Abstract:Copper(II)-catalyzed synthesis of sulfones from sulfinate salts and aryl halides was investigated by means of a combination of experiment and DFT calculation. Experimental results demonstrated the wide applicability of the title approach. The reaction mechanisms are revealed by in-situ IR and theoretical study. It reveals remarkable ligand effect the bidentate amine plays in the reaction, that is, it initially activats the C-I bond of iodobenzene so as to enhance the whole catalytic process. Abstract:The CuS catalyzed coupling reactions of aryl halides and diaryl diselenides were accelerated by the addition of Fe powder in only 3–12h with good to excellent yields. SEM–EDX indicated that the in situ iron oxides as support against catalyst agglomeration accelerated the reaction. This catalyst system was also demonstrated recyclable without significant loss of catalytic activity.

Abstract:Abstract: A highly efficient and simple cross-coupling reaction of N-aryl aluminum reagents with Naryl thiosuccinimides for the synthesis of diarylsulide derivatives using CuCl (20 mol%) as a catalyst is reported. Under the optimum reaction conditions, the coupling reaction between aryl aluminum reagents with different substituents and N-aryl thiosuccinimides with different substituents can be carried out smoothly with 18-94% isolated yields of diarylsulides. The method avoids the use of expensive transition metals, such as Pd, Ir, or Rh, phosphine ligands, and has the advantages of simple operation and high reaction efficiency. The structures of all the target compounds are confirmed by 1 HNMR and 13CNMR.

Abstract:Herein, we reported a copper(0)-catalyzed reductive coupling of disulfurating reagents and (hetero)aryl/alkyl halides. Abstract:A protocol for the copper-catalyzed C–S bond formation between aryl, alkyl, or heteroaryl thiols and aryl or heteroaryl halides is reported. The reaction is catalyzed by Cu2O which shows the highest catalytic activity with ethyl 2-oxocyclohexanecarboxylate ligand in DMSO at 80°C. The corresponding coupling products are obtained with good to excellent yields under relatively mild reaction conditions with good chemoselectivity and functional group tolerance.
