Abstract:For every genuine irreducible admissible smooth representation $\pi$ of the metaplectic group $\widetilde{{\rm Sp}}(2n)$ over a $p$-adic field, and every smooth oscillator representation $\omega_\psi$ of $\widetilde{{\rm Sp}}(2n)$, we prove that the tensor product $\pi\otimes\omega_\psi$ is multiplicity free as a smooth representation of the symplectic group ${\rm Sp}(2n)$. Similar results are proved for general linear groups and unitary groups.

Abstract:We use cotangent bundles of spaces of smooth embeddings to construct symplectic dual pairs involving the group of volume preserving diffeomorphisms. Via symplectic reduction we obtain descriptions of coadjoint orbits of this group in terms of nonlinear Grassmannians of augmented submanifolds. For codimension one embeddings these submanifolds are further constrained to the leaves of isodrastic foliations with finite codimensions.

Abstract:We show that the Galois representations provided by l-adic cohomology of proper smooth varieties, and more generally by l-adic intersection cohomology of proper varieties, over any field, are orthogonal or symplectic according to the degree. We deduce this from a preservation result of orthogonal and symplectic pure perverse sheaves by proper direct image. We show, moreover, that the subgroup of the Grothendieck group generated by orthogonal pure perverse sheaves of even weights and symplectic pure perverse sheaves of odd weights are preserved by Grothendieck's six operations. Over a finite field, we deduce parity and symmetry results for Jordan blocks appearing in the Frobenius action on intersection cohomology of proper varieties, and virtual parity results for the Frobenius action on ordinary cohomology of arbitrary varieties.

Abstract:In Gurau and Keppler 2022 (<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2207.01993" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2207.01993">arXiv:2207.01993</a>), a relation between orthogonal and symplectic tensor models with quartic interactions was proven. In this paper, we provide an alternative proof that extends to polynomial interactions of arbitrary order. We consider tensor models of order D with no symmetry under permutation of the indices that transform in the tensor product of D fundamental representations of O(N) and Sp(N). We explicitly show that the models obey the N to -N duality graph by graph in perturbation theory.

Abstract:Let G be one of the classical Lie groups GL(n+1)(R), GL(n+1)(C), U(p, q + 1), O(p, q + 1), On+1(C), SO(p, q + 1), SOn+1(C), and let G' be respectively the subgroup GL(n)(R), GL(n)(C), U(p, q), O(p, q), O-n(C), SO(p, q), SO (C), embedded in G in the standard way. We show that every irreducible Casselman-Wallach representation of G' occurs with multiplicity at most one in every irreducible Casselman-Wallach representation of G. Abstract:Let $mathbf G$ be a complex orthogonal or complex symplectic group, and let $G$ be a real form of $mathbf G$, namely $G$ is a real orthogonal group, a real symplectic group, a quaternionic orthogonal group, or a quaternionic symplectic group. For a fixed parity $mathbb pin mathbb Z/2mathbb Z$, we define a set $mathrm{Nil}^{mathbb p}_{mathbf G}(mathfrak g)$ of nilpotent $mathbf G$-orbits $mathfrak g$ (the Lie algebra of $mathbf G$). When $mathbb p$ is the parity of the dimension of the standard module of $mathbf G$, this is the set of the stably trivial special nilpotent orbits, which includes all rigid special nilpotent orbits. For each $mathcal O in mathrm{Nil}^{mathbb p}_{mathbf G}(mathfrak g)$, we construct all unipotent representations of $G$ (or its metaplectic cover when $G$ is a real symplectic group and $mathbb p$ is odd) attached to $mathcal O$ via the method of theta lifting and show particular that they are unitary.

Abstract:Let G be one of the classical groups GL(n), U(n), O(n) or Sp(2n), over a nonarchimedean local field of characteristic zero. It is well known that the contragredient of an irreducible admissible smooth representation of G is isomorphic to a twist of it by an automorphism of G. We prove that similar results hold for double covers of G that occur in the study of local theta correspondences.

Abstract:We prove a nonsemisimple quantum version of Howe's duality with the rank 2n symplectic and the rank 2 special linear group acting on the exterior algebra of type C. We also discuss the first steps towards the symplectic analog of harmonic analysis on quantum spheres, give character formulas for various fundamental modules, and construct canonical bases of the exterior algebra.

Abstract:Inspired by Etingof--Varchenko's dynamical fusion, dynamical $R$-matrix, and dynamical Weyl group for Lie algebras, we introduce, for split symmetric pairs, versions of dynamical fusion, dynamical $K$-matrix, and dynamical Weyl group. We then turn to the study of $(\mathfrak{so}_{2n},O_m)$-duality and prove that the standard Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov and dynamical operators (both differential and difference) on the $\mathfrak{so}_{2n}$-side are exchanged with the symmetric pair analogs, for $O_m\subset GL_m$, on the $O_m$-side.

Abstract:For one-dimensional systems of conservation laws admitting two additional conservation laws, we assign a ruled hypersurface of codimension two in projective space. We call two such systems dual if the corresponding ruled hypersurfaces are dual. We show that a Hamiltonian system is auto-dual, its ruled hypersurface sits in some quadric, and the generators of this ruled hypersurface form a Legendre submanifold with respect to the contact structure on Fano variety of this quadric. We also give a complete geometric description of 3-component nondiagonalizable systems of Temple class: such systems admit two additional conservation laws, they are dual to systems with constant characteristic speeds, constructed via maximal rank 3-webs of curves in space.

Abstract:We study the local theta correspondence for dual pairs of the form $\mathrm{Aut}(C)\times F_{4}$ over a $p$-adic field, where $C$ is a composition algebra of dimension 2 or 4, by restricting the minimal representation of a group of type $E$. We investigate this restriction through the computation of maximal parabolic Jacquet modules and the Fourier-Jacobi functor. As a consequence of our results we prove a multiplicity one result for the $\mathrm{Spin}(9)$-invariant linear functionals of irreducible representations of $F_{4}$ and classify the $\mathrm{Spin}(9)$-distinguished representations.
