Abstract:Objective: To discuss orientated damage effects of high intensity focused ultrasound on sonicated experimental animal tissue in vitro with same intensity. Methods: porcine liver in vitro was used for radiation. The tissues under 10 mm or 20 mm depth of surface of tissues were radiated extracorporeally by HIFU with times of 5 s, 10 s, 15 s,20 s, or 40 s. The temperature of focal point were measured. The volume of coagulation necroses were measured after radiation. Results: with the same intensity, under 10 mm depth of surface and radiating times of 5 s,10 s,15 s,20 s or 40 s, the volumes of coagulation necroses were 78.50±3.14 mm~3、198.54±42.27 mm~3、650.04±54.17 mm~3、941.96±94.25 mm~3、2861.71±460.12 mm~3, respectively. under 20 mm depth of surface and the same radiating times, the volumes of coagulation necroses were 65.42±13.08 mm~3、85.82±35.22 mm~3、133.23±20.90 mm~3、153.16±28.86 mm~3、714.80±60.81 mm~3. The temperature of focal point was 76.0±1.4℃. Conclusion: With the same intensity and radiating time, the volumes of coagulation necroses decreased with the increased depth of radiation. With the same intensity and radiating depth, the volumes of coagulation necroses increased with the augmentation in radiating time. The therapeutic apparatus we used was effective, safe and accurate for HIFU radiation.
