Abstract:In this paper, we develop a method to verify David's integrability condition for certain Beltrami differentials without using Petersen puzzles. Using this method and trans-quasiconformal surgery, we prove that for any David type rotation number, the boundary of the Siegel disk of $f_{\theta}(z) = e^{2 \pi i \theta} \sin (z)$ is a Jordan curve which passes through exactly two critical points $\pi/2$ and $-\pi/2$.

Abstract:In this paper we explore a class of quadratic polynomials having Siegel disks with unbounded type rotation numbers. We prove that any boundary point of Siegel disks of these polynomials is a Lebesgue density point of their filled-in Julia sets, which generalizes the corresponding result of McMullen for bounded type rotation numbers. As an application, this result can help us construct more quadratic Julia sets with positive area. Moreover, we also explore the canonical candidate model for quasiconformal surgery of quadratic polynomials with Siegel disks. We prove that for any irrational rotation number, any boundary point of ``Siegel disk'' of the canonical candidate model is a Lebesgue density point of its ``filled-in Julia set'', in particular the critical point $1$ is a measurable deep point of the ``filled-in Julia set''.

Abstract:For the family of quadratic rational functions having a 2-cycle of bounded type Siegel disks, we prove that each of the boundaries of these Siegel disks contains at most one critical point. Abstract:Under conjugation by affine transformations, the dynamical moduli space of cubic polynomials $f$ with a $2$-cycle of Siegel disks is parameterized by a three-punctured complex plane as a degree-$2$ cover. Assuming the rotation number of $f^2$ on the Siegel disk is of bounded type, we show that on the three-punctured complex plane, the locus of the cubic polynomials with both finite critical points on the boundaries of the Siegel disks on the $2$-cycle is comprised of two arcs, corresponding to the cases with two critical points on the boundary of the same Siegel disk, and a Jordan curve, corresponding to the cases with two critical points on the boundaries of different Siegel disks.

Abstract:In the famous work by Buff and Chéritat constructing quadratic Julia sets with positive area, the control of the shape of perturbed Siegel disks is a key technique. To do it, Buff and Chéritat added a restrictive condition on rotation numbers. In this paper, we show that this restrictive condition is not necessary. As a consequence, more quadratic Julia sets with positive area can be constructed.

Abstract:We extend Thurston's combinatorial criterion for postcritically finite rational maps to a class of rational maps with bounded type Siegel disks. The combinatorial characterization of this class of Siegel rational maps plays a special role in the study of general Siegel rational maps. Abstract:In this note we show that the regular part of the natural extension (in the sense of Lyubich and Minsky) of quadratic map $f(z) = e^{2 \pi i \theta}z + z^2$ with irrational $\theta$ of bounded type has only parabolic leaves except the invariant lift of the Siegel disk. We also show that though the natural extension of a rational function with a Cremer fixed point has a continuum of irregular points, it can not supply enough singularity to apply the Gross star theorem to find hyperbolic leaves.

Abstract: Let $f_\theta(z)=e^{2\pi i\theta}z+z^2$ be the quadratic polynomial having an indifferent fixed point at the origin. For any bounded type irrational number $\theta\in\mathbb{R}\setminus\mathbb{Q}$ and any rational number $\nu\in\mathbb{Q}$, we prove that $f_\theta$ and $f_\nu$ are conformally mateable, and that the mating is unique up to conjugacy by a M\"{o}bius map. This gives an affirmative (partial) answer to a question raised by Milnor in 2004. A crucial ingredient in the proof relies on an expansive property when iterating certain rational maps near Siegel disk boundaries. Combining this with the expanding property in repelling petals of parabolic points, we also prove that the Julia sets of a class of Siegel rational maps with parabolic points are locally connected.
