Abstract:An interface based on USB is designed for Data Acquirement System with DSP chips. Cypress EZ-USB technology and FPGA technology were used in this interface. This kind of interface can achieve high speed data communication between the Data Acquirement System and the PC in the USB 1.1 protocol, and it can meet the requirements of high speed and real-time requirements.

Abstract:The USB2.0 supports the high-speed signaling at 480 Mbps. It can meet the needs of image and voice signal transmitting. In this paper, after demonstration of the characters and functions of high speed digital circuit of USB2.0 link layer, a novel design and implementation method of data recovery circuits, which is based on all digital phase-looked loop (ADPLL), for the full-speed mode, as well as a new approach of parallel implementation of the encode/decode module in high-speed mode were proposed. The simulation results indicated that the circuit has reached 480MHz. A FPGA hardware simulation system was developed, in which the functions of link layer was verified.
A Novel Data Processing Circuit in High-Speed Serial Communication

Abstract:A novel data processing circuit in high-speed serial communication has been demonstrated in this work. The circuit, including a serializer and a frequency divider, was developed to convert the transmission signals into the desired format. The chip design is based on TSMC 0.25μm mixed signal model, and semi-custom design methodology is used. Pre- and post-layout simulation results indicated that the speed of circuit has reached 480MHz. Moreover, the data are processed properly in agreement with USB2.0 specification.

Abstract:A monolithic Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) used for high-speed serial link is presented. The PLL includes a phase frequency detector, a charge pump, a low pass filter, a voltage controlled oscillator and a frequency divider .We emphasized the optimization of the voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) consisted of differential inverter ring. The design of PLL chip is based on 0.25μm CMOS mixed-signal model of TSMC. The pre and post-simulation results of the circuit indicate that the circuit produces 480MHz frequency clock with a low jitter of only 2ps rms and the lock time of 1.8us.It meets the need of USB2.0 interface circuit entirely.

Abstract:The paper proposes a novel transceiver in physical layer for high-speed serial data link based upon Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0, comprising transmitter and receiver. In the design, transmitter contains pre-and-main driver to satisfy slew rate of output data, receiver includes optimized topology to improve precision of received data. The circuit simulation is based on Cadence’s spectre software and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacture Corporation’s library of 0.25μm mixed-signal Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) model. The front and post-simulation results reveal that the transceiver designed can transmit and receive high-speed data in 480Mbps, which is in agreement with USB2.0 specification. The chip of physical-layer transceiver has been designed and implemented with 0.25μm standard CMOS technology.

Abstract:To solve the problem that we always need external crystal to provide clock for the chip in the USB full speed equipment,an implemented method of low power consumption phased locked loop(PLL) applying to the USB full speed equipment is proposed.According to the data transmission rate in the USB full speed equipment,based on the standard phase locked loop structure,a clock information extraction unit and a low power control module are added,an improved phase frequency detector(PFD) and differential voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) is implemented to the proposed phase locked loop.And the phase locked loop layout is completed with 0.35 μm technology.Furthermore,the performance of proposed phase locked loop is verified,and the results meet the requirement of the USB protocol.

Abstract:A high- speed dual- channel Data- Acquisition System based on the CY7C68013 and MAX1195 is discussed in the paper. In the design, the FX2’s feature, the GPIF, which can totally remove the bottleneck caused by the 8051’s CPU, is used to achieve the maximum USB2.0 performance. No other microprocessor or CPLD or FPGA is needed. The paper has discussed both the hard- ware design and the software design of the system in great detail, including the firmware of the CY7C68013 and the user application program of the computer side. The system has been tested with a laser longitudinal mode analyzer experiment which proved the de- sign had achieved its original goals.

Abstract:A high-speed control module and communication module for solving the bottleneck of data acquisition speed of ECT system is developed. The computing and control unit includes a digital signal processor (ADSP-2188N) and a complex programmable logic device (CPLD). The communication module of the designed system is developed based on USB 2.0 technology, which can implement high-speed communication between ECT system and PC. Test results show that the data acquisition speed of over 2264 frames per second has been achieved, which break through the bottleneck of data acquisition speed of ECT system and can meet the real-time requirement of the industrial processes.

Abstract:In this paper, a high-speed data transmission system based on FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and USB 2.0 (Universal Serial Bus) technology is designed. Firstly, we introduce the hardware of the data transmission system, which includes data acquisition circuit, transmission circuit and power conversion circuit, etc. Secondly, the corresponding software design including USB firmware program, USB driver and firmware modification are described in detail. Finally, the corresponding experiment has been carried out, which show that the developed system will help to achieve the data transmission system with the characteristics of high-speed, integration and low power consumption, etc.

Abstract:An IP core design of USB 2.0 interface is presented. The stress is put on the digital circuit implementation of USB 2.0 Protocol Controller, Buffer Controller and Work Mode Controller. The circuit can operate at both USB high-speed (480 Mbps) and full-speed (12 Mbps) rates. In order to achieve high-speed transaction request of (USB 2.0) and reduce the design complexity of the hardware, a structure of combining MCU firmware and hardware is proposed. A double-buffered structure is adopted in the design to reduce the hardware cost. The proposed structure of USB 2.0 interface has been verified with FPGA.

Abstract:The communication interface of power electronic building blocks(PEBBs) was analyzed and designed to realize the interconnection of PEBBs.Taking the control system of three-phase voltage source inverter(VSI) as an example,the system was divided into five interfaces,and each interface's transfer variant and communication bandwidth were calculated.According to each interface's bandwidth,the partition of communication system was determined based on the demand of power electronic system integration.The PEBBs' communication interfaces were designed using USB interface,and the PEBBs based three-phase VSI was also designed.The result of verification example shows that the design of PEBBs' communication interface and the partition of communication system can satisfy the demand of power electronic system integration.This partition can be used to design the PEBBs' communication interface adopting various interfaces.

Abstract:To improve data transmission performance of the data acquisition card,a design of High-speed Data Transmission System was proposed.Using Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA),adopting Verilog HDL of hardware description language,the design of modularization and DMA transmission way,it was implemented the logical function in FPGA,and eventually implemented the data transmission with high-speed.Through simulation and verification,this design was feasible and could satisfy the performance requirements of data transmission in the high-speed data acquisition card.

Abstract:A TMS320LF2407A-based serial communication system was developed to realize communications between digital signal processor(DSP) and other controllers.This system employed an Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter(UART) module and a Serial Peripheral Interface(SPI) module to connect the DSP to a host PC and a client display peripheral respectively.Detailed principle and method for hardware design were introduced;communication programs and relative software structure were given.Communication experiments showed that the system was simple in circuit design and stable and accurate in data transmission.It has reference value and practical benefit to exploit communications of DSP system.
