Abstract:The thin-walled, thick-necked gas cylinder liner concurrently addresses the structural integrity of the bottle neck and the lightweight construction of the bottle body, thereby significantly augmenting the mechanical characteristics and portability of the gas cylinder liner. This study scrutinizes the neck spinning process of the gas cylinder liner using finite element simulation, delving into the distribution patterns of triaxial stress at the bottle neck following various forming passes. Additionally, it examines the axial distribution of average triaxial stress in different thickness layers, elucidating the impact of diverse process parameters on the average triaxial stress in critical regions. The optimization of process parameters is conducted to acquire the most favorable set of parameters based on the average triaxial stress in hazardous areas and the average roundness error of the bottle neck. A thin-walled, thick-neck gas cylinder liner has been successfully produced through spinning experiments and its results have been compared with the simulation outcomes, affirming the model's accuracy.
