Abstract:In this paper, we study the interior $C^2$ regularity problem for the Hessian quotient equation $\left(\frac{\sigma_n}{\sigma_k}\right)(D^2u)=f$. We give a complete answer to this longstanding problem: for $k=n-1,n-2$, we establish an interior $C^2$ estimate; for $k\leq n-3$, we show that interior $C^2$ estimate fails by finding a singular solution.

Abstract:In this paper, we use Aleksandrov's reflection principle to prove symmetry of solutions to F(∇Sn2u+uI)=f(u,u2+|∇Snu|2), where u is the support function of a convex body, and F is a function of principal radii. As a corollary, alongside [Ivaki, arXiv:2307.06252], we provide an alternative proof of the uniqueness of solution to the isotropic Gaussian-Minkowski problem.

Abstract:We establish interior $C^2$ estimates for convex solutions of scalar curvature equation and $\sigma_2$-Hessian equation. We also prove interior curvature estimate for isometrically immersed hypersurfaces $(M^n,g)\subset \mathbb R^{n+1}$ with positive scalar curvature. These estimates are consequences of an interior estimate for these equations obtained under a weakened condition.

Abstract:We prove a priori interior curvature estimates for hypersurfaces of prescribing scalar curvature equations in dimension three. The method is motivated by the integral method of Warren and Yuan. The new observation here is that the "Lagrangian" submanifold constructed similarly as Harvey and Lawson has bounded mean curvature if the graph function of a hypersurface satisfies the scalar curvature equation.

Abstract:In the present paper a direct proof for the interior estimates for mean curvature of convex surfaces in R-3 is given. Meanwhile, when the Gaussian curvature of such a C-2 - convex surface is degenerate on the boundary at degree m where m is some integer, a global lower bound away from zero for mean curvature is also obtained. Therefore, global smooth isometric embedding for smooth positive disks in R-3 can be constructed by means of the techniques in Ref. 12.

Abstract:New, doubling proofs are given for the interior Hessian estimates of the special Lagrangian equation. These estimates were originally shown by Chen-Warren-Yuan in CPAM 2009 and Wang-Yuan in AJM 2014. This yields a higher codimension analogue of Korevaar's 1987 pointwise proof of the gradient estimate for minimal hypersurfaces, without using the Michael-Simon mean value inequality.

Abstract:We derive a concavity inequality for $k$-Hessian operators under the semi-convexity condition. As an application, we establish interior estimates for semi-convex solutions of the $k$-Hessian equations with vanishing Dirichlet boundary and obtain a Liouville-type result. Abstract:In this paper, we give several new approaches to study interior estim-ates for a class of fourth order equations of Monge-Ampere type. First, we prove interior estimates for the homogeneous equation in dimension two by using the par-tial Legendre transform. As an application, we obtain a new proof of the Bernstein theorem without using Caffarelli-Gutierrez's estimate, including the Chern conjec-ture on affine maximal surfaces. For the inhomogeneous equation, we also obtain a new proof in dimension two by an integral method relying on the Monge-Ampere Sobolev inequality. This proof works even when the right-hand side is singular. In higher dimensions, we obtain the interior regularity in terms of integral bounds on the second derivatives and the inverse of the determinant.

Abstract:Consider the solutions $u$ to the elliptic equation $\mathcal{L}(u) = \partial_i(a^{ij}(x) \partial_j u) + b^i(x) \partial_i u + c(x) u= 0$ with $a^{ij}$ assumed only to be Hölder continuous. In this paper we prove an explicit bound for $(n-2)$-dimensional Minkowski estimates of singular set $\mathcal{S}(u) = \{ x \in B_1 : u(x) = |\nabla u(x)| = 0\}$ and critical set $\mathcal{C}(u) \equiv \{ x\in B_{1} : |\nabla u(x)| = 0 \}$ in terms of the bound on doubling index, depending on $c \equiv 0$ or not. Here the Hölder assumption is sharp as it is the weakest condition in order to define the critical set of $u$ according to elliptic estimates. We can also obtain an optimal improvement on Cheeger-Naber-Valtorta's volume estimates on each quantitative stratum $\mathcal{S}^k_{\eta, r}$. The main difficulty in this situation is the lack of monotonicity formula which is essential to the quantitative stratification. In our proof, one key ingredient is a new almost monotonicity formula for doubling index under the Hölder assumption. Another key ingredient is the quantitative uniqueness of tangent maps. It deserves to note that our almost monotonicity is sufficient to address all the difficulties arising from the absence of monotonicity in the analysis of differential equations. We believe the idea could be applied to other relevant study.

Abstract:We develop an integral approach to obtain interior a priori $C^{1,1}$ estimates for convex solutions of prescribing scalar curvature equations $\sigma_2(\kappa) = f(x)$ as well as the Hessian equations $\sigma_2(D^2u) = f(x)$. This new approach can deal with the case when $f$ is of weaker regularity. As a result, we prove that the $C^{1,1}$ modules of the solutions depend only on the Lipschitz modules of $f(x)$, instead of the $\|f\|_{C^k}$ for some $k\geq 2$ in all the papers we have known up to now.
