Abstract:This paper presents the IP core design of a serial interface engine （SIE） of USB 2.0 device controller, which meets the USB 2.0 specification. It uses the 8051 IP as the MCU for SoC design. The SIE is accomplished and verified on FPGA board.

Abstract:An IP core design of USB 2.0 interface is presented. The stress is put on the digital circuit implementation of USB 2.0 Protocol Controller, Buffer Controller and Work Mode Controller. The circuit can operate at both USB high-speed (480 Mbps) and full-speed (12 Mbps) rates. In order to achieve high-speed transaction request of (USB 2.0) and reduce the design complexity of the hardware, a structure of combining MCU firmware and hardware is proposed. A double-buffered structure is adopted in the design to reduce the hardware cost. The proposed structure of USB 2.0 interface has been verified with FPGA.

Abstract:An interface based on USB is designed for Data Acquirement System with DSP chips. Cypress EZ-USB technology and FPGA technology were used in this interface. This kind of interface can achieve high speed data communication between the Data Acquirement System and the PC in the USB 1.1 protocol, and it can meet the requirements of high speed and real-time requirements.

Abstract:The USB2.0 supports the high-speed signaling at 480 Mbps. It can meet the needs of image and voice signal transmitting. In this paper, after demonstration of the characters and functions of high speed digital circuit of USB2.0 link layer, a novel design and implementation method of data recovery circuits, which is based on all digital phase-looked loop (ADPLL), for the full-speed mode, as well as a new approach of parallel implementation of the encode/decode module in high-speed mode were proposed. The simulation results indicated that the circuit has reached 480MHz. A FPGA hardware simulation system was developed, in which the functions of link layer was verified.

Abstract:The paper proposes a novel transceiver in physical layer for high-speed serial data link based upon Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0, comprising transmitter and receiver. In the design, transmitter contains pre-and-main driver to satisfy slew rate of output data, receiver includes optimized topology to improve precision of received data. The circuit simulation is based on Cadence’s spectre software and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacture Corporation’s library of 0.25μm mixed-signal Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) model. The front and post-simulation results reveal that the transceiver designed can transmit and receive high-speed data in 480Mbps, which is in agreement with USB2.0 specification. The chip of physical-layer transceiver has been designed and implemented with 0.25μm standard CMOS technology.

Abstract:This paper designs and implements an Universal Serial Bus(USB)1.1 controller.It supports control,interrupt and bulk mode at full speed.The number of the endpoints of this IP is configurable.The IP works in a security chip and it breaks some of the bottleneck of the chip I/O communications.An FPGA verification platform is built with this USB 1.1 device IP and MCU 8051,and it can communicate with the PC.Other function modules in the security chip are tested on this platform.

Abstract:Aiming at the problem of the currently popular embedded operating system WinCE.NET,that is not fully supporting USB floppy driver,an implementing strategy for USB floppy based on WinCE.NET is put forward.By adopting stream interface driver model,the USB floppy driving program is developed;The control of USB floppy is implemented with UFI technology.The method and whole procedures for formatting USB floppy are given;the program has been applied successfully in ARM9-based multi-functional computerized embroidery machine.The program is simple and easy to use;it is good reference for developing driving program for similar USB devices.

Abstract:The USB has become the most popular bus standard of computer’s peripheral interface, and it is very meaningful to design a flexible and efficient USB Device Controller. A system of USB2.0 device is built based on SOPC in this paper, which acts as a USB Mass Storage device. Because both the processor and the device controller are soft IP cores that can be download into FPGA, the whole system is well configurable.

Abstract:The traditional USB 3.0 communication based on FPGA uses an external chip as a USB PHY or a USB controller including a USB PHY. This paper realizes a USB 3.0 controller by using FPGA resources, in which FPGA logic realizes a serial interface engine, and an FPGA internal transceiver is as a USB PHY. Used slices percent after implementation is 4.59% in Kintex-7 325t. The test result shows that the speed of USB 3.0 is more than 320 MB/s bulk-in and bulk-out transfers.

Abstract:This paper presents a control flow oriented software/hardware co-design method and procedure,which are based on event management.With this method,the USB2.0 host controller in system-on-chip(SOC) system is designed,and the modules of scheduler unit in hardware are analyzed.The verilog hardware-description language(HDL) in resistor transistor logic(RTL) level of these modules is compiled with synopsis’s design compiler in 0.18μm CMOS technology.Compared with other similar designs,it is shown that this hardware/software co-design method can raise the potential quality and shorten the development duration of SoC chips,especially for protocol application.

Abstract:To enhance flexibility of embed system,USB floppy driver is developed under WinCE.NET,based on the structure of stream interface driver,the characteristics of load mechanism of stream interface driver,UFI technology is used to control USB floppy,USB floppy format method and detailed process are presented finally.The driver has been successfully applied in the regional water monitoring and measuring instrument based on ARM9,and it extended the functionality of the instrument,a good reference value is provided for similar device.

Abstract:To be different from the universal asynchronous design in multichip, a new-style design of the synchronous system on monolithic chip is presented to apply to exchange and management of business cards in this paper. Every part is accomplished and some improvement is made in the circuits to decrease power consumption. In addition, we adopt SOC (system on chip) design to reduce fabrication and system test costs, introduce a controllable high-speed infrared driver to enhance the security and quality of communication, and design reduced instruction set to enhance the quality and efficiency of business cards management and depress systematic redundancy. This chip is fabricated in 0.6 μm mixed-signal CMOS process (double poly, double metal), packaged as well as tested primarily.
