Abstract:Fibrewise T-duality (Fourier-Mukai transform) for D-branes on an elliptic Calabi-Yau three-fold $X$ is seen to have an expected adiabatic form for its induced cohomology operation only when an appropriately twisted operation resp. twisted charge is defined. Some differences with the case of $K3$ as well as connections with the spectral cover construction for bundles on $X$ are pointed out. In the context of mirror symmetry Kontsevich's association of line bundle twists (resp. a certain 'diagonal' operation) with monodromies (esp. the conifold monodromy) is made explicit and checked for two example models. Interpreting this association as a relation between FM transforms and monodromies, we express the fibrewise FM transform through known monodromies. The operation of fibrewise duality as well as the notion of a certain index relevant to the computation of the moduli space of the bundle is transported to the sLag side. Finally the moduli space for D4-branes and its behaviour under the FM transform is considered with an application to the spectral cover.

On the deformation theory of Fourier-Mukai transforms between Calabi-Yau varieties

Abstract:We study the deformation theory of fully faithful Fourier-Mukai transforms in both characteristic zero and mixed characteristic. Our main result shows that obstructions to deforming such transforms can be completely controlled by Hodge theory when the source variety has trivial canonical bundle, generalizing work of Addington-Thomas and Lieblich-Olsson. The main technical contribution is a formula for the obstruction class measuring the failure of a Chern character to remain within the Hodge filtration as a cup product with a (derived) Kodaira-Spencer class.

Abstract:The real Fourier-Mukai transform sends a section of a torus fibration to a connection over the total space of the dual torus fibration. By this method, Leung, Yau and Zaslow introduced deformed Hermitian Yang-Mills (dHYM) connections for Kähler manifolds and Lee and Leung introduced deformed Donaldson-Thomas (dDT) connections for $G_2$- and ${\rm Spin}(7)$-manifolds. In this paper, we suggest an alternative definition of a dDT connection for a manifold with a ${\rm Spin}(7)$-structure which seems to be more appropriate by carefully computing the real Fourier-Mukai transform again. We also post some evidences showing that the definition we suggest is compatible with dDT connections for a $G_2$-manifold and dHYM connections of a Calabi-Yau 4-manifold. Another importance of this paper is that it motivates our study in our other papers. That is, based on the computations in this paper, we develop the theories of deformations of dDT connections for a manifold with a ${\rm Spin}(7)$-structure and the "mirror" of the volume functional, which is called the Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) action in physics.

Abstract:One of the goals of the present paper is to propose an elementary method to find a general formula for the Fourier transform containing a pair of complex gamma functions with a monomial sm in terms of Gauss's hypergeometric functions 2F1. We further collect some mathematical results that follow by means of this transform. Physical applications requiring the expectation values of position and momentum operators for a quantum system endowed with position-dependent effective mass are presented.

Abstract:Abstract We develop a general theory of higher semiadditive Fourier transforms that includes both the classical discrete Fourier transform for finite abelian groups at height $n=0$ , as well as a certain duality for the $E_n$ -(co)homology of $\pi $ -finite spectra, established by Hopkins and Lurie, at heights $n\ge 1$ . We use this theory to generalize said duality in three different directions. First, we extend it from $\mathbb {Z}$ -module spectra to all (suitably finite) spectra and use it to compute the discrepancy spectrum of $E_n$ . Second, we lift it to the telescopic setting by replacing $E_n$ with $T(n)$ -local higher cyclotomic extensions, from which we deduce various results on affineness, Eilenberg–Moore formulas and Galois extensions in the telescopic setting. Third, we categorify their result into an equivalence of two symmetric monoidal $\infty $ -categories of local systems of $K(n)$ -local $E_n$ -modules [-12pc] and relate it to (semiadditive) redshift phenomena. Abstract:In this thesis, we study the properties of String theory amplitudes within the framework of Intersection Theory (IT) for twisted (co)homology, which, as recently proposed, offered a novel approach to analyze relations between scattering amplitudes, in string theory as well as in QFT. As only recently pointed out, thanks to IT, the analytic properties of scattering amplitudes can be related to the topological properties of the manifolds characterizing their integral representation. Tree-level string amplitudes, as well as Feynman integrals, obey both linear and quadratic relations governed by intersection numbers, which act as scalar products between vector spaces. We show how (co)homology with values in a local system allows to interpret closed strings tree amplitudes as intersection numbers between twisted cocycles, and open strings tree amplitudes as parings between a twisted cocycle and a twisted cycle. We present different algorithms to evaluate univariate and multivariate intersection numbers between both log and non-log twisted cocycles. We explore a diagrammatic method for the computation of intersection number between twisted cycles of the moduli space of the n-punctured Riemann sphere. We use IT to rederive Kawai-Lewellen-Tye (KLT) relations, naturally emerging as a twisted version of Riemann period relations. We compute intersection matrix between 2D twisted cycles to explicitly obtain the KLT decomposition of five closed tachyons tree amplitudes into partial five open tachyons tree amplitudes. We explicitly determine the intersection matrix between 2D Parke-Taylor (PT) forms. We use a recursive algorithm for generic n cocycle intersection numbers to project tachyon amplitudes integrand into a PT basis, and we apply it to the scattering of four and five tachyons. The methods discussed in the thesis can be broadly applied to problems involving Aomoto-Gelfand integrals.

