Abstract:A gold-catalyzed cascade annulation of propargylic silyl ethers with anthranils proceeds through a sequential ring opening/1,2-H-shift/protodeauration/Mukaiyama aldol cyclization. This method offers a regiospecific and modular access to 2-aminoquinolines and other quinoline derivatives under mild conditions and with a broad functional-group tolerance. The conversion is possible on a gram scale, which underlines the synthetic practicability of this methodology. The versatility of the obtained scaffold has been demonstrated by useful postfunctionalization.

Abstract:A novel strategy based on Cu-catalyzed (4+1) cascade annulation of terminal alkynes as one-carbon synthons with 2-(tosylmethyl)anilines has been developed for the expeditious synthesis of 2,3-disubstituted indoles, in which <i>in situ</i> generations of aza-<i>o</i>-quinone methides and alkynyl-copper(I) species are involved. This annulation provides an effective method for the assembly of synthetically and structurally interesting 2,3-disubstituted indoles.

Abstract:An efficient protocol was developed for the synthesis of fused heterocyclic multiring compounds pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinolin-1(2H)-ones via a AuBr3/AgSbF6-catalvzed cascade transformation. Significantly, the strategy affords a straightforward and efficient approach to construction of tricyclic lactam molecular architectures in which two new C-C bonds and one new C-N bond are formed in a one-pot synthetic operation from simple starting materials. Moreover, a broad spectrum of substrates can participate in the process effectively to produce the desired products in good yields and with excellent regio- and chemoselectivities.

Abstract:An efficient approach is developed to prepare different 2-amino-1,4-naphthalenedione and 6-amino-5,8-quinolinedione derivatives regioselectively by Au(III)-catalyzed 1,4-nucleophilic addition and subsequent oxidation. A wide variety of primary, secondary, and aromatic amines, as well as allylamine and 2-butynylamine are well tolerated under the mild conditions to give products in moderate to good yields.
