Strictly Managing Pattern-material to Prevent the Occurrence of the Ash Defects in Wax Pattern

Abstract:Resins base pattern materials for sol silicate mold shell in investment casting will lead to the irregular cavity in castings surface due to the repetitive reclamation resulting in the over-standard of ash content in pattern materials. It is pointed out that pattern materials should avoid being polluted by powder ash and sand particle by any means during pattern-making and dewaxing, and deposition temperature and time should be properly increased during reclamation of pattern materials with static deposition. In addition, rational gating system can be helpful to reducing the ash-inclusion in wax pattern.
