Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the rigidity problems for geometric ideals in uniform Roe algebras associated to discrete metric spaces of bounded geometry. These ideals were introduced by Chen and Wang, and can be fully characterised in terms of ideals in the associated coarse structures. Our main result is that if two geometric ideals in uniform Roe algebras are stably isomorphic, then the coarse spaces associated to these ideals are coarsely equivalent. We also discuss the case of ghostly ideals and pose some open questions.

Abstract:The notions of controlled truncations for operators in the Roe algebras C* (X) of a coarse space (X, ε) with uniformly locally finite coarse structure, and rank distributions on (X, ε) are introduced. It is shown that the controlled propagation operators in an ideal I of C* (X) are exactly the controlled truncations of elements in I. It follows that the lattice of the ideals of C* (X) in which controlled propagation operators are dense is isomorphic to the lattice of all rank distributions on (X, ε). If X is a discrete metric space with Yu's property A, then the ideal structure of the Roe algebra C* (X is completely determined by the rank distributions on X. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification 46L80, 46L89.

Abstract:Let$C_u^* (X)$ be the uniform Roe algebra of a coarse space X with uniformly locally finite coarse structure. We show that an operator G in$C_u^* (X)$ is a ghost element if and only if the finite propagation operators in the principal ideal 〈G〉 are all compact operators. In contrast, if X is a discrete metric space with Yu’s property (A), then any ideal in$C_u^* (X)$ is the closure of the finite propagation operators in the ideal.
Roe algebras of coarse spaces via coarse geometric modules

Abstract:We provide a construction of Roe (C*-)algebras of general coarse spaces in terms of coarse geometric modules. This extends the classical theory of Roe algebras of metric spaces and gives a unified framework to deal with either uniform or non-uniform Roe algebras, algebras of operators of controlled propagation, and algebras of quasi-local operators; both in the metric and general coarse geometric setting. The key new definitions are that of coarse geometric module and coarse support of operators between coarse geometric modules. These let us construct natural bridges between coarse geometry and operator algebras. We then study the general structure of Roe-like algebras, and investigate several structural properties, such as admitting Cartan subalgebras or computing their intersection with the compact operators. Lastly, we prove that assigning to a coarse space the K-theory groups of its Roe algebra(s) is a natural functorial operation.

Abstract:In this paper, for a discrete group with property (RD), we construct a smooth subalgebra of a certain subalgebra in the (uniform) Roe algebra of this group. And using Lafforgue's KKban-Theory, under certain conditions, we prove that this certain subalgebra and the (uniform) Roe algebra have the same K-theory groups. Moreover, our smooth subalgebra and the (uniform) Roe algebra have the same K-theory groups. Our result can be viewed as a smooth subalgebra construction of the (uniform) Roe algebra, which is, as far as we know, the first occurrence in literature.

Abstract:Let I be a perfect ideal of height two in and let denote its Hilbert–Burch matrix. When has linear entries, the algebraic structure of the Rees algebra is well-understood under the additional assumption that the minimal number of generators of I is bounded locally up to codimension . In the first part of this article, we determine the defining ideal of under the weaker assumption that such condition holds only up to codimension , generalizing previous work of P. H. L. Nguyen. In the second part, we use generic Bourbaki ideals to extend our findings to Rees algebras of linearly presented modules of projective dimension one.

A rigidity framework for Roe-like algebras

Abstract:We give a complete solution to the problem of C*-rigidity for (extended) locally compact metric spaces. Namely, we show that (stable) isomorphisms among Roe algebras always give rise to coarse equivalences. To do so, we develop a framework to study rigidity problems for Roe-like C*-algebras of countably generated coarse spaces. This allows us to provide a unified proof of C*-rigidity for Roe algebras, algebras of operators of controlled propagation, and algebras of quasi-local operators. As further applications, we prove that the outer automorphism groups of all of these algebras are isomorphic to the group of coarse equivalences of the starting coarse space.

Abstract:Let $A$ be a finitary algebra over a finite field $k$, and $A$-$mod$ the category of finite dimensional left $A$-modules. Let $\mathcal{H}(A)$ be the corresponding Hall algebra, and for a positive integer $r$ let $D_{r}(A)$ be the subspace of $\mathcal{H}(A)$ which has a basis consisting of isomorphism classes of modules in $A$-$mod$ with at least $r+1$ indecomposable direct summands. If $A$ is hereditary of type $A_{n}$, then $D_{r}(A)$ is known to be the kernel of the map from the twisted Hall algebra to the quantized Schur algebra indexed by $n+1$ and $r$. For any $A$, we determine necessary and sufficient conditions for $D_{r}(A)$ to be an ideal and some conditions for $D_{r}(A)$ to be a subring of $\mathcal{H}(A)$. For $A$ the path algebra of a quiver, we also determine necessary and sufficient conditions for $D_{r}(A)$ to be a subring of $\mathcal{H}(A)$.

