The progress of the researches of the mathematical models of the air drag in the melt-blowing and spunbonded etc. were introduced ,and the direction for further in the non-woven Industry was pointed out.

Abstract:The progress on new types of agitated apparatus for polymer devolatilization was reviewed, while the key issues on the development of new devolatilization devices were analyzed. The characteristics of flow field,mixing,film forming and surface renewal are the key factors to strengthen the mass transfer process. Developing highly efficient and self-cleaning devices for polymer devolatilization is the major prospect in this field. The applications of computational fluid mechanics (CFD) simulations on transfer process in such devices were also discussed. Finite element method combined with mesh superposition technique(MST) and finite volume method combined with dynamic mesh technique have been used to deal with problems such as complex geometric blades and fins,twin-shaft rotating motion,tiny gaps within engaged areas and so on. Gas-liquid interface can be precisely tracked by means of volume of fluid(VOF) multiphase flow model. The film forming and surface renewal characteristics can be investigated,which contributes to learn more about the mass transfer mechanism. CFD numerical simulation offers a new idea for designing highly efficient devices for polymer devolatilization.

Abstract:The research progress in air drag mechanism and air jet flow field of was introduced for melt-blown non-woven fab- rics.The mathematical model of polymer melt blowing air drag and the influence of air jet flow field on the fiber diameter were e- valuated.It was pointed out that the research trend should be focused on the establishment of three-dimensional drag model and the exploration of the theory of nozzle air jet flow field of melt-blowing process.

Abstract:The research progress in air drag mechanism of spunbonding process and the performance of fiber-web fluidics in hydroentangling process was described. The mathematical modeling of air drag of polymer spunbonding process and the effects of nozzle orifice on the performance of hydroentangling jets and the reinforcement of hydroentangling fiber-web fluidics on the quality of hydroentangled fabrics were analyzed and evaluated, which was the research development trend of spunbonding technology for non-woven fabrics.

Abstract:Research of numerical simulation of heat and moisture transfer can provide theoretical foundation for the preparation and heat?moisture properties evaluation of porous textiles. Based on the heat and moisture transfer mechanism, new progress of the heat and moisture transfer through fabrics was summarized in terms of heat and moisture transfer models, numerical simulation methods and test methods of fabric heat?moisture transport properties, and the problems existing in the numerical simulation of heat and moisture transfer in fabric were analyzed. Taking into consideration interweave structure characteristics of fabric and the physical properties of the yarn was proposed when coupled heat and moisture transfer model established in three?dimensionl. In addition, the change of material physical properties depending on practical application conditions was considered in the process of numerical analysis, heat and moisture transfer numerical model of fabric need further optimize and the improvement of the accuracy.

Abstract:Since non-Newtonian fluids have played an important role in industry and our daily life,to make a prediction of future tendency in this research area,the past two years achievements about different aspects produced in our country and abroad are summarized.In recent years,the general research interests are focused on the following eight aspects including the rheological characteristics of non-Newtonian fluids,gas-liquid for two-phase flow,mass and heat transfer of non-Newtonian fluids,and numerical simulation methods.In the future,among these areas the primary problem are to find the relationship between the microstructures and rheological properties of non-Newtonian fluids,to simulate the flow by numerical methods exactly,and to develop a new function and related equipment of non-Newtonian fluids.

Abstract:This paper tests the performance of melt-blown non-woven fabric materials.Analysis and comparisons of the different samples weight,the breaking strength,the breaking elongation,the amount of breathable,and the water vapor permeability,etc.It was found that there are certain relationships between the non-woven material breaking strength,the breaking elongation,the amount of breathable,moisture permeability and thickness of the volume and weight.Obtained melt-blown non-woven fabric,spunbonded non-woven fabric and SMS nonwovens and so each have unique properties.It is suitable for development the various functional products in the textile industry on a wide range of applications.

Abstract:The dynamics of nanoparticle-laden multiphase flow is a new and important research field.To understand the basic interaction between phases and their physical nature,some problems are studied,including the closure for particle general dynamic equations;the construction of the coagulation kernel;the fundamental interaction between particle dynamics and flow coherent structures;the theoretical analysis on collision rate and some engineering applications.A new general mathematical method for solving the general dynamic equation is proposed,and applied in some engineering problems.

Abstract:In the present work, approaches of the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation, the Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) measurement, and the spinning experiment were applied to investigate the phenomenon of air recirculation in blunt-die melt-blown airflow. Firstly, the characteristics of air recirculation were explored by CFD simulation. The simulation results predicted that the air recirculation generated a lateral air velocity along the nose-piece direction. Then, the air circulation was experimental verified by using PIV technique. The PIV results confirmed the predicted conclusions of CFD simulation. Finally, the effect of air recirculation on the microfiber spinning during the melt-blown process was experimentally investigated by a spinning experiment using a blunt die with nose-piece width of 2.56 mm. The spinning results indicated that the air circulation had a tendency of splitting the normal polymeric stream, which played negative effect on the continuity of microfiber spinning. This work is expected to provide some clues to melt-blown die design and the quality control of nonwoven products.

Abstract:Fluidization technology has passed nearly 80 years since it was successfully applied commercially to the petroleum catalytic cracking process in the 1940s. In China, fluidization technology has experienced periods of fast and steady development track along with the reform and opening of the country after a difficult initial R＆D stage. This paper highlights the development of fluidization technology in China over the past several decades. After reviewing the origination and progress of fluidization research in the world, we devote the limited pages to significant contributions that Chinese scholars have made to the development of fluidization theory and technology in the world and China over the years, especially the achievements in industrializing fluidization technology, based on the authors’ best understanding and knowledge. Finally, we provide a brief perspective on the future research and development direction of fluidization technology in China.

Abstract:Non-Newtonian fluid multiphase flow and heat transfer phenomena were overviewed.Progresses in both experimental and numerical investigation on non-Newtonian fluid multiphase flow and heat transfer in pipes were analyzed based on open literatures.Some promising research interests and worthwhile themes on non-Newtonian multiphase flow and heat transfer in micro and mini-channels were proposed and discussed.Key technologies exploring into the non-Newtonian fluidic in micro and mini scale,such as test channel microfabrication,flow visualization and flow patterns identification,flow parameters measurement and non-Newtonian fluid convective heat transfer model,were discussed and presented.The visualized test loops of gas/non-Newtonian fluid two-phase flow and flow boiling heat transfer were designed and described.It is instructive for further exploring the characteristics of non-Newtonian multiphase flow and heat transfer in micro-and mini-channels.

Abstract:Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to employ a fractional approach to predict the permeability of nonwoven fabrics by simulating diffusion process. Design/methodology/approach – The method described here follows a similar approach to anomalous diffusion process. The relationship between viscous hydraulic permeability and electrical conductivity of porous material is applied in the derivation of fractional power law of permeability. Findings – The presented power law predicted by fractional method is validated by the results obtained from simulation of fluid flow around a 3D nonwoven porous material by using the lattice-Boltzmann approach. A relation between the fluid permeability and the fluid content (filling fraction), namely, following the power law of the form, was derived via a scaling argument. The exponent n is predominantly a function of pore-size distribution dimension and random walk dimension of the fluid. Originality/value – The fractional scheme by simulating diffusion process presented in this paper is a new method to predict wicking fluid flow through nonwoven fabrics. The forecast approach can be applied to the prediction of the permeability of other porous materials.
