Design of AMBA-AHB Bus Interface in Multi-Core Shared Memory Controller

Abstract:On-chip bus works as the interconnection of integrated system in SOC design based on IP reuse technology,it is in charge of the normal communication between various portable IP cores.As a bridge of communication between various modules,on-chip bus becomes a key issue in SOC design.This paper,based on AMBA Rev2.0 AHB-Lite bus protocol,introduces a method of designing an AMBA interface between memory controller and AHB bus.As a result,both of system-specific network Processor Engine(PE)and general purpose embedded processor(ARM)can access to off-chip external memory by sharing this memory controller.
