Abstract:To learn the dynamic characteristics of the HAGC of the rolling mill,the ideal dynamic characteristics of hot rolling mill F2 were studied,by inputting step-function signals,steel biting and throwing was simulated.In order to get the dynamic characteristics of steady working area,sine signals were input to simulate hydraulic screw down control system of rolling mill.Field test results indicate that the actual system dynamic characteristics are accordant with the theoretic analysis.

Abstract:Studied are the separate influences by three different types of roll gap adjustment systems of the 3-roll mandrel mill(i.e.,the side-swing type,the pendulum type and the radial type) on wall thickness accuracy of the pipe as rolled. Comparative analyses are made with the said 3 systems as designed in terms of dynamic behavior,durability and disassembly complexity, etc., which lead to such a conclusion that compared with the other two types,the swing-arm roll gap adjusting system is in possession of better performance indexes,being a mandrel mill roll gap adjusting system with advanced comprehensive performance.

Abstract:As is known to all,in precise stamping,traditional press can not make punches' movement match the ideal curve which is conformity with technical process requirement.Then it makes stamping parts impair the quality,and precision can not meet the requirement.In view of the traditional press defect,this paper shows a novel drive mechanism based on non-circular gears,which can make punch move according to the ideal curve through the rational design of non-circular gear.This paper puts forward a method of designing punch ideal moving curve according to the requirement of technical process,and a method of making sure the non-circular gears transmission relationship according to the characteristics of the movement.It also analyzes the related limit conditions,shows the method of determining non-circular gears pitch curve.Compared with the traditional machine,this design is simple,and has compact structure and high accuracy.The new design has good application prospects in the field of the precision stamping machine.

Abstract:In the new fiber carding machine,the roller is a key component which determines the success or failure of the equipment.By analyzing the roller′s supporting form,structure characteristic,motion law,the sinusoidal in the axial stress and torsional loads are simplified to constant axial compression and torsional loads,and the mechanical model of the roller is obtained.The deflection and internal stress formulas are derived and studied using non-moment theory of cylindrical shells,and the minimum thickness under constraint of deflection,stability and strength is obtained,and the conclusion of the reinforcement is not necessary is indicated.The practices indicate that the analysis is correct and efficient,and it has reference significance for similar component design.

Abstract:It has a strict demand for the transverse thickness difference of silicon steel. To reduce the transverse thickness difference of the cold rolled strip, it must reduce the crown and the wedge of the hot rolled strip. 7-Stands continuously variable crown (CVC) hot rolling mills are conventionally applied to roll silicon steel. However, the CVC rolling mills have many defects to roll silicon steel as a result of the strict demands for the crown and the wedge and the characteristics of the CVC rolling mill. The large concave roll (LCR) technology was puts forward to solve that problem. The LCR technology includes the design of the roll contour and the roll free shifting strategies. The results of simulations and experiments show that the LCR technology can not only ensure the crown target of silicon steel, but also enlarge the coil quantity in a rolling schedule and improve the hot rolled strip edge-drop in the late of rolling schedule. This technology provides guidance for the crown control of the hot rolled silicon steel.

Abstract:The involute spline made by cold-rolling have many advantages. This method can increase the production efficiency, save material, prolong the cutting tool's life, and improve the dimensional accuracy. Because the metal fiber continues between the spline's teeth, wearing resistance of the spline's teeth side is better and intensity of the teeth is higher. The cold rolling is the development trend of involute spline manufacturing. And the design of the roller is the key point in the cold rolling processing. This paper analyses the principle of cold rolling for involute spline and sets up the design model of roller. Because of the plastic deformation, the amendment method is introduced according to experiment data. On the basis of research of the main algorithm, the roller CAD system is developed for the involute spline and the roller simulation system is built. The roller CAD system and the simulation system have been put into practice and the roller design model and the amend method proved to be correct in the practice. The application meets the urgent need in the spline manufacturing.

