Abstract:In this paper, we resolve the planar dual Minkowski problem, proposed by Huang et al. (2016) [31] for all positive indices without any symmetry assumption. More precisely, given any q>0, and function f on S1, bounded by two positive constants, we show that there exists a convex body Ω in the plane, containing the origin in its interior, whose dual curvature measure C˜q(Ω,⋅) has density f. In particular, if f is smooth, then ∂Ω is also smooth.

Abstract:We outline a proof of a remarkable conjecture of Labastida-Mari{\~n}o-Ooguri-Vafa about certain new algebraic structures of quantum link invariants and the integrality of infinite family of new topological invariants. Our method is based on the cut-and-join analysis and a special rational ring characterizing the structure of the Chern-Simons partition function.

Abstract:In this paper we prove a conjecture of Kudla and Rallis. Let $\chi$ be a unitary character, $s\in \mathbb{C}$ and $W$ a symplectic vector space over a non-archimedean field with symmetry group $G(W)$. Denote by $I(\chi,s)$ the degenerate principal series representation of $G(W\oplus W)$. Pulling back $I(\chi,s)$ along the natural embedding $G(W)\times G(W)\hookrightarrow G(W\oplus W)$ gives a representation $I_{W,W}(\chi,s)$ of $G(W)\times G(W)$. Let $\pi$ be an irreducible smooth complex representation of $G(W)$. We then prove \[\dim _\mathbb{C}\mathrm{Hom}_{G(W)\times G(W)}(I_{W,W}(\chi,s),\pi\otimes \pi^\lor)=1.\] We also give analogous statements for $W$ orthogonal or unitary. This gives in particular a new proof of the conservation relation of the local Theta correspondence for symplectic-orthogonal and unitary dual pairs.

Abstract:These are related, because the ideas involved in (1) form one of the main foundations for (2). More precisely, the proof of the Yau conjecture relies on an extension of the partial C estimate to metrics with conic singularities. Gang Tian has made claims to credit for these results. The purpose of this document is to rebut these claims on the grounds of originality, priority and correctness of the mathematical arguments. We acknowledge Tian’s many contributions to this field in the past and, partly for this reason, we have avoided raising our objections publicly over the last 15 months, but it seems now that this is the course we have to take in order to document the facts. In addition, this seems to us the responsible action to take and one we owe to our colleagues, especially those affected by these developments.

Abstract:For one-dimensional systems of conservation laws admitting two additional conservation laws, we assign a ruled hypersurface of codimension two in projective space. We call two such systems dual if the corresponding ruled hypersurfaces are dual. We show that a Hamiltonian system is auto-dual, its ruled hypersurface sits in some quadric, and the generators of this ruled hypersurface form a Legendre submanifold with respect to the contact structure on Fano variety of this quadric. We also give a complete geometric description of 3-component nondiagonalizable systems of Temple class: such systems admit two additional conservation laws, they are dual to systems with constant characteristic speeds, constructed via maximal rank 3-webs of curves in space.

Abstract:In this paper we present a proof of the Verjovsky conjecture: Every codimension-one Anosov flow on a manifold of dimension greater than three is topologically equivalent to the suspension of a hyperbolic toral automorphism. In fact, the conjecture is derived from possible more general result that says that for every codimension-one volume-preserving Anosov flow on a manifold of dimension greater than three, a suitable time change guarantees that the stable and unstable sub-bundles are then jointly integrable.

Abstract:For CMC surfaces in $3$-dimensional space forms, we relate the moment class of Korevaar--Kusner--Solomon to a second cohomology class arising from the integrable systems theory of isothermic surfaces. In addition, we show that both classes have a variational origin as Noether currents.

Abstract:We compute the generating series for the intersection pairings between the total Chern classes of the tangent bundles of the Hilbert schemes of points on a smooth projective surface and the Chern characters of tautological bundles over these Hilbert schemes. Modulo the lower weight term, we verify Okounkov's conjecture [Oko] connecting these Hilbert schemes and multiple $q$-zeta values. In addition, this conjecture is completely proved when the surface is abelian. We also determine some universal constants in the sense of Boissi\' ere and Nieper-Wisskirchen [Boi, BN] regarding the total Chern classes of the tangent bundles of these Hilbert schemes. The main approach of this paper is to use the set-up of Carlsson and Okounkov outlined in [Car, CO] and the structure of the Chern character operators proved in [LQW2].

Abstract:We give a new proof of Kollár’s conjecture on the derived pushforward of the dualizing sheaf twisted by a variation of Hodge structure. This conjecture has been settled by M. Saito via the theory of mixed Hodge modules and has various applications in the investigation of Albanese maps. Our technique is L^2 theoretic which gives concrete constructions and proofs to the conjecture. The L^2 point of view allows us to generalize Kollár’s conjecture to the context of non-abelian Hodge theory.

Abstract:In this short note, we provide an alternative proof of a notable theorem by Narasimhan and Ramanan. The theorem states that the moduli space of $S$-equivalence classes of semistable rank $2$ vector bundles over a curve $X$ of genus $2$ with trivial determinant is isomorphic to $\mathbb{P}^3$. Our proof relies on a criterion by Bauer and Szemberg, which characterizes projective spaces among smooth Fano varieties using Seshadri constants.
