Abstract:This paper introduces a design of MIL-STD-1553B data bus interface controller based on SOPC (System on a Programmable Chip) technology. This interface controller integrates an embedded MPU and a protocol processing IP core into one FPGA,and has high integration level and strong functions.

Abstract:Based on advanced Microprocessors MPC8260 and real-time operating system VxWorks, a high-performance embedded computing control platfonn is proposed to meet the increased requirements of complexity and real time in intelligent control systems. DSP array and FPGA is also designed for high-speed parallel signal processing. This platfonn can be used in communication, intelligent robot, military aircrafts, radar and medical imaging instruments etc.

Abstract:The system architecture of high-speed bus was studied to improve the control system communication speed and efficiency.A FPGA based high-speed bus applied in control system was designed and implemented,which is high real-time,high throughput,easy to expand and so on.The physical layer was based on multipoint-low-voltage differential signaling(M-LVDS) standard to achieve 256 Mbps serial communication.Multi-path optimization selection network redundancy through real-time link state maintenance was used in data link layer to ensure reliable communications while maximizing bandwidth utilization.The design was implemented on Xilinx XC3S400A FPGA and actual tests were done.Results show that communication speed and real-time performance are improved significantly compared with the current mainstream bus of control system,and the needs of upper applications are met to the greatest degree.

Abstract:The USB has become the most popular bus standard of computer’s peripheral interface, and it is very meaningful to design a flexible and efficient USB Device Controller. A system of USB2.0 device is built based on SOPC in this paper, which acts as a USB Mass Storage device. Because both the processor and the device controller are soft IP cores that can be download into FPGA, the whole system is well configurable.

Abstract:The paper describes an original design of Boundary Scan Test System based on SOPC and brings up a more flexible and effective embedded system solution,which makes use of SOPC technology.This scheme integrates multiple function modules on a low cost and high density FPGA,which is developed with embedded NIOS CPU by Altera Company,including boundary-scan test module.It improves the flexibility of design,testing efficiency of boundary scan system and speed rate of fetching data.At the same time,JTAG bus controlling IP core that has own intellectual property provides a valuable module for SOPC system.The design of boundary-scan test controller based on SOPC and the development of JTAG bus controlling IP core are presented in detail.The simulation and experimental results have proved the design correct and rational,and are capable of processing boundary-scan test effectively.

Abstract:In according with the wide use of Ethernet communication, this paper proposed a programmable system on chip (SOPC) technology, using the Xilinx Spartan-6 FPGA series XC6S LX16 chips, utilizing soft core MicroBlaze, basing on AXI bus. The system is implemented by function design method of LWIP protocol. It can complete the functions and aims of this project, and after testing the results indicate that the system running well.

Abstract:With the rapid development of microelectronics technologies and higher requirements of embedded systems,integration of hardware has become higher;the chip design technologies based on FPGA that called SoPC design methods have developed fast.Based on the PowerPC405 processor this paper develops the SoPC system.The processor and peripherals are integrated as hard IP and soft IP into the FPGA,so as to reprogram,decrease peripheral equipments and area of PCBs,enhance the ability of anti-jamming and reduce the power and so on.The paper focuses on the analysis of the SoPC design.At last,a design based on PowerPC architecture of SoPC is introduced as an example.
The IRCBus Communication Protocol Construction Design and Realization for Distributed Control System

Abstract:Distributed control system plays an important part in the application of satellite systems. However, there are integrated requirements (i.e., reliability, real-time capability, expandability, commonality, usability, economy and efficiency) for communication in these systems often used in hostile environments. The work presented here relates to a protocol named IRCBus (Industry High-Reliability Configurable Bus), which supports these requirements. And it also offers practical solutions. First of all, the protocol is formulated based on ISO/OSI (International Organization Standardization /Open System Interconnection) model and it includes four layers: Physical, DataLink, Network and Transport. And it proposes new ideas and improved methods in each layer draft and realization for these requirements. Then the high reliability is guaranteed by hot backup, three redundancy, bus isolation, retransmission law, data check and intrinsically safe explosion-proof; the real-time capability is realized by hardware system based on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) and software system; the expandability for bus functions and network size is considered during the whole design; the usability is solved by system management function, installing law and uninstalling law; the low cost are achieved as follows: adopting common cable as transmission media; utilizing existing chip RS485 chip with rational circuit; the efficiency is improved by taking advantage of 8-bit data and 9-bit data in UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) protocol and other features. Moreover, it analyzes the protocol from communication principle perspectives. Lastly, in conclusion, it provides some discussion about extensions for Presentation layer (the sixth layer in ISO/OSI) and bus drive. rds: Protocol, IRCBus, Field bus

