Abstract:We consider the existence of strong solution to liquid crystals system in critical Besov space, and give a criterion which is similar to Serrin's criterion on regularity of weak solution to Navier-Stokes equations.

Abstract:We are concerned with the well-posedness of the density-dependent incompressible viscoelastic fluid system. By Schauder-Tychonoff fixed point argument, when $\|{1}/{\rho_0}-1\|_{\dot{B}_{p,1}^{{N}/{p}}}$ is small, local well-posedness is showed to hold in Besov space. Furthermore, provided the initial data $(1/\rho_0 -1,\upsilon_0,U_0-I)$ is small under certain norm, we also get the existence of the global solution.

Abstract:The authors establish a blow-up criterion of the strong solutions to the compressible liquid crystals equations in terms of the gradient of the velocity only,similar to Beale-Kato-Majda criterion for the ideal incompressible flows and the criterion obtained by Huang and Xin for the compressible Navier-Stokes equations.The energy law and a higher order energy inequality will be employed to prove this criterion.The main difficulty comes from the vacuum at the initial time.

Abstract:The Cauchy problem for the three-dimensional compressible flow of nematic liquid crystals is considered. Existence and uniqueness of the global strong solution are established in critical Besov spaces provided that the initial datum is close to an equilibrium state $(1,{\bf 0}, \hat{{\bf d}})$ with a constant vector $\hat{{\bf d}}\in S^2$. The global existence result is proved via the local well-posedness and uniform estimates for proper linearized systems with convective terms.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate some priori estimates to provide the critical regularity criteria for incompressible Navier-Stokes equations on and super critical surface quasi-geostrophic equations on . Concerning the Navier-Stokes equations, we demonstrate that a Leray-Hopf solution is regular if , or in Lorentz space , with . Additionally, an alternative regularity condition is expressed as ( ), contingent upon a smallness assumption on the norm . For the surface quasi-geostrophic equations, we derive that a Leray-Hopf weak solution is smooth for any small enough. Similar to the case of Navier-Stokes equations, we derive regularity criteria in more refined spaces, i.e. Lorentz spaces and addition of two critical spaces , with smallness assumption on .

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the regularity problem of liquid crystal system in . More precisely, we show that the Serrin-type conditions imposed only on one component of the velocity and vertical derivative component of orientation field in Lebesgue spaces or Lorentz spaces, i.e., or with , implies the regularity of the Leray weak solutions. These results are immediate consequences of new local regularity criteria in term of suitable weak solutions.

Abstract:We consider a model of liquid crystals, based on a nonlinear hyperbolic system of differential equations, that represents an inviscid version of the model proposed by Qian and Sheng. A new concept of dissipative solution is proposed, for which a global-in-time existence theorem is shown. The dissipative solutions enjoy the following properties: (i) they exist globally in time for any finite energy initial data; (ii) dissipative solutions enjoying certain smoothness are classical solutions; (iii) a dissipative solution coincides with a strong solution originating from the same initial data as long as the latter exists.

Abstract:We investigate the blowup criterion of the barotropic compressible viscous fluids for the Cauchy problem, Dirichlet problem and Navier-slip boundary condition. The main novelty of this paper is two-fold: First, for the Cauchy problem and Dirichlet problem, we prove that a strong or smooth solution exists globally, provided that the vorticity of velocity satisfies Serrin's condition and the maximum norm of the divergence of the velocity is bounded. Second, for the Navier-slip boundary condition, we show that if both the maximum norm of the vorticity of velocity and the maximum norm of the divergence of velocity are bounded, then the solution exists globally. In particular, this criterion extends the well-known Beale-Kato-Majda's blowup criterion for the 3D incompressible Euler equations (Comm. Math. Phys. 94(1984):61-66) to the 3D barotropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations, and can be regarded as a complement for the work by Huang-Li-Xin (Comm. Math. Phys. 301(2011):23-35). The vacuum is allowed to exist here.
