Abstract:We classify right coideal subalgebras of the finite-dimensional quotient of the quantized enveloping algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ and that of the quantized coordinate algebra $\mathcal{O}_q(SL_2)$ at a root of unity $q$ of odd order. All those coideal subalgebras are described by generators and relations.

Abstract:For a quantum group, we study those right coideal subalgebras, for which all irreducible representations are one-dimensional. If a right coideal subalgebra is maximal with this property, then we call it a Borel subalgebra. Besides the positive part of the quantum group and its reflections, we find new unfamiliar Borel subalgebras, for example, ones containing copies of the quantum Weyl algebra. Given a Borel subalgebra, we study its induced (Verma-)modules and prove among others that they have all irreducible finite-dimensional modules as quotients. We give two structural conjectures involving the associated graded right coideal subalgebra, which we prove in certain cases. In particular, they predict the shape of all triangular Borel subalgebras. As examples, we determine all Borel subalgebras of $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ and $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_3)$ and discuss the induced modules.

Abstract:We investigate the theory of induction in the setting of doubles of coideal $*$-subalgebras of compact quantum group Hopf $*$-algebras. We then exemplify parts of this theory in the particular case of quantum $SL(2,\mathbb{R})$, and compute the decomposition of the regular representation for quantum $SL(2,\mathbb{R})$ into irreducibles.

Abstract:We categorify a coideal subalgebra of the quantum group of $mathfrak{sl}_{2r+1}$ by introducing a $2$-category `a la Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier, and show that self-dual indecomposable $1$-morphisms categorify the canonical basis of this algebra. This allows us to define a categorical action of this coideal algebra on the categories of modules over cohomology rings of partial flag varieties and on the BGG category $mathcal{O}$ of type B/C.

Abstract:We define for real $q$ a unital $*$-algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}(2,\mathbb{R}))$ quantizing the universal enveloping $*$-algebra of $\mathfrak{sl}(2,\mathbb{R})$. The $*$-algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}(2,\mathbb{R}))$ is realized as a $*$-subalgebra of the Drinfeld double of $U_q(\mathfrak{su}(2))$ and its dual Hopf $*$-algebra $\mathcal{O}_q(SU(2))$, generated by the equatorial Podleś sphere coideal $*$-subalgebra $\mathcal{O}_q(K\backslash SU(2))$ of $\mathcal{O}_q(SU(2))$ and its associated orthogonal coideal $*$-subalgebra $U_q(\mathfrak{k}) \subseteq U_q(\mathfrak{su}(2))$. We then classify all the irreducible $*$-representations of $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}(2,\mathbb{R}))$.

Integrable modules over quantum symmetric pair coideal subalgebras

Abstract:We introduce the notion of integrable modules over $\imath$quantum groups (a.k.a. quantum symmetric pair coideal subalgebras). After determining a presentation of such modules, we prove that each integrable module over a quantum group is integrable when restricted to an $\imath$quantum group. As an application, we show that the space of matrix coefficients of all simple integrable modules over an $\imath$quantum group of finite type with specific parameters coincides with Bao-Song's coordinate ring of the $\imath$quantum group.

Abstract:Some filtrations of the tensor product of a highest weight module and a lowest weight module over quantum group $U_q(\mathfrak g)$ are constructed in \cite{LZ:2009} and one can use them to define some ideals of the modified quantized enveloping algebra. It is shown that the quotient algebras inherit canonical bases from the modified quantized enveloping algebra and are dual to the quantum coordinate ring defined by Kashiwara for symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebra $\mathfrak g$.
Binomial ideals in quantum tori and quantum affine spaces

Abstract:The article targets binomial ideals in quantum tori and quantum affine spaces. First, noncommutative analogs of known results for commutative (Laurent) polynomial rings are obtained, including the following: Under the assumption of an algebraically closed base field, it is proved that primitive ideals are binomial, as are radicals of binomial ideals and prime ideals minimal over binomial ideals. In the case of a quantum torus $\mathcal{T}_{\bf{q}}$, the results are strongest: In this situation, the binomial ideals are parametrized by characters on sublattices of the free abelian group whose group algebra is the center of $\mathcal{T}_{\bf{q}}$; the sublattice-character pairs corresponding to primitive ideals as well as to radicals and minimal primes of binomial ideals are determined. As for occurrences of binomial ideals in quantum algebras: It is shown that cocycle-twisted group algebras of finitely generated abelian groups are quotients of quantum tori modulo binomial ideals. Another appearance is as follows: Cocycle-twisted semigroup algebras of finitely generated commutative monoids, as well as quantum affine toric varieties, are quotients of quantum affine spaces modulo certain types of binomial ideals.

