Abstract:In this paper, we first establish an $L^2$-type Dolbeault isomorphism for logarithmic differential forms by Hormanderu0027s $L^2$-estimates. By using this isomorphism and the construction of smooth Hermitian metrics, we obtain a number of new vanishing theorems for sheaves of logarithmic differential forms on compact Kahler manifolds with simple normal crossing divisors, which generalize several classical vanishing theorems, including Norimatsuu0027s vanishing theorem, Gibrauu0027s vanishing theorem, Le Potieru0027s vanishing theorem and a version of the Kawamata-Viehweg vanishing theorem.

Abstract:We investigate the structure of geometrically ruled surfaces whose anti-canonical class is big. As an application we show that the Picard group of a normal projective surface whose anti-canonical class is nef and big is a free abelian group of finite rank.

Abstract:We show that if $\mathcal{F}$ is an algebraically integrable foliation on a $\mathbb{Q}$-factorial normal projective variety $X$, $ A, B \geq 0$ are $\mathbb{Q}$-divisors on $X$ with $A$ ample such that $(\mathcal{F}, B)$ is foliated dlt and $K_{\mathcal{F}}+ A+B$ is nef, then $K_{\mathcal{F}}+A+B$ is semiample. We also provide some applications of this and related results such as contraction theorem for F-dlt pairs and a special case of the b-semiampleness conjecture.

Abstract:We prove the finiteness of log pluricanonical representations for projective log canonical pairs with semi-ample log canonical divisor. As a corollary, we obtain that the log canonical divisor of a projective semi log canonical pair is semi-ample if and only if so is the log canonical divisor of its normalization. We also treat many other applications.

Abstract:Let $(X, \Delta)/U$ be klt pairs and $Q$ be a convex set of divisors. Assuming that the relative Kodaira dimensions are non-negative, then there are only finitely many log canonical models when the boundary divisors varying in a relatively compact rational polytope in $Q$. As a consequence, we show the existence of the log canonical model for a klt pair $(X, \Delta)/U$ with real coefficients.

Abstract:A famous theorem of Shokurov states that a general anticanonical divisor of a smooth Fano threefold is a smooth K3 surface. This is quite surprising since there are several examples where the base locus of the anticanonical system has codimension two. In this paper we show that for four-dimensional Fano manifolds the behaviour is completely opposite: if the base locus is a normal surface, hence has codimension two, all the anticanonical divisors are singular.

Abstract:The non-isomorphic locus of a general projection from an embedded smooth projective variety to a hypersurface moves in a linear system of an effective divisor which we call the double point divisor. David Mumford proved that the double point divisor from outer projection is always base point free, and Bo Ilic proved that it is ample except for a Roth variety. The first aim of this paper is to show that the double point divisor from outer projection is very ample except in the Roth case. This answers a question of Bo Ilic. Unlike the case of outer projection, the double point divisor from inner projection may not be base point free nor ample. However, Atsushi Noma proved that it is semiample except when a variety is neither a Roth variety, a scroll over a curve, nor the second Veronese surface. In this paper, we investigate when the double point divisor from inner projection is base point free or big.

Abstract:Let (X, B) be a projective log canonical pair such that B is a Q-divisor, and that there is a surjective morphism f : X -> Z onto a normal variety Z satisfying K-X + B similar to (Q) f*M for some big Q-divisor M, and the augmented base locus B+(M) does not contain the image of any log canonical centre of (X, B). We will show that (X, B) has a good log minimal model. An interesting special case is when f is the identity morphism.

Abstract:We show that the augmented base locus coincides with the exceptional locus (i.e. null locus) for any nef $\mathbb{R}$-Cartier divisor on any scheme projective over a field (of any characteristic). Next we prove a semi-ampleness criterion in terms of the augmented base locus generalizing a result of Keel. We also study nef divisors with positive top intersection number, and discuss some problems related to augmented base loci of log divisors.

Abstract:Based on the logarithmic algebraic geometry and the theory of Deligne systems, we define an abelian category of $\ell$-adic sheaves with weight filtrations on a logarithmic scheme over a finite field, which is similar to the category of variations of mixed Hodge structure. We consider asymptotic behaviors and simple cases of higher direct images of objects of this category. This category is closely related to the monodromy-weight conjecture.
