Abstract:In this paper, we first establish an L-2-type Dolbeault isomorphism for logarithmic differential forms by Hrmander's L-2 estimates. By using this isomorphism and the construction of smooth Hermitian metrics, we obtain a number of new vanishing theorems for sheaves of logarithmic differential forms on compact Kahler manifolds with simple normal crossing divisors, which generalize several classical vanishing theorems, including Norimatsu's vanishing theorem, Girbau's vanishing theorem, Le Potier's vanishing theorem, and a version of the Kawamata-Viehweg vanishing theorem.

Abstract: Let $d(n; r_1, q_1, r_2, q_2)$ be the number of factorization $n=n_1n_2$ satisfying $n_i\equiv r_i\pmod{q_i}$ ($i=1,2$) and $\Delta(x; r_1, q_1, r_2, q_2)$ be the error term of the summatory function of $d(n; r_1, q_1, r_2, q_2)$ with $x\geq (q_1q_2)^{1+\varepsilon}, 1\leq r_i\leq q_i$, and $(r_i, q_i)=1$ ($i=1, 2$). We study the power moments and sign changes of $\Delta(x; r_1, q_1, r_2, q_2)$, and prove that for a sufficiently large constant $C$, $\Delta(q_1q_2x; r_1, q_1, r_2, q_2)$ changes sign in the interval $[T,T+C\sqrt{T}]$ for any large $T$. Meanwhile, we show that for a small constant $c'$, there exist infinitely many subintervals of length $c'\sqrt{T}\log^{-7}T$ in $[T,2T]$ where $\pm \Delta(q_1q_2x; r_1, q_1, r_2, q_2)> c_5x^\frac{1}{4}$ always holds.

Abstract:Dumortier and Roussarie proposed a conjecture in their paper (2009, Discrete Con. Dyn. Sys., 2,723-781): For any \begin{document}$ q\in {\mathbb{N}} $\end{document} , the Abelian integrals \begin{document}$ J_{2j+1}(h) = \int_{\gamma_h}x^{2j-1}\,\mathrm dy $\end{document} , \begin{document}$ j = 0, 1, 2, \cdots, q $\end{document} , form a strict Chebyshev system on intervals \begin{document}$ h\in (0, \frac{1}{2}] $\end{document} , where \begin{document}$ \gamma_h = \{(x, y)| \mathrm e^{-2y}(y+\frac{1}{2}-x^2) = h\} $\end{document} . If this conjecture holds, then they obtain the precise upper bound of the number of limit cycles that appear near a slow-fast Hopf point of any codimension. In the present paper we develop a method to estimate the number of zeros of Abelian integrals and prove this conjecture.
$L^2$-vanishing theorem and a conjecture of Kollár

Abstract:In 1995, Kollár conjectured that a complex projective $n$-fold $X$ with generically large fundamental group has Euler characteristic $\chi(X, K_X)\geq 0$. In this paper, we confirm the conjecture assuming $X$ has linear fundamental group, i.e., there exists an almost faithful representation $\pi_1(X)\to {\rm GL}_N(\mathbb{C})$. We deduce the conjecture by proving a stronger $L^2$ vanishing theorem: for the universal cover $\widetilde{X}$ of such $X$, its $L^2$-Dolbeaut cohomology $H_{(2)}^{n,q}(\widetilde{X})=0$ for $q\neq 0$. The main ingredients of the proof are techniques from the linear Shafarevich conjecture along with some analytic methods.

Abstract:For smooth projective 3-folds of general type, we prove that the relative canonical stability $\mu_s(3)\leq 8$. This is induced from our improved result of Kollár: the m-canonical map of a smooth projective 3-fold of general type is birational whenever $m\geq 5k+6$, provided $P_k(X)\geq 2$. The Q-divisor method is intensively developed to prove our results.

Abstract:The author provedTheorems 1.1–1.3 in [3] for not necessarily torus-invariant divisors on toric varieties in positive characteristic. Recently, an anonymous referee provided the following example to show that Theorem 1.1 does not necessarily hold for non torus-invariant divisors, which means that the arguments of [3] are erroneous. Example 1 Let X = P2, D ⊆ X a smooth projective curve of degree d ≥ 4, and L = OX (1). Then the cohomology exact sequence associated to the short exact sequence 0 → X ⊗ L → X (log D)⊗ L → OD ⊗ L → 0 together with the standard Bott vanishing for P2 show that H1(X, X (log D)⊗ L) ∼= H1(X, L|D). Then the cohomology exact sequence associated to the short exact sequence 0 → OX (−d + 1) → OX (1) → OD(1) → 0 shows that H1(X, L|D) ∼= H(X,OX (−d + 1)), which is nonzero as d ≥ 4. Therefore H1(X, X (log D) ⊗ L) = 0, which implies that Theorem 1.1 in [3] does not necessarily hold for non torus-invariant divisors on toric varieties in arbitrary characteristic.
Revisiting Dwork cohomology: Visibility and divisibility of Frobenius eigenvalues in rigid cohomology

Abstract:We study Frobenius eigenvalues of the compactly supported rigid cohomology of a variety defined over a finite field of $q$ elements via Dwork's method. A couple of arithmetic consequences will be drawn from this study. As the first application, we show that the zeta functions for finitely many related affine varieties are capable of witnessing all Frobenius eigenvalues of the rigid cohomology of the variety up to Tate twist. This result does not seem to be known for $\ell$-adic cohomology. As the second application, we prove several $q$-divisibility lower bounds for Frobenius eigenvalues of the rigid cohomology of the variety in terms of the multi-degrees of the defining equations. These divisibility bounds for rigid cohomology are generally better than what is suggested from the best known divisibility bounds in $\ell$-adic cohomology, both before and after the middle cohomological dimension.

Abstract:We prove the injectivity and vanishing theorem for R-Hodge modules and R-divisors over projective varieties, extending the results for rational Hodge modules and integral divisors in \cite{Wu15}. In particular, the injectivity generalizes the fundamental injectivity of Esnault-Viehweg for normal crossing Q-divisors, while the vanishing generalizes Kawamata-Viehweg vanishing for Q-divisors. As a main application, we also deduce a Fujita-type freeness result for R-Hodge modules in the normal crossing case.

Abstract:We present solutions to additive and multiplicative Cousin problems formulated on an axially symmetric domain $\Omega \subset \mathbb H$ for slice--regular functions starting from the solutions for subclasses, namely slice--regular slice--preserving functions and functions in a given vectorial class. Consequently, we prove the vanishing of the corresponding cohomology groups with respect to axially symmetric open coverings (Theorems 1.1, 4.1, 4.2). The primary tool used in the proofs of these theorems is the existence of quaternionic Cartan coverings and Cartan's splitting lemmas. As an application, we prove a jet interpolation theorem (Theorem 1.2) and show that every divisor is principal (Theorem 5.1).
