Abstract:We reformulate base point free theorems. Our formulation is flexible and has some important applications. One of the main purposes of this paper is to prove a generalization of the base point free theorem in Fukuda's paper: On numerically effective log canonical divisors.

Abstract:We show that if $\mathcal{F}$ is an algebraically integrable foliation on a $\mathbb{Q}$-factorial normal projective variety $X$, $ A, B \geq 0$ are $\mathbb{Q}$-divisors on $X$ with $A$ ample such that $(\mathcal{F}, B)$ is foliated dlt and $K_{\mathcal{F}}+ A+B$ is nef, then $K_{\mathcal{F}}+A+B$ is semiample. We also provide some applications of this and related results such as contraction theorem for F-dlt pairs and a special case of the b-semiampleness conjecture.

Abstract: It is conjectured that the moduli b-divisor of the Kawamata-Kodaira canonical bundle formula associated to a klt-trivial fibration $(X,B)\to Z$ is semi-ample. In this paper, we show the semi-ampleness of an arbitrarily small perturbation of the moduli b-divisor by a fixed appropriate divisor which roughly speaking comes from a section of $K_X+B$. We apply the above result to settle a conjecture of Fujino and Gongyo: if $f\colon X\to Z$ is a smooth surjective morphism of smooth projective varieties with $-K_X$ semi-ample, then $-K_Z$ is also semi-ample. We list several counter-examples to show that this fails without the smoothness assumption on $f$.

Abstract:We construct a global B-model for any quasi-homogeneous polynomial f that has properties similar to the properties of the physic's B-model on a Calabi-Yau manifold. The main ingredients in our construction are K. Saito's theory of primitive forms and Givental's higher genus reconstruction. More precisely, we consider the moduli space M-mar degrees of the so-called marginal deformations of f . For each point sigma is an element of M-mam degrees mar we introduce the notion of an opposite subspace in the twisted de Rham cohomology of the corresponding singularity f(sigma) and prove that opposite subspaces are in one-to-one correspondence with the splittings of the Hodge structure in the vanishing cohomology of f(sigma). Therefore, according to M. Saito, an opposite subspace gives rise to a semi-simple Frobenius structure on the space of miniversal deformations of f(sigma). Using Givental's higher genus reconstruction we define a total ancestor potential A(sigma) ((h) over bar, q) whose properties can be described quite elegantly in terms of the properties of the corresponding opposite subspace. For example, if the opposite subspace corresponds to the splitting of the Hodge structure given by complex conjugation, then the total ancestor potential is monodromy invariant and it satisfies the BCOV holomorphic anomaly equations. The coefficients of the total ancestor potential could be viewed as quasi-modular forms on M-Mar degrees in a certain generalized sense. As an application of our construction, we consider the case of a Fermat polynomial W that defines a Calabi-Yau hypersurface X-w in a weighted-projective space. We have constructed two opposite subspaces and proved that the corresponding total ancestor potentials can be identified with respectively the total ancestor potential of the orbifold quotient X-W/(G) over tilde (W) and the total ancestor potential of FJRW invariants corresponding to (W, G(W)). Here G(W) is the maximal group of diagonal symmetries of W and (G) over tilde (W) is a quotient of G(W) by the subgroup of those elements that act trivially on X-W. In particular, our result establishes the so-called Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence for the pair (W, G(W)).

Abstract:This paper has two main goals. First, we prove nonabelian refinements of basechange theorems in étale cohomology (i.e., prove analogues of the classical statements for sheaves of spaces). Second, we apply these theorems to prove a number of results about the étale homotopy type. Specifically, we prove nonabelian refinements of the smooth basechange theorem, Huber-Gabber affine analogue of the proper basechange theorem, and Fujiwara-Gabber rigidity theorem. Our methods also recover Chough's nonabelian refinement of the proper basechange theorem. Transporting an argument of Bhatt-Mathew to the nonabelian setting, we apply nonabelian proper basechange to show that the profinite étale homotopy type satisfies arc-descent. Using nonabelian smooth and proper basechange and descent, we give rather soft proofs of a number of Künneth formulas for the étale homotopy type.

Canonical bundle formula and degenerating families of volume forms

Abstract:General canonical bundle formula due to Kawamata and others has played fundamental roles in algebraic geometry. We show that the canonical bundle formula has analytic characterization in terms of fiberwise integration, which confirms a folklore conjecture. The proof uses $L^2$ metrics and the valuative equivalence of plurisubharmonic singularities. As an application, we identify the singularity of the Ohsawa measure from a general $L^2$ extension theorem of Demailly for log canonical pairs, in terms of the singularity in Kawamata's subadjunction. As another application, we give a partial answer to a question of Berndtsson on semipositivity theorems.

On the B-series composition theorem

Abstract:The B-series composition theorem has been an important topic in numerical analysis of ordinary differential equations for the past-half century. Traditional proofs of this theorem rely on labelled trees, whereas recent developments in B-series analysis favour the use of unlabelled trees. In this paper, we present a new proof of the B-series composition theorem that does not depend on labelled trees. A key challenge in this approach is accurately counting combinations related to ``pruning.'' This challenge is overcome by introducing the concept of ``assignment.''

