Abstract:We show that a Fourier--Mukai equivalence between smooth projective varieties of characteristic $p$ which commutes with either pushforward or pullback along Frobenius is a composition of shifts, isomorphisms, and tensor product with invertible sheaves whose $(p-1)$th tensor power is trivial.

Abstract:We study Fourier-Mukai equivalences of (families of) abelian varieties and K3 surfaces in positive and mixed characteristics. We first prove in any characteristics that Fourier-Mukai partners of abelian varieties are again abelian varieties. We subsequently focus on the canonical lifts of ordinary abelian varieties and ordinary K3 surfaces. For such schemes, we show that Fourier-Mukai equivalences on the special fibers can be lifted to the canonical lifts. We also prove that the relative Fourier-Mukai partners of the canonical lifts are in bijection with the Fourier-Mukai partners of the special fibers. We conclude by demonstrating that the last result can be used to recover the ordinary case of a result originally proved by Honigs, Lombardi and Tirabassi.

On the deformation theory of Fourier-Mukai transforms between Calabi-Yau varieties

Abstract:We study the deformation theory of fully faithful Fourier-Mukai transforms in both characteristic zero and mixed characteristic. Our main result shows that obstructions to deforming such transforms can be completely controlled by Hodge theory when the source variety has trivial canonical bundle, generalizing work of Addington-Thomas and Lieblich-Olsson. The main technical contribution is a formula for the obstruction class measuring the failure of a Chern character to remain within the Hodge filtration as a cup product with a (derived) Kodaira-Spencer class.

Abstract:Anel and Toën proved that a smooth projective complex variety has only countably many smooth projective Fourier-Mukai partners up to isomorphism. This is generalized in the Stacks Project to the case where the varieties are smooth proper over an arbitrary algebraically closed field. This note will upgrade the proof of the latter reference to show that a smooth proper scheme over a noetherian base has only countably many relative Fourier-Mukai partners up to isomorphism.

Abstract:In this article we study the relation between Arinkin's Poincaré sheaf on the compactified Jacobian over an integral nodal curve and the classical Poincaré bundle on the Jacobian of the normalization. This is applied to derive a formula for the Fourier-Mukai transform of complexes on the compactified Jacobian that come from pushforward along the normalization map. This is achieved via a third intermediate geometry: the parabolic modules introduced by Bhosle and Cook, which enode encode fiber jumps at the nodes.

Abstract:The real Fourier-Mukai transform sends a section of a torus fibration to a connection over the total space of the dual torus fibration. By this method, Leung, Yau and Zaslow introduced deformed Hermitian Yang-Mills (dHYM) connections for Kähler manifolds and Lee and Leung introduced deformed Donaldson-Thomas (dDT) connections for $G_2$- and ${\rm Spin}(7)$-manifolds. In this paper, we suggest an alternative definition of a dDT connection for a manifold with a ${\rm Spin}(7)$-structure which seems to be more appropriate by carefully computing the real Fourier-Mukai transform again. We also post some evidences showing that the definition we suggest is compatible with dDT connections for a $G_2$-manifold and dHYM connections of a Calabi-Yau 4-manifold. Another importance of this paper is that it motivates our study in our other papers. That is, based on the computations in this paper, we develop the theories of deformations of dDT connections for a manifold with a ${\rm Spin}(7)$-structure and the "mirror" of the volume functional, which is called the Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) action in physics.

Fourier transforms and a filtration on the Lagrangian cobordism group of tori

Abstract:Given a polarized tropical affine torus, we show that the fibered Lagrangian cobordism group of the corresponding symplectic manifold admits a natural geometric filtration of finite length. This contrasts with results of Sheridan-Smith in dimension four and the present author in higher dimensions, who showed that such group is infinite-dimensional. In the second half of this paper, we construct a Fourier transform between Fukaya categories of dual symplectic tori. We show that, under homological mirror symmetry, it corresponds to the Fourier transform between derived categories of coherent sheaves of dual abelian varieties due to Mukai. We use this to show how our filtration is mirror to the Bloch filtration on Chow groups of abelian varieties, but the results may be of broader interest.

Injectives obstruct Fourier-Mukai functors

Abstract:We use the inclusion of injectives into the canonical heart as a replacement for tilting objects in computations of the characteristic morphism. Then we apply this construction to proofs of non-liftability of candidate non-Fourier-Mukai functors, i.e.\ functors that do not admit an $\mathcal{A}_\infty$/$\mathrm{dg}$-lift. This approach allows explicit computation of the obstruction against an $\mathcal{A}_\infty$-lift. We in particular observe that this computation gives for smooth degree $d>2$ hypersurfaces an abundance of non-Fourier-Mukai functors.

Abstract:Abstract We explicitly identify the algebra generated by symplectic Fourier–Deligne transforms (i.e., convolution with Kazhdan–Laumon sheaves) acting on the Grothendieck group of perverse sheaves on the basic affine space $G/U$, answering a question originally raised by A. Polishchuk. We show it is isomorphic to a distinguished subalgebra, studied by I. Marin, of the generalized algebra of braids and ties (defined in Type $A$ by F. Aicardi and J. Juyumaya and generalized to all types by Marin), providing a connection between geometric representation theory and an algebra defined in the context of knot theory. Our geometric interpretation of this algebra entails some algebraic consequences: we obtain a short and type-independent geometric proof of the braid relations for Juyumaya’s generators of the Yokonuma–Hecke algebra (previously proved case-by-case in types $A, D, E$ by Juyumaya and separately for types $B, C, F_{4}, G_{2}$ by Juyumaya and S. S. Kannan), a natural candidate for an analogue of a Kazhdan–Lusztig basis, and finally an explicit formula for the dimension of Marin’s algebra in Type $A_{n}$ (previously only known for $n \leq 4$).

