Abstract:The main idea of [4] was that structures built from periodic prime ideals have better properties from the usual ones built from invariant ideals; but unable to work with periodic ideals alone, we had to generalise further to a somewhat ephemeral setting called virtual ideals. This text has two purposes. It corrects an error in [4] discovered by Tom Scanlon's UCB seminar, recovering all results for all virtual ideals. In addition, based on results in [3], we describe a wide family of difference equations where virtual ideals reduce to periodic ideals.

Abstract:We provide elementary proofs of Lemmas 7.1 and 7.4 appearing in "The Cartan-Hadamard conjecture and the Little Prince", by B. Kloeckner and G. Kuperberg. The Lemmas play an important role in the derivation of novel isoperimetric inequalities. The original proofs relied on Sage, a symbolic algebra package, to factor certain algebraic varieties into irreducible components.

Abstract:Journal of Algebra and Its Applications, Ahead of Print. In this survey, we study the defining ideals [math] of the space monomial curves [math] for primitive Pythagorean triples (PPT) [math]. We give a minimal system of generators of [math]. Hence, we provide the formula for Frobenius number of a PPT. Additionally, we show that over every field of arbitrary characteristic, there are distinct primitive Pythagorean triples such that their symbolic Rees algebras are noetherian.

In the erratum/addentum, we amend Theorems 1.3 and 1.11 of <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1202.5442v2" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1202.5442v2">arXiv:1202.5442v2</a>: Finitude géométrique en géométrie de Hilbert. We seize the opportunity to show that in round Hilbert geometry, geometrical finiteness (gf) is equivalent to cusp-uniform action and to fill some small gaps that appear in two other proofs of <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1202.5442v2" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1202.5442v2">arXiv:1202.5442v2</a>.

Abstract:Using the theory of "higher structure maps" from generic rings for free resolutions of length three, we give a classification of grade 3 perfect ideals with small type and deviation in local rings of equicharacteristic zero, extending the Buchsbaum-Eisenbud structure theorem on Gorenstein ideals and realizing it as the type D case of an ADE correspondence. We also deduce restrictions on Betti tables in the graded setting for such ideals.

Was Ulam right? II: Small width and general ideals

Abstract:We continue our study of Sierpinski-type colourings. In contrast to the prequel paper, we focus here on colourings for ideals stratified by their completeness degree. In particular, improving upon Ulam's theorem and its extension by Hajnal, it is proved that if $\kappa$ is a regular uncountable cardinal that is not weakly compact in L, then there is a universal witness for non-weak-saturation of $\kappa$-complete ideals. Specifically, there are $\kappa$-many decompositions of $\kappa$ such that, for every $\kappa$-complete ideal $J$ over $\kappa$, and every $B\in J^+$, one of the decompositions shatters $B$ into $\kappa$-many $J^+$-sets. A second focus here is the feature of narrowness of colourings, one already present in the theorem of Sierpinski. This feature ensures that a colouring suitable for an ideal is also suitable for all superideals possessing the requisite completeness degree. It is proved that unlike successors of regulars, every successor of a singular cardinal admits such a narrow colouring.

Abstract:As a natural extension of the ongoing development of a theory of ideals in commutative quantales with an identity element, this article aims to study into the analysis of certain topological properties exhibited by distinguished classes of ideals. These ideals are equipped with quantale topologies. The primary objectives encompass characterizing quantale spaces exhibiting sobriety, examining several conditions pertaining to quasi-compactness, and demonstrating that quantale spaces comprised of proper ideals adhere to the spectral properties as defined by Hochster. We introduce the notion of a strongly disconnected spaces and show that for a quantale with zero Jacobson radical, strongly disconnected quantale spaces containing all maximal ideals of the quantale imply existence of non-trivial idempotent elements in the quantale. Additionally, a sufficient criterion for establishing the connectedness of a quantale space is presented. Finally, we discuss on continuous maps between quantale spaces.

Abstract:We study Egorov ideals, that is ideals on $\omega$ for which the Egorov's theorem for ideal versions of pointwise and uniform convergences holds. We show that a non-pathological $\bf{\Sigma^0_2}$ ideal is Egorov if and only if it is countably generated. In particular, up to isomorphism, there are only three non-pathological $\bf{\Sigma^0_2}$ Egorov ideals. On the other hand, we construct $2^\omega$ pairwise non-isomorphic Borel Egorov ideals. Moreover, we characterize when a product of ideals is Egorov.

Stanley-Reisner Ideals with Pure Resolutions

Abstract:This paper investgates Stanley-Reisner ideals with pure resolutions. We first describe two infinite families of such ideals associated to highly symmetric complexes. We then prove a partial analogue to the first Boij-Söderberg Conjecture for Stanley-Reisner ideals, by detailing an algorithm for constructing Stanley-Reisner ideals with pure Betti diagrams of any given shape, save for an initial shift.

Abstract:We study the Rees valuations and rational powers of several classes of invariant ideals, providing explicit descriptions in terms of certain polyhedra. This allows us to show that a version of Musta\c{t}\u{a}-Takagi's summation formula for rational powers holds for these ideals. Moreover, for arbitrary ideals over the complex numbers, we prove a weaker version of this formula that holds for high enough rational numbers. Our methods lead to a definition of rational powers of ideal sheaves in normal complex varieties inspired by work of Lejeune-Jalabert-Teissier and Lazarsfeld.