Abstract:Using the parametric modelling feature in Solidworks software, a three-dimensional solid model of a planetary gearbox with linear reciprocating motion of the output shaft was constructed. By conducting theoretical calculations related to the kinematics of the transmission system and combining Adams virtual prototyping simulation technology, a dynamic simulation model of the planetary gear transmission mechanism was established to analyse the motion laws and dynamic characteristics. The simulation results were compared and analysed against the theoretical calculation results, and they showed good agreement and consistency. The study also investigated the impact of counterweights on the inertia forces and moments of the output shaft in the transmission mechanism. The results indicated that adding counterweights effectively reduced the inertia impact caused by inertia forces at the start and end positions of the stroke, as well as the inertia torque caused by changes in angular acceleration during the startup and stopping phases, thereby enhancing the smooth operation of the mechanism. Additionally, different thicknesses of counterweights had varying effects on balancing the inertia forces and moments of the output shaft. The study aimed to find the optimal thickness of counterweights to achieve the best balance effect. Furthermore, the study examined the influence of different speeds of the driving gear on the inertia forces of the output shaft. The results showed that at a driving gear speed of 1500 rpm, the horizontal thrust generated by the output shaft was 63566 N, which could provide the required thrust for the rolling mill operation, and the inertia forces of the output shaft tended to stabilize.

Abstract:3D roll-forming for high strength steel sheets is a new technology at present.Double racks gear3 D roll forming machine developed by our research group can be used to perform variable cross section roll forming for high strength steel.In the paper,a dynamic model of 8-DOF double rack gear3 D roll-forming machine is established by the method of Lagrange equation.The expression of the angle acceleration of the system response is obtained by solving the dynamic equations.Through an actual engineering example,the dynamical characters of the 3D roll forming machine are revealed.The results can support the design of 3D roll forming machine.Meanwhile,the research will play an active role in the development of control system.

Abstract:An automated control system for the coiler mandrel is developed. The causes of emergency situations are identified not only in the industrial conditions, but also from data obtained by reviewing the relevant literature and solving similar problems at other companies. A change in the tension of the strip due to the instability or malfunction of the coiler drive is revealed. This causes degradation in the quality of the rolled strip, its thickness variation, or even breakage. In addition, the installed system does not have a wide range of setpoints, thereby hindering the expansion of the range of rolled steel. One of the main causes of such problems is the outdated coiler mandrel motor and the lack of a proper control system. The developed automated control system is described mathematically. A torque compensation unit maintaining the required level of strip tension is designed. Matlab Simulink software is used to generate a model of an automated control system for the coiler mandrel and to analyze the strip tension and the associated electrical-drive parameters (speed, current, magnetic flux), which confirms the absence of jerks during coiling. The economic benefits of the implementation of this project are calculated. The payback period is about a year.

Abstract:In the process of producing strip steel, fiber, plastic material, reeling up is a necessary technical procedure. However, the traditional reeling up that applies constant tension usually causing problems of unstable rolling tension, and it makes the coil edge irregular, coil core protruding, and collapse coil. Aiming at solve these problems this article researches the new control method that use the taper tension adjust theory, using a strip steel factory as an experiment object, the author establishes the control algorithm and specific program. Finally the experiment result had test and verify the research finding: the taper tension control theory successfully apply in the rolling up procedure; and through this research we have deepen the academic field of taper tension theory.