Abstract:Let $G$ be a (split) reductive group over $\mathbb{F}_q$, and let $M$ be a standard Levi subgroup of $G$. Consider $P$ and $P'$ parabolics in $G$, containing $M$, with Levi factor $M$. we let $U = R_u(P)$ (resp., $U' = R_u(P')$) denote the unipotent radical; and we denote by $\overline{G/U}$ (resp., $\overline{G/U'}$) the affinization of the corresponding homogeneous space. Extending the work of Braverman-Kazhdan ( arXiv:9809.112 , arXiv:0206.119 ) to general parabolic basic affine (or ``paraspherical") space, we propose a construction for certain intertwining operators $F_{P',P}: S(\overline{G/U}(\mathbb{F}_q), \mathbb{C}) \to S(\overline{G/U'}(\mathbb{F}_q), \mathbb{C})$ for a suitable function spaces $S$, defined via kernels analogous to those appearing (loc. cit.). We then study the extent to which these intertwiners are normalized. We show that, for opposite $(n-1)+1$ parabolics of $\textrm{SL}_n$, our transform reduces to the classical linear Fourier transform; and that, for opposite unipotents in $\textrm{SL}_3$ or opposite Siegel parabolics in $\textrm{Sp}_4$, our transforms are given by a Fourier transform on a quadric cone (with kernel coming from a Kloosterman sum). We prove Fourier inversion for this transform on (a natural subclass of) functions on the quadric cone, establishing a finite-field analogue of the quadric Fourier transform of Gurevich-Kazhdan <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2304.13993" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2304.13993">arXiv:2304.13993</a> and Getz-Hsu-Leslie <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2103.10261" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2103.10261">arXiv:2103.10261</a>.

Abstract:On a Weierstraß elliptic surface X , we define a "limit" of Bridgeland stability conditions, denoted as -stability, by moving the polarisation towards the fiber direction in the ample cone while keeping the volume of the polarisation fixed. We describe conditions under which a slope stable torsion-free sheaf is taken by a Fourier-Mukai transform to a -stable object, and describe a modification upon which a -semistable object is taken by the inverse Fourier-Mukai transform to a slope semistable torsion-free sheaf. We also study wall-crossing for Bridgeland stability, and show that 1-dimensional twisted Gieseker semistable sheaves are taken by a Fourier-Mukai transform to Bridgeland semistable objects.

Abstract:As evidence for his conjecture in birational log geometry, Kawamata constructed a family of derived equivalences between toric orbifolds. In a previous paper, the authors showed that the derived category of a toric orbifold is naturally identified with a category of polyhedrally-constructible sheaves on ℝ n . In this paper we investigate and reprove some of Kawamata’s results from this perspective.

Abstract:Balmer defined the tensor triangulated spectrum $\operatorname{Spec}_\otimes \mathcal{T}$ of a tensor triangulated category $(\mathcal{T},\otimes)$ and showed that for a variety $X$, we have the reconstruction $X \cong \operatorname{Spec}_{\otimes_{\mathscr{O}_X}^{\mathbb{L}}}\operatorname{Perf} X$. In the absence of the tensor structure, Matsui recently introduced the triangular spectrum $\operatorname{Spec}_\vartriangle \mathcal{T}$ of a triangulated category $\mathcal{T}$ and showed that there exists an immersion $X \cong \operatorname{Spec}_{\otimes_{\mathscr{O}_X}^{\mathbb{L}}}\operatorname{Perf} X \subset \operatorname{Spec}_\vartriangle \operatorname{Perf} X$. In this paper, we construct a scheme $\operatorname{Spec}^{\mathsf{FM}} \mathcal{T} \subset \operatorname{Spec}_\vartriangle \mathcal{T}$, called the Fourier-Mukai (FM) locus, by gathering all varieties $X$ satisfying $\operatorname{Perf} X \simeq \mathcal{T}$. Those varieties are called FM partners of $\mathcal{T}$ and immersed into $\operatorname{Spec}_\vartriangle \mathcal{T}$ as tensor triangulated spectra. We present a variety of examples illustrating how geometric and birational properties of FM partners are reflected in the way their tensor triangulated spectra are glued in the FM locus. Finally, we compare the FM locus with other loci within the triangular spectrum admitting categorical characterizations, and in particular, make a precise conjecture about the relation of the FM locus with the Serre invariant locus.

Abstract:In the present article, we study the integral aspects of the Fourier transform of an abelian variety $A$ over a field $k$, using étale motivic cohomology, following the ideas and theory given by Moonen, Polishchuk and later by Beckman and de Gaay Fortman. We prove that there exists a PD-structure over the positive degree part of the étale Chow ring $\text{CH}^{\text{ét}}_{>0}(A)$ with respect to the Pontryagin product.

Abstract:We prove the crepant transformation conjecture for relative Grassmann flops over a smooth base $B$. We show that the $I$-functions of the respective GIT quotients are related by analytic continuation and a symplectic transformation. We verify that the symplectic transformation is compatible with Iritani's integral structure, that is, that it is induced by a Fourier-Mukai transform in $K$-theory.
