Abstract:<p>We demonstrate a doctor‐blading process for the fabrication of triple‐cation halide‐perovskite thin film using eco‐friendly solvent under ambient. An eco‐friendly perovskite precursor composed of γ‐butyrolactone (GBL)/dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO)/isopropanol (IPA) mixture is employed. The coordination between PbI2 and DMSO effectively suppresses the perovskite crystal grow rate which resulted in a dense and uniform film. However, the intermediate DMSO‐PbI2 phase residual has negative impact on the perovskite film quality. The amount of residues, the trap‐state defect density, the perovskite film uniformity and the device performance can be considerably affected by adding IPA in the precursor due to its capability to facilitate DMSO evaporation. After blading the perovskite film, heating post‐treatment on the top side of the film homogenizes the evaporation rate of the air‐liquid surface which leads to larger grain size and unbroken of perovskite film. The device employing perovskite solution with GBL/DMSO/IPA mixture as solvent achieves a decent power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 12.3% with a <i>V</i><i>oc</i> of 1.01 V and a <i>J</i><i>sc</i> of 19.3 mA/cm2. The bare device retains 76.5% of its original PCE after 25 days under ambient environment at 35˚C, with 35‐40% relative humidity. A large‐size device with an active area of 2.4 cm2delivered a PCE of 8.52%.</p><p>This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.</p>

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The main problem that this paper attempts to solve is to develop a method for preparing multi - cation mixed - halide perovskite films by the doctor - blade coating method using environmentally - friendly solvents under ambient conditions, in order to improve the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Specifically, the research focuses on the following aspects: 1. **Selection of environmentally - friendly solvents**: Traditionally, the preparation of perovskite solar cells usually uses toxic solvents such as dimethylformamide (DMF), which is not only harmful to the environment but also needs to be carried out in a strictly controlled environment. This paper proposes to use a mixed solvent of γ - butyrolactone (GBL) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), and add isopropanol (IPA) to reduce DMSO residues, thereby achieving environmentally - friendly and efficient perovskite film preparation. 2. **Optimization of film quality**: By adjusting the solvent ratio and post - treatment conditions (such as heating time), the quality of perovskite films is optimized, including grain size, uniformity, and defect density. The study found that appropriate post - heat treatment can significantly improve the film quality and reduce cracks and PbI₂ residues. 3. **Improvement of device performance**: Through the above - mentioned optimization measures, the photoelectric conversion efficiency (PCE), open - circuit voltage (Voc), short - circuit current density (Jsc), and fill factor (FF) of perovskite solar cells are improved. The experimental results show that the perovskite solar cells prepared using the GBL/DMSO/IPA solvent system achieved a PCE of 12.3% and had good stability under ambient conditions. 4. **Feasibility of large - scale preparation**: The study also explored the possibility of preparing perovskite films on larger - area substrates. The results show that even with a relatively large active area (2.4 cm²), the PCE can still reach 8.52%, indicating the potential of this method in industrial production. In summary, through systematically studying the influence of the solvent system and process parameters on the quality of perovskite films and device performance, this paper aims to develop an environmentally - friendly, efficient, and stable method for preparing perovskite solar cells.
