Abstract:For a quantum group, we study those right coideal subalgebras, for which all irreducible representations are one-dimensional. If a right coideal subalgebra is maximal with this property, then we call it a Borel subalgebra. Besides the positive part of the quantum group and its reflections, we find new unfamiliar Borel subalgebras, for example, ones containing copies of the quantum Weyl algebra. Given a Borel subalgebra, we study its induced (Verma-)modules and prove among others that they have all irreducible finite-dimensional modules as quotients. We give two structural conjectures involving the associated graded right coideal subalgebra, which we prove in certain cases. In particular, they predict the shape of all triangular Borel subalgebras. As examples, we determine all Borel subalgebras of $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ and $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_3)$ and discuss the induced modules.
Quantum Algebra
What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problems that this paper attempts to solve mainly focus on the study of Borel sub - algebras of quantum groups. Specifically, the authors are concerned with right co - ideal sub - algebras in which all irreducible representations are one - dimensional, and when such a right co - ideal sub - algebra is maximal with respect to this property, it is called a Borel sub - algebra. The main objectives of the paper can be summarized as follows: 1. **Construction and Classification**: Construct and classify right co - ideal sub - algebras in the quantum group \(U_q(\mathfrak{g})\) that have representation - theoretic properties similar to those of solvable Lie sub - algebras and Borel Lie sub - algebras. These sub - algebras are defined as basic right co - ideal sub - algebras if all of their finite - dimensional irreducible representations are one - dimensional; and a Borel sub - algebra refers to a basic right co - ideal sub - algebra that is maximal with respect to this property. 2. **New Borel Sub - algebras**: Discover and study some new Borel sub - algebras that do not exist in classical Lie algebras, such as those containing copies of the quantum Weyl algebra. 3. **Study of Induced Modules**: For a given Borel sub - algebra, study its induced (Verma) modules and prove that all of the irreducible finite - dimensional modules of these modules are their quotient modules. 4. **Structure Conjectures**: Propose two structure conjectures about graded algebras related to right co - ideal sub - algebras and prove these conjectures in some cases. In particular, these conjectures predict the shapes of all triangular Borel sub - algebras. 5. **Specific Examples**: Determine all of the Borel sub - algebras of \(U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)\) and \(U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_3)\) and discuss the induced modules of these sub - algebras. Through the study of these problems, the authors hope to gain a deeper understanding of the structure of quantum groups and their representation theory, especially to make progress in the classification problem of right co - ideal sub - algebras (also known as quantum homogeneous spaces). This will not only help in understanding the structure of quantum groups themselves, but may also provide new perspectives and tools for research in other related fields.