Abstract:Let be an inclusion of -algebras. We study the relationship between the regular ideals of B and regular ideals of A . We show that if is a regular -inclusion and there is a faithful invariant conditional expectation from A onto B , then there is an isomorphism between the lattice of regular ideals of A and invariant regular ideals of B . We study properties of inclusions preserved under quotients by regular ideals. This includes showing that if is a Cartan inclusion and J is a regular ideal in A , then is a Cartan subalgebra of A / J . We provide a description of regular ideals in the reduced crossed product of a C -algebra by a discrete group.

Abstract:Ideals in Leavitt path algebras share many properties with those of integral domains. Since studying factorizations of ideals in integral domains into special types of ideals (e.g., prime, prime-power, primary, irreducible, semiprime, quasi-primary) has proved fruitful, we conduct an analogous investigation for Leavitt path algebras. Specifically, we classify the proper ideals in these rings that admit factorizations into products of each of the above types. We also classify the Leavitt path algebras where every proper ideal admits a factorization of these sorts, as well as those Leavitt path algebras where every proper ideal is of one of those types.

Abstract:Let $E$ be a module of projective dimension one over $R=k[x_1,\ldots,x_d]$. If $E$ is presented by a matrix $\varphi$ with linear entries and the number of generators of $E$ is bounded locally up to codimension $d-1$, the Rees ring $\mathcal{R}(E)$ is well understood. In this paper, we study $\mathcal{R}(E)$ when this generation condition holds only up to codimension $s-1$, for some $s<d$. Moreover, we provide a generating set for the ideal defining this algebra by employing a method of successive approximations of the Rees ring. Although we employ techniques regarding Rees rings of modules, our findings recover and extend known results for Rees algebras of perfect ideals with grade two in the case that $\mathrm{rank} \, E=1$.

Among other results, we also calculate the minimal sizes of generating sets (some of our presentations use such minimal-size generating sets), and show that the singular part of the rook partition monoid is generated by its idempotents.

Abstract:Journal of Algebra and Its Applications, Ahead of Print. In this paper, we introduce a special type of prime ideals in [math]-algebras. We define the concept of a [math]-prime ideal, which is a proper ideal [math] that preserves the property of being prime with respect to the ideal [math]. If [math] is not a subset of [math], then we call the [math]-prime ideal an [math]-prime ideal. We investigate the relationships between these ideals and their connections to minimal prime ideals and maximal ideals. Additionally, we explore various properties such as extension, transitivity, meet, join, and annihilator. Finally, we study prime ideals in [math]-algebras of continuous functions.

In this survey, we study the defining ideals [math] of the space monomial curves [math] for primitive Pythagorean triples (PPT) [math]. We give a minimal system of generators of [math]. Hence, we provide the formula for Frobenius number of a PPT. Additionally, we show that over every field of arbitrary characteristic, there are distinct primitive Pythagorean triples such that their symbolic Rees algebras are noetherian.

Abstract:The goal of this paper is to study the Rees algebra $\mathfrak{R}(I)$and the special fiber ring $\mathfrak{F}(I)$ for a family of ideals. Let $R=\mathbb{K}[x_1, \ldots, x_d]$ with $d\geq 4$ be a polynomial ring with homogeneous maximal ideal $\mathfrak{m}$. We study the $R$-ideals $I$, which are $\mathfrak{m}$-primary, Gorenstein, generated in degree 2, and have a Gorenstein linear resolution. In the smallest case, $d=4$, this family includes the ideals of $2\times 2$ minors of a general $3\times 3$ matrix of linear forms in $R$. We show that the defining ideal of the Rees algebra will be of fiber type. That is, the defining ideal of the Rees algebra is generated by the defining ideals of the special fiber ring and of the symmetric algebra. We use the fact that these ideals differ from $\mathfrak{m}^2$ by exactly one minimal generator to describe the defining ideal $\mathfrak{F}(I)$ as a sub-ideal of the defining ideal of $\mathfrak{F}(\mathfrak{m}^2)$, which is well known to be the ideal of $2\times 2$ minors of a symmetric matrix of variables.

Abstract:A distinguished family of completely prime primitive ideals in the universal enveloping algebra of a reductive Lie algebra ${\mathfrak g}$ over ${\mathbb C}$ are those ideals constructed from one-dimensional representations of finite $W$-algebras. We refer to these ideals as Losev--Premet ideals. For ${\mathfrak g}$ simple of classical type, we prove that for a Losev-Premet ideal $I$ in $U({\mathfrak g})$, there exists a Losev-Premet ideal $I_0$ for a certain Levi subalgebra ${\mathfrak g}_0$ of ${\mathfrak g}$ such that associated variety of $I_0$ is the closure of a rigid nilpotent orbit in ${\mathfrak g}_0$ and $I$ is obtained from $I_0$ by parabolic induction. This is deduced from the corresponding statement about one-dimensional representations of finite $W$-algebras.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a notion of twisted Roe algebras and a twisted coarse Baum-Connes conjecture. We study the basic properties of twisted Roe algebras, including a coarse analogue of the imprimitivity theorem for metric spaces with a structure of coarse fibrations. We show that the coarse Baum-Connes conjecture holds for a metric space with a coarse fibration structure when the base space and the fiber satisfy the twisted coarse Baum-Connes conjecture with coefficients. As an application, the coarse Baum-Connes conjecture holds for a finitely generated group which is an extension of coarsely embeddable groups.
