Abstract:We outline a proof of a remarkable conjecture of Labastida-Mari{\~n}o-Ooguri-Vafa about certain new algebraic structures of quantum link invariants and the integrality of infinite family of new topological invariants. Our method is based on the cut-and-join analysis and a special rational ring characterizing the structure of the Chern-Simons partition function.

Abstract:We set up a generalization of ubiquitous one parameter families in algebraic geometry and its use for stability theories ([Mum65, HL14, AHLH23]) to families over toric varieties, Novikov type rings, or its complex analytic analogues. The language allows us to reformulate degenerations of "irrational" direction in various literatures as canonical objects in a unified manner. Compatibly, we generalize the stable reduction type theorem for $\Theta$-stratification in [AHLH23] of Langton type to our higher rank setup.

Bertini type results and their applications

Abstract:We prove Bertini type theorems and give some applications of them. The applications are in the context of Lefschetz theorem for Nori fundamental group for normal varieties as well as for geometric formal orbifolds. In another application, it is shown that certain class of a smooth quasi-projective variety contains a smooth curve such that irreducible lisse \ell-adic sheaves on the variety with "ramification bounded by a branch data" remains irreducible when restricted to the curve.

Abstract:The goal of this paper is to explain when basechange theorems for sheaves of spaces imply basechange for sheaves with coefficients in other presentable $\infty$-categories. We accomplish this by analyzing when the tensor product of presentable $\infty$-categories preserves left adjointable squares. As a sample result, we show that the Proper Basechange Theorem in topology holds with coefficients in any presentable $\infty$-category which is compactly generated or stable. We also prove results about the interaction between tensor products of presentable $\infty$-categories and various categorical constructions that are of independent interest.

A complete answer to Albanese base change for incomplete varieties

Abstract:Albanese varieties provide a standard tool in algebraic geometry for converting questions about varieties in general, to questions about Abelian varieties. A result of Serre provides the existence of an Albanese variety for any geometrically connected and geometrically reduced scheme of finite type over a field, and a result of Grothendieck--Conrad establishes that Albanese varieties are stable under base change of field provided the scheme is, in addition, proper. A result of Raynaud shows that base change can fail for Albanese varieties without this properness hypothesis. In this paper we show that Albanese varieties of geometrically connected and geometrically reduced schemes of finite type over a field are stable under separable field extensions. We also show that the failure of base change in general is explained by the L/K-image for purely inseparable extensions L/K.

Abstract:Lafforgue and Genestier-Lafforgue have constructed the global and (semisimplified) local Langlands correspondences for arbitrary reductive groups over function fields. We establish various properties of these correspondences regarding functoriality for cyclic base change: For -extensions of global function fields, we prove the existence of base change for mod p automorphic forms on arbitrary reductive groups. For -extensions of local function fields, we construct a base change homomorphism for the mod p Bernstein center of any reductive group. We then use this to prove existence of local base change for mod p irreducible representation along -extensions, and that Tate cohomology realizes base change descent, verifying a function field version of a conjecture of Treumann-Venkatesh. The proofs are based on equivariant localization arguments for the moduli spaces of shtukas. They also draw upon new tools from modular representation theory, including parity sheaves and Smith-Treumann theory. In particular, we use these to establish a categorification of the base change homomorphism for mod p spherical Hecke algebras, in a joint appendix with Gus Lonergan.

Abstract:This paper has two main goals. First, we prove nonabelian refinements of basechange theorems in étale cohomology (i.e., prove analogues of the classical statements for sheaves of spaces). Second, we apply these theorems to prove a number of results about the étale homotopy type. Specifically, we prove nonabelian refinements of the smooth basechange theorem, Huber-Gabber affine analogue of the proper basechange theorem, and Fujiwara-Gabber rigidity theorem. Our methods also recover Chough's nonabelian refinement of the proper basechange theorem. Transporting an argument of Bhatt-Mathew to the nonabelian setting, we apply nonabelian proper basechange to show that the profinite étale homotopy type satisfies arc-descent. Using nonabelian smooth and proper basechange and descent, we give rather soft proofs of a number of Künneth formulas for the étale homotopy type.

As applications we give algorithms to determine the minimal field of definition of such a variety and to determine whether two such varieties are twists.

Abstract:We give a generalization of the classical tilting theorem of Brenner and Butler. We show that for a 2-term silting complex P in the bounded homotopy category Kb(projA) of finitely generated projective modules of a finite dimensional algebra A, the algebra B=EndKb(projA)(P) admits a 2-term silting complex Q with the following properties: (i) The endomorphism algebra of Q in Kb(projB) is a factor algebra of A, and (ii) there are induced torsion pairs in modA and modB, such that we obtain natural equivalences induced by Hom- and Ext-functors. Moreover, we show how the Auslander–Reiten theory of modB can be described in terms of the Auslander–Reiten theory of modA.

Abstract:Let $E/\mathbb{Q}$ be an elliptic curve of conductor $N$, $p$ an odd prime of good ordinary reduction such that $E[p]$ is an irreducible $G_{\mathbb{Q}}$-module, and $K$ an imaginary quadratic field with all primes dividing $Np$ split. We prove Iwasawa Main Conjectures for the $\mathbb{Z}_p$-cyclotomic and $\mathbb{Z}_p$-anticyclotomic deformation of $E$ over $\mathbb{Q}$ and $K$ respectively, dispensing with any of the ramification hypotheses on $E[p]$ in previous works. Using base change, the proofs are based on Wan's divisibility towards a three-variable main conjecture for $E$ over a quartic CM field containing $K$.

On the coupled stability thresholds of graded linear series

Abstract:In this paper, we see several basic properties of graded linear series. We firstly see that, if a graded linear series contains an ample series, then so are the pullbacks of the system under birational morphisms. Using this proposition, we define the refinements of graded linear series with respects to primitive flags. Moreover, we give several formulas to compute the $S$-invariant of those refinements. Secondly, we introduce the notion of coupled stability thresholds for graded linear series, which is a generalization of the notion introduced by Rubinstein--Tian--Zhang. We see that, over the interior of the support for finite numbers of graded linear series containing an ample series, the coupled stability threshold function can be uniquely extended continuously, which generalizes the work by Kewei Zhang. Thirdly, we get a product-type formula for coupled stability thresholds, which generalizes the work of Zhuang. Fourthly, we see Abban--Zhuang's type formulas for estimating local coupled stability thresholds.

Two theorems on the vanishing of Ext

Abstract:We prove two theorems on the vanishing of Ext over commutative Noetherian local rings. Our first theorem shows that there are no Burch ideals which are rigid over non-regular local domains. Our second theorem reformulates a conjecture of Huneke-Wiegand in terms of the vanishing of Ext, and highlights its relation with the celebrated Auslander-Reiten conjecture. We also discuss several consequences of our results, for example, about the rigidity of the Frobenius endomorphism in prime characteristic p and a generalization of a result of Araya.