Quantum Grassmannians and their Associated Quantum Schubert Varieties at roots of unity

Abstract:We study the PI degree of various quantum algebras at roots of unity, including quantum Grassmannians, quantum Schubert varieties, partition subalgebras, and their associated quantum affine spaces. By a theorem of De Concini and Procesi, the PI degree of partition subalgebras and their associated quantum affine spaces is controlled by skew-symmetric integral matrices associated to (Cauchon-Le) diagrams. We prove that the invariant factors of these matrices are always powers of 2. This allows us to compute explicitly the PI degree of partition subalgebras. Our results also apply to certain completely prime (homogeneous) quotients of partition subalgebras. In particular, our results allow us to extend results of Jakobsen and Jondrup regarding the PI degree of quantum determinantal rings at roots of unity [JJ01] and we present a method to construct an irreducible representation of maximal dimension for quantum determinantal ideals. Building on these results, we use the strong connection between partition subalgebras and quantum Schubert varieties through noncommutative dehomogenisation [LR08] to obtain expressions for the PI degree of quantum Schubert varieties. In particular, we compute the PI degree of quantum Grassmannians.

Abstract:A string basis is constructed for each subalgebra of invariants of the function algebra on the quantum special linear group. By analyzing the string basis for a particular subalgebra of invariants, we obtain a ``canonical basis'' for every finite dimensional irreducible $U_q({\mathfrak{sl}}(n))$-module. It is also shown that the algebra of functions on any quantum homogeneous space is generated by quantum minors.

These subalgebras play a role of isotropy subgroups for matrices solving $\mathbb{Z}_2$-graded reflection equation. They generalize quantum (pseudo)-symmetric pairs of Letzter-Kolb-Regelskis-Vlaar.

Abstract:As a natural generalization of ordinary Lie algebras we introduce the concept of quantum Lie algebras . We define these in terms of certain adjoint submodules of quantized enveloping algebras endowed with a quantum Lie bracket given by the quantum adjoint action. The structure constants of these algebras depend on the quantum deformation parameter q and they go over into the usual Lie algebras when q = 1. The notions of q-conjugation and q-linearity are introduced. q-linear analogues of the classical antipode and Cartan involution are defined and a generalized Killing form, q-linear in the first entry and linear in the second, is obtained. These structures allow the derivation of symmetries between the structure constants of quantum Lie algebras. The explicitly worked out examples of and illustrate the results.

Abstract:We prove that the quantum graph algebra and the quantum moduli algebra associated to a punctured sphere and complex semisimple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ are Noetherian rings and finitely generated rings over $\mathbb{C}(q)$. Moreover, we show that these two properties still hold on $\mathbb{C}\big[q,q^{-1}\big]$ for the integral version of the quantum graph algebra. We also study the specializations $\mathcal{L}_{0,n}^\epsilon$ of the quantum graph algebra at a root of unity $\epsilon$ of odd order, and show that $\mathcal{L}_{0,n}^\epsilon$ and its invariant algebra under the quantum group $U_\epsilon(\mathfrak{g})$ have classical fraction algebras which are central simple algebras of PI degrees that we compute.

