performance,good linearity and low power dissipation.

Abstract:In consideration of the higher and higher requirement of data acquisition precision and speed on the ultrasonic measuring distance system recently,at the same time,the simple interface circuit and high reliability was also required,a high-speed data acquisition system used in collecting ultrasonic echo signals was designed and implemented.This system takes the master-control unit with TMS320F2812,takes AD7674 as the high-speed ADC,takes the data transmission con-nection by SPI.Through the research of TMS320F2812 and the AD7674 SPI succession and controls register,it gave the method of disposing the SPI pattern correctly and the controlled process,and solved the critical path of the signal integrity problems.Actual trial shows that in 40kHz ultrasonic ranging system,the error is not more than 2mm,the blind controlled is less than 1cm,it meets the high-precision ultrasonic echo ranging system signal acquisition needs.

Abstract:The design of a low-power 13 bit, 107 sample/s pipelined analog-to-digital converter (ADC) in 0.6 μm CMOS technology was described. The capacitor error averaging technique was used to achieve the 13 bit precision, with circuit techniques such as operational amplifier sharing, input sample-and-hold amplifier cancellation, and dynamic comparator used to reduce the power. Technology non-idealities were included in a transistor-level Monte-Carlo simulation of the ADC. Simulation results show that a free dynamic range of 82 dB is achieved for an input of 1 MHz at a full speed of 10 MHz while consuming only 11 mW of power in the analog section.

Abstract:The data collector with the EM78P 458 single chip microprocessor as its kernel is introduced in its operation principle,hardware and software design.The magneto-dependent sensor with zero power consumption is adopted to reduce the power loss.The single chip microprocessor is usually at dormant state and only awakened by the interruption for the data acquisition,the measured data display and the data remote transmission for realizing the ultra-low power consumption design.Measured power consumptions are offered.The collector communicates with the host computer via expanded serial ports for remote data transmission.It has low cost and power loss,high precision and reliability,and is suitable to the data collection in remote meter-reading systems.

Abstract:A kind of data sampling system for 24-bits absolute type photoelectric rotary encoder is introduced. When the original signal of the encoder is differential amplified,there will be 24 channel signals,the three A/D converter chips MAX1316 is used to sample the signal of the encoder,the DSP chip TMS320F2812 of TI is used as controlling chip. The DSP can dispose the signal of the encoder as real-time,and convert the electric signal to angle information,and it also can transport photoelectric signal data of the encoder to computer by the USB interface,so as to analyze the performance parameters of the encoder more detailed.

Abstract:A low-power,medium-speed and medium-resolution successive approximation A/D converter with single analog input was presented,which was used as an interface of a microprocessor.A segmented capacitive array was used in the digital-to-analog converter,so as to improve layout matching and save chip area.A multi-stage structure consisting of three pre-amplifiers and a latch was adopted and an offset cancellation technique was used for the comparator.The digital portion coordinates the analog circuits to finish successive approximation process,which can also power down the whole chip.Designed and fabricated in UMC's 0.18 μm mixed mode CMOS technology,this successive approximation A/D converter occupies a chip area of 1 400 μm×1 030 μm Simulation results show that it achieves 12 bits of resolution at 1 MS/s sampling rate under 2.5 V supply voltage with only 1 mW of power consumption by the analog portion.