Abstract:Abstract Using log canonical thresholds and basis divisors Fujita–Odaka introduced purely algebro-geometric invariants δm{\delta_{m}} whose limit in m is now known to characterize uniform K-stability on a Fano variety. As shown by Blum–Jonsson this carries over to a general polarization, and together with work of Berman, Boucksom, and Jonsson, it is now known that the limit of these δm{\delta_{m}}-invariants characterizes uniform Ding stability. A basic question since Fujita–Odaka’s work has been to find an analytic interpretation of these invariants. We show that each δm{\delta_{m}} is the coercivity threshold of a quantized Ding functional on the mth Bergman space and thus characterizes the existence of balanced metrics. This approach has a number of applications. The most basic one is that it provides an alternative way to compute these invariants, which is new even for ℙn{{\mathbb{P}}^{n}}. Second, it allows us to introduce algebraically defined invariants that characterize the existence of Kähler–Ricci solitons (and the more general g-solitons of Berman–Witt Nyström), as well as coupled versions thereof. Third, it leads to approximation results involving balanced metrics in the presence of automorphisms that extend some results of Donaldson.

To this end, we characterize the trivial module over the quantum groups of such type at . This result can be seen as a very restrictive version of the crystal base theory for locally finite types.

A Remark on Fujino's work on the canonical bundle formula via period maps

Abstract:Fujino gave a proof in [Fuj03] for the semi-ampleness of the moduli part in the canonical bundle formula in the case when the general fibers are K3 surfaces or Abelian varieties. We show a similar statement when the general fibers are primitive symplectic varieties with mild singularities. This answers a question of Fujino raised in the same article. Moreover, using the structure theory of varieties with trivial first Chern class, we reduce the question of semi-ampleness in the case of families of K-trivial varieties to a question when the general fibers satisfy a slightly weaker Calabi-Yau condition.

Effective Fujita-type theorems for surfaces in arbitrary characteristic

Abstract:Fujita's conjecture is known to be false in positive characteristic. However, if $X$ is a smooth projective variety over a field of positive characteristic and $L$ is an ample divisor on $X$, it is an open question whether linear systems of the form $\lvert K_X+aK_X+bL \rvert$ can be made basepoint-free or very ample with $a$ and $b$ only depending on the dimension of $X$. We conjecture that such $a$ and $b$ exist and prove a strong version of this conjecture for basepoint-freeness, very ampleness, and jet ampleness on smooth projective surfaces in arbitrary characteristic. We do not use the classification of surfaces. In positive characteristic, we prove these positivity properties hold for Schwede's canonical linear system $S^0(X,\omega_X \otimes \mathcal{O}_X(aK_X+bL))$. To prove these results, we prove new results on Seshadri constants, moving Seshadri constants, and Frobenius-Seshadri constants, which in the singular case are new even over the complex numbers.

A solution to Fujita's freeness conjecture via an extension theorem with analytic adjoint ideal sheaves

Abstract:The effective freeness in Fujita's conjecture states that, for an ample line bundle $L$ on a complex projective manifold $X$, the adjoint bundle $K_X\otimes L^{\otimes m}$ is globally generated when $m \geq \dim_{\mathbb C} X + 1$. Following the approach of Angehrn and Siu, a solution is provided in this paper via the use of adjoint ideal sheaves, which provide a finer control of the non-integrable loci given by multiplier ideal sheaves, so that one can work directly with the lc singularities and the associated (minimal) lc centres as in the algebraic approaches of Kawamata and Helmke. The substitute for the Nadel or Kawamata-Viehweg vanishing theorem used in previous approaches is an extension theorem based on the techniques developed for the injectivity theorems.

Abstract:In this expository note, we review the recent developments about Maulik and Okounkov’s stable bases for the Springer resolution \documentclass[12pt]{minimal}\usepackage{amsmath}\usepackage{wasysym}\usepackage{amsfonts}\usepackage{amssymb}\usepackage{amsbsy}\usepackage{mathrsfs}\usepackage{upgreek}\setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt}\begin{document}$$T^*(G/B)$$\end{document}. In the cohomology case, we compute the action of the graded affine Hecke algebra on the stable basis, which is used to obtain the localization formulae. We further identify the stable bases with the Chern–Schwartz–MacPherson classes of the Schubert cells. This relation is used to prove the positivity conjecture of Aluffi and Mihalcea. For the K theory stable basis, we first compute the action of the affine Hecke algebra on it, which is used to deduce the localization formulae via root polynomial method. Similar as the cohomology case, they are also identified with the motivic Chern classes of the Schubert cells. This identification is used to prove the Bump–Nakasuji–Naruse conjecture about the unramified principal series of the Langlands dual group over non-Archimedean local fields. In the end, we study the wall R-matrices, which relate stable bases for different alcoves. As an application, we give a categorification of the stable bases via the localization of Lie algebras over positive characteristic fields.
Some variants of the generalized Borel Theorem and applications

Abstract:In the first part of this paper, we establish some results around generalized Borel's Theorem. As an application, in the second part, we construct example of smooth surface of degree $d\geq 19$ in $\mathbb{CP}^3$ whose complements is hyperbolically embedded in $\mathbb{CP}^3$. This improves the previous construction of Shirosaki where the degree bound $d=31$ was gave. In the last part, for a Fermat-Waring type hypersurface $D$ in $\mathbb{CP}^n$ defined by the homogeneous polynomial \[ \sum_{i=1}^m h_i^d, \] where $m,n,d$ are positive integers with $m\geq 3n-1$ and $d\geq m^2-m+1$, where $h_i$ are homogeneous generic linear forms on $\mathbb{C}^{n+1}$, for a nonconstant holomorphic function $f\colon\mathbb{C}\rightarrow\mathbb{CP}^n$ whose image is not contained in the support of $D$, we establish a Second Main Theorem type estimate: \[ \big(d-m(m-1)\big)\,T_f(r)\leq N_f^{[m-1]}(r,D)+S_f(r). \] This quantifies the hyperbolicity result due to Shiffman-Zaidenberg and Siu-Yeung.