Abstract:We study the bimodule structure of the quantum function algebra for type A at roots of unity and prove that it admits a filtration with factors isomorphic to the tensor products of the dual of the Weyl modules $V^*_{\lambda}\otimes V^*_{-\omega_0\lambda}$. Abstract:For a locally compact quantum group $\mathbb{G}$, a (left) coideal is a (left) $\mathbb{G}$-invariant von Neumann subalgebra of $L^\infty(\mathbb{G})$. We introduce and analyze various generalizations of amenability and coamenability to coideals of discrete and compact quantum groups. We focus on a particular class of coideals found in the category of compact quantum groups, which are associated with a compact quasi-subgroup. This class includes all coideals of the quotient type. We also introduce the notion of a Furstenberg-Hamana boundary for representations of discrete quantum groups and use it to study amenability and coamenability properties of coideals. We then prove that a coideal of a compact quantum group that is associated with a compact quasi-subgroup is coamenable if and only if its codual coideal is $\mathbb{G}$-injective. If $\mathbb{G}$ is a unimodular or an exact discrete quantum group, we can replace $\mathbb{G}$-injectivity in the latter statement with the weaker condition of relative amenability. This result leads to a complete characterization of the unique trace property. Specifically, a unimodular discrete quantum group $\mathbb{G}$ has the unique trace property if and only if the action of $\mathbb{G}$ on its noncommutative Furstenberg boundary is faithful. We also demonstrated that if a unimodular discrete quantum group $\mathbb{G}$ is $C^*$-simple then it has the unique trace property. These findings are the quantum analogs of the groundbreaking results of Breuillard, Kalantar, Kennedy, and Ozawa and they provide answers to questions posted by Kalantar, Kasprzak, Skalski, and Vergnioux.

A Deleting Derivations Algorithm for Quantum Nilpotent Algebras at Roots of Unity

Abstract:This paper extends an algorithm and canonical embedding by Cauchon to a large class of quantum algebras. It applies to iterated Ore extensions over a field satisfying some suitable assumptions which cover those of Cauchon's original setting but also allows for roots of unity. The extended algorithm constructs a quantum affine space $A'$ from the original quantum algebra $A$ via a series of change of variables within the division ring of fractions $\mathrm{Frac}(A)$. The canonical embedding takes a completely prime ideal $P\lhd A$ to a completely prime ideal $Q\lhd A'$ such that when $A$ is a PI algebra, ${\rm PI}\text{-}{\rm deg}(A/P) = {\rm PI}\text{-}{\rm deg}(A'/Q)$. When the quantum parameter is a root of unity we can state an explicit formula for the PI degree of completely prime quotient algebras. This paper ends with a method to construct a maximum dimensional irreducible representation of $A/P$ given a suitable irreducible representation of $A'/Q$ when $A$ is PI.

Abstract:We classify the finite dimensional representations of the quantum symmetric pair coideal subalgebra $B_{\mathbf c}$ of type $DII$ corresponding to the symmetric pair $(so(2N),so(2N-1))$. For $B_{\mathbf c}$ defined over an arbitrary field $k$ and $q\in k$ not a root of unity we establish a one-to-one correspondence between finite dimensional, simple $B_{\mathbf c}$-modules and dominant integral weights for $so(2N-1)$. We use specialisation to show that the category of finite dimensional $B_{\mathbf c}$-modules is semisimple if $\mathrm{char}(k)=0$ and $q$ is transcendental over ${\mathbb Q}$. In this case the characters of simple $B_{\mathbf c}$-modules are given by Weyl's character formula. This means in particular that the quantum symmetric pair of type $DII$ can be used to obtain Gelfand-Tsetlin bases for irreducible representations of the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group $U_q(so(2N))$.

Abstract:The present paper develops a general theory of quantum group analogs of symmetric pairs for involutive automorphism of the second kind of symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebras. The resulting quantum symmetric pairs are right coideal subalgebras of quantized enveloping algebras. They give rise to triangular decompositions, including a quantum analog of the Iwasawa decomposition, and they can be written explicitly in terms of generators and relations. Moreover, their centers and their specializations are determined. The constructions follow G. Letzter's theory of quantum symmetric pairs for semisimple Lie algebras. The main additional ingredient is the classification of involutive automorphisms of the second kind of symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebras due to Kac and Wang. The resulting theory comprises various classes of examples which have previously appeared in the literature, such as q-Onsager algebras and the twisted q-Yangians introduced by Molev, Ragoucy, and Sorba.
