Abstract:In the medium- and high-power grid-connected photovoltaic systems, the controller bandwidth is constrained due to the low switching frequency. This issue limits the resonant frequency of the traditional proportional multiresonant (PMR) controller and then makes it difficult to suppress the main low-frequency harmonics in the grid-connected current. In addition, it is difficult for PMR to maintain good performance under severe operating conditions, such as the grid voltage containing the resonant-frequency harmonic and the grid voltage sagging. Based on the abovementioned practical problems and on-site requirements, a novel first-order active-disturbance-rejection active-damping control strategy based on the inverter-side-current feedback (ICF-ADRC-AD) for the LCL grid-connected inverter is proposed in this article. The standard form of the system block diagram is deduced, and the stability and immunity of the system are analyzed. Finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control strategy under different operating conditions are verified by simulation and experiment. The control strategy proposed in this article improves the suppression effect of low-frequency total harmonic and resonance and also improves the stability and immunity of the system.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
This paper attempts to solve the control problem of LCL grid - connected inverters in medium - and high - power photovoltaic systems, especially for the problem of limited controller bandwidth at low switching frequencies. This problem restricts the resonant frequency of the traditional Proportional Multi - Resonant (PMR) controller, making it difficult to suppress the main low - frequency harmonics in the grid - connected current. In addition, under harsh operating conditions such as grid voltage containing resonant - frequency harmonics and grid voltage sags, it is difficult for PMR to maintain good performance. In order to address the above - mentioned practical problems and on - site requirements, the paper proposes a first - order Active Disturbance Rejection Active Damping (ICF - ADRC - AD) control strategy based on inverter - side current feedback. By simplifying the control structure and enhancing the engineering application value, this strategy effectively solves the problem of limited resonant frequency of the PMR controller at low switching frequencies, further improves the resonance suppression effect, as well as the stability and anti - interference ability of the system. Specifically, the main contributions and significance of the paper are as follows: 1. The proposed ICF - ADRC - AD control strategy effectively solves the problem of limited resonant frequency of the PMR controller at low switching frequencies, thus making it difficult to reduce the low - frequency harmonic distortion rate. 2. The combination of first - order ADRC and active damping can further improve the resonance suppression effect, further improve the quality of the grid - connected current, and the stability and anti - interference ability of the system. 3. The paper analyzes in detail the equivalent transformation of the block diagram, stability, and anti - interference of the LCL grid - connected system based on the proposed control strategy, providing a theoretical basis for subsequent research on ICF - ADRC - AD. 4. From the perspectives of simulation and experiment, several typical grid - connected system control strategies are compared and analyzed in detail, fully verifying the superiority of the proposed control strategy and laying a foundation for its practical application. Through detailed theoretical analysis and experimental verification, the paper demonstrates the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control strategy under different operating conditions, providing a new solution to solve the control problem of LCL grid - connected inverters.