Abstract:We are interested in the singular behaviour at the origin of solutions to the equation $\mathscr{H} \rho = e$ on a half-axis, where $\mathscr H$ is the one-sided Hilbert transform, $\rho$ an unknown solution and $e$ a known function. This is a simpler model problem on the path to understanding wave field singularities caused by curve-shaped scatterers in a planar domain. We prove that $\rho$ has a singularity of the form $\mathscr M[e](1/2) / \sqrt{t}$ where $\mathscr M$ is the Mellin transform. To do this we use specially built function spaces $\mathscr M'(a,b)$ by Zemanian, and these allow us to precisely investigate the relationship between the Mellin and Hilbert transforms. Fourier comes into play in the sense that the Mellin transform is simpy the Fourier transform on the locally compact Abelian multiplicative group of the half-line, and as a more familiar operator it guides our investigation.

Abstract:The worldsheet of the string theory, which consisting of 26 free scalar fields in Minkowski space, is two dimensional conformal field theory. If we denote the two dimension conformal field theory by elliptic curve and denote the partition function of string theory by modular form, then the relation between conformal field theory and the string theory can be represented as the Taniyama-Shimura conjecture. Moreover, it also can be generalized to the $F$-theory.

Abstract:Motivated by quantum field theory (QFT) considerations, we present new representations of the Euler-Beta function and tree-level string theory amplitudes using a new two-channel, local, crossing symmetric dispersion relation. Unlike standard series representations, the new ones are analytic everywhere except at the poles, sum over poles in all channels, and include contact interactions, in the spirit of QFT. This enables us to consider mass-level truncation, which preserves all the features of the original amplitudes. By starting with such expansions for generalized Euler-Beta functions and demanding QFT-like features, we single out the open superstring amplitude. We demonstrate the difficulty in deforming away from the string amplitude and show that a class of such deformations can be potentially interesting when there is level truncation. Abstract:This comprehensive review paper delves into the intricacies of advanced Fourier type integral transforms and their mathematical properties, with a particular focus on fractional Fourier transform (FrFT), linear canonical transform (LCT), quadratic phase Fourier transform (QPFT), and their associated offshoots: windowed Fourier transform, wavelet transform, and Stockwell transform. In the pursuit of a deeper understanding of these transformations, we explore their convolution properties, shedding light on their capacity to define windowed, wavelet and Stockwell transforms in the realm of Fourier, fractional Fourier and quadratic phase Fourier transforms. This review also expands its purview to the realm of uncertainty principles. Several uncertainty principles, like Heisenberg, logarithmic, local, Rényi uncertainty principles, etc., within the context of fractional Fourier, linear canonical, and quadratic phase Fourier transforms, as well as their derivative offshoots are presented in the paper both for the functions of complex as well as quatenrion valued. In particular, the counterpart of several important inequalities of classical Fourier transform are also presented in details for the quaternion case. This article also reviews that multiresolution analysis that has been developed in the literature so far.

Abstract:Building on recent advances in studying the cohomological properties of Feynman integrals, we apply intersection theory to the computation of Fourier integrals. We discuss applications pertinent to gravitational bremsstrahlung and deep inelastic scattering in the saturation regime. After identifying the bases of master integrals, the latter are evaluated by means of the differential equation method. Abstract:In a suitable regime of superstring theory, D-branes in a Calabi-Yau space and their most fundamental behaviors can be nicely described mathematically through morphisms from Azumaya spaces with a fundamental module to that Calabi-Yau space. In the earlier work [LLSY](D (2): arXiv: 0809.2121 [math. AG], with Si Li and Ruifang Song) from the project, we explored this notion for the case of D1-branes (ie D-strings) and laid down some basic ingredients toward understanding the notion of D-string world-sheet instantons in this context. In this continuation, D (10), of D (2), we move on to construct a moduli stack of semistable morphisms from Azumaya nodal curves with a fundamental module to a projective Calabi-Yau 3-fold . In this Part I of the note, D (10.1), we define the notion of twisted central charge for Fourier-Mukai transforms of dimension 1 and width [0] from nodal curves and the associated stability condition on such transforms and prove that for a given compact stack of nodal curves , the stack of -semistable Fourier-Mukai transforms of dimension 1 and width [0] from nodal curves in the family to of fixed twisted central charge is compact. For the application in the sequel D (10.2), will contain as a substack and in this case will play a key role in defining stability condition for morphisms from arbitrary Azumaya nodal curves (with the underlying nodal curves not necessary in the family ) to .

Abstract:On a Weierstraß elliptic surface X , we define a "limit" of Bridgeland stability conditions, denoted as -stability, by moving the polarisation towards the fiber direction in the ample cone while keeping the volume of the polarisation fixed. We describe conditions under which a slope stable torsion-free sheaf is taken by a Fourier-Mukai transform to a -stable object, and describe a modification upon which a -semistable object is taken by the inverse Fourier-Mukai transform to a slope semistable torsion-free sheaf. We also study wall-crossing for Bridgeland stability, and show that 1-dimensional twisted Gieseker semistable sheaves are taken by a Fourier-Mukai transform to Bridgeland semistable objects.