Abstract:Advances in Mechanical Engineering, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2024. A rolling bearing plays a key role in the gearbox of the cold rolling mill transmission system. As a result, the degradation and failure of bearings can lead to unplanned shutdowns of the entire rolling mill system. Since on-site cold rolling mills work usually in non-steady lubrication rolling conditions originating form variations of multiple parameters, the uncertainty affecting bearing performance in a cold rolling mill transmission system increases, making it more difficult to assess health status and predict the remaining service life of bearings, Therefore, by establishing a coupling model describing the relationship for the rolling mill and normal /faulty gearboxes under non steady rolling conditions, quantitatively studies the influence of various rolling parameters of a rolling mill on the fatigue service life of bearings in the gearbox of the rolling mill transmission system, and verify the effectiveness of linear cumulative damage theory for bearing fatigue service life through experiments and on-site bearing vibration data. The results indicate that as the thickness of the strip steel inlet, lubricant viscosity, and rolling speed increase, or the thickness of the strip steel outlet and rolling roll radius decrease, the service life of bearings gradually decreases. As the fluctuation amplitude of various rolling parameters in the cold rolling mill increases, the service life of bearings in the gearbox of the rolling mill transmission system gradually shortens. Moreover, when the rolling parameter value or fluctuation amplitude increases to a specific values, the remaining service life of bearings will sharply decrease. Under the same rolling conditions, the service life of bearings in gearboxes with faults decreases more significantly than that in normal gearboxes.

Abstract:Since the rapid development of welding technology,automatic welding has been gradually replaced manual welding,the most important element of automatic welding is the design of the welding stand,different welding bracket applies to different parts.In the roller welding stand,the friction of the driving wheel in the worm-wheel reducer was applied to drive the driving plate,and the driving plate drove the driven plate and the stand to turn around,so as to realize the automatic welding.The automatic welding roller stand was suitable for welding different-radius shell by adjusting the central distance between rollers.Its speed could be adjusted stepless,and it used an automatic control system to control the synchronous rotation of two motors so as to realize the welding of workpiece.

Abstract:The corresponding objectives and principles of the intermediate roll contour design are proposed to improve the strip edge drop problem in the process of 18-High mill production and enhance the regulation ability on strip shape. The intermediate roll contour is designed using the particle swarm optimisation algorithm to satisfy the production requirements. The elastic–plastic coupling finite element model of roll system–rolling piece integration is established, the application effect of the new roll contour is verified, and the regulation ability on strip shape under the new roll contour is analysed. Results show that, compared with the original roll contour, the strip edge drop phenomenon is remarkably improved. The regulation ability on strip shape is evidently improved compared with that of the original roll contour. The regulation ability on strip shape of the intermediate roll shifting is stronger than that of the intermediate roll bending force under the new roll contour. Finally, combined with field data of rolling, the finite element model is verified on site. The simulation and measured values are high, and the error is within 10%. The research results can provide a good theoretical basis for the improvement of the intermediate roll contour and improvement of the regulation ability on strip shape of 18-High mill.

Abstract:The modeling of the asymmetric cold rolling process of steel strip is carried out using the Deform program. During the study, the diameter of the barrel of the upper work roll is varied from 570 to 600 mm, the diameter of the barrel of the lower work roll was left unchanged at 600 mm, and changes in the structural parameters of the deformation zone, as well as the required rolling torques and forces, are recorded. The results are obtained for the conditions of rolling strips made of low-carbon steels with a thickness of 2 mm or more, as well as 0.35...0.5 mm. It is found that the discrepancy in power between the drives of the upper and lower rolls during asymmetric rolling can reach 25 % of the power required to conduct the process on rolls with the same barrel diameter. It is also shown that the changing of the contact arc with the indicated changes in power and a decrease in the diameter of the working roll barrel from 600 to 570 mm ranges from 3 to 5 % of the length of the arc of contact in the absence of a difference in the diameters of the barrels of the rolls. Fluctuation in moments when taking into account the factor of asymmetric rolling reaches 20 % of the corresponding values typical for the technological process on rolls with the same barrel diameter. An increase in the asymmetry of the rolling process leads to a slope of the neutral section in the deformation zone with an increase in the proportion of the advance zone in the arc of contact of the upper work roll with a smaller diameter of the barrel and the strip. An assumption is made, which requires further research, about the possibility of creating only one advance section along the entire length of the interaction of the roll with a smaller diameter of the barrel and the strip. Such a structure of the contact zone is theoretically able to reduce the required power of the main drive.