Abstract:After analyzing the system architecture and the routine design method of a SCSI controller, one novel design project for the SCSI controller is proposed on the basis of SOPC and soft processor IP core technology. The NIOS soft processor IP core is chosen as the center controller in the application system. Except for NIOS processor, most of the peripherals around the SCSI module, including DMA data channel and data cache control logic, are integrated into one FPGA chip. Comparing with the routine design method, the new project has better features in the expansibility, scalability, improvability and in-system programmability. As an instance, the SCSI to ATA interface system based on SOPC is introduced and given the satisfying I/O speed test results.

Abstract:This paper introduces the design and implementation of essential modules in a class 4 Multifunctional Vehicle Bus (MVB) controller. The MVB controller is responsible for polling and storing the information collected by up to 4096 different sensors deployed in a carriage of high-speed trains. Working under strict real-time constraints, the MVB network controller consists of both firmware running on FPGA and software executed on an ARM processor. The operation of the card is under hostile electromagnetic environments. This paper consists of firmware design of the interface module to the industrial computer, command processing unit module and memory controller module. The designed modules offer full support for dynamic configuration, which significantly lower the complexity of system management. In addition to completely meeting the real-time and functional requirements specified by IEC61375, the circuits are carefully designed to support fault tolerance and fast recovery. The network controller has passed the protocol conformance test and 15-day fault-free field test on the sub-way trains.

Abstract:On-chip bus works as the interconnection of integrated system in SOC design based on IP reuse technology,it is in charge of the normal communication between various portable IP cores.As a bridge of communication between various modules,on-chip bus becomes a key issue in SOC design.This paper,based on AMBA Rev2.0 AHB-Lite bus protocol,introduces a method of designing an AMBA interface between memory controller and AHB bus.As a result,both of system-specific network Processor Engine(PE)and general purpose embedded processor(ARM)can access to off-chip external memory by sharing this memory controller.

Abstract:1553B bus has been widely applied as its high reliability,anti-jamming and flexible expansion ability. In order to test the electronic equipment and electric system with 1553B interface,we usually have to equip the 1553B interface module in the test system. This paper introduces a design of PXI-1553B module based on FPGA. The module can be used in the communication between PXI bus test system and 1553B equipment,to carry out the test of equipment with 1553B interface. Both PXI bus interface and the protocol control of 1553B are implemented in a FPGA chip with Verilog HDL. The hardware structure of the module is simple,and with high integration and reliability. The experiment result shows that PXI-1553B module can complete the data communication with high reliability.

Abstract:The latest multiprocessor platforms are ideal for implementing multi-OS embedded applications. IPC (inter-processor communication) interface makes it possible for a multiprocessor system to easily support multiple subsystems parallel processing. In this paper, we propose a new type of OS-level communication interface designing based-on CMPS (complementary multiprocessor system) and present the primary principles and corresponding driver structure of HP I (host-port interface). Take a single-board embedded multimedia system which was integrated three embedded microprocessors (PXA255, TMS320DM642 and SM501) as hardware platform, detailed description of how implement tasks communication and A/V (audio/video) data transform via HPI between different OS(Linux and muC/OS-II) running on ARM and DSP separately.

Abstract:The VME bus is widely used in industrial control because of its real-time and high reliability. FPGA has high operating efifciency because it runs in parallel to ifnish logical operation.Coupled with its rich I / O ports and easy programming language, FPGA is widely applied in the industrial ifeld. Using the special chip designed for VME bus makes the system complex and has low flexibility. Besides, sometimes it may not meet the complex control requirements. This paper describes a method to achieve communication protocol of VME bus by using FPGA. Based on FPGA’s feature of lfexibility and stability, the design of slave's interface VME bus is realized.

Abstract:A solution is proposed to overcome the disadvantage that most module systems that adopt 80486 processor are lower in the integration and slower in the bus transmission speed.While using PCI bus to improve the system's performance,this design integrates some function modules into FPGA in the form of Intellectual Property(IP) Core.So the module has high integration and realizes the minimized design.It is proved through verification that it is rational and feasible,and it can improve the system performance,meanwhile features high integration,flexible configuration,and strong universality.
