Abstract:The Chinese people started to add organic matter to lime or tabia' no later than 1500 years ago, and thus created the traditional Chinese organic-inorganic mortar featured in this paper, which has been demonstrated by a great deal of archaeological evidence. According to the ancient literature records, the traditional Chinese organic-inorganic mortar was widely used for architectural purposes, such as rammed earthen buildings, finishing mortars, city walls, water conservancy projects and tombs. To verify the authenticity of the literature, four types of architecture were chosen from eastern China, and the obtained samples were analysed by chemical methods and FT-IR. The experimental results turned out to be consistent with the literature.

Abstract:Dafen oil painting vilage is regarded as a successful case of Urban Vilage improvement. However, the needs of different groups of people in Dafen are paid little attention to when summing up the experience, while its 26-year-long continuous improvement process made it difficult to extract the experience of universal value from its complex historical accumulation. The thesis applied two main concepts of archetypal critical theory in the field of literary criticism to rethinking the improvement process of Dafen and tries to extract experience with universal value by investigating the relationship between the motion directions of the archetype and its deep structure.

Traced the 24 dialectal terms from historical documents through the ages and modern dialects,the thesis tryies to illustrate their sound and meaning change and usuable territory shift.

Abstract:There are some mistranslations and losses in the published version of the bamboo slips manuscript of the Zhouyi unearthed from the Han tomb at Fuyang,Anhui Province. This paper gives out some amendments,further translates some characters,and discriminates some remanent characters,which are referential to the studies of this version of the Zhouyi. In addition,the paper also points out some problems in the copy of the original manuscript.

Abstract:Xunzijiaoshi(荀子校释) provides precise and appropriate annotations to Xunzi(荀子).It compiled and revisited the previous research available both within and without the country,dissolved doubts and problems and offered insightful opinions of the text of Xunzi.Nevertheless,little omissions and small errors are inevitable.Five mistakes are analyzed in this article: qi(齐) in heqi(和齐)shall not be pronounced differently;Shuai(率) has been mispronounced twice;Juan(蠲) in juanyi(蠲疑) is a borrowed character of ■,She(埶) in shezaibenchao shall be pronunced as she(设),and aishe(隘慑) is identical to dianai(垫隘) in Zuo.

Abstract:Dongjing Meng Hua Lu is an important document to study the social life of the Northern Song dynasty. But up to now, there are still many debates about the specific textual researches of relevant nominal words in this book. So, this paper makes further correction, supplement and textual research on the controversial folklore terms. This paper believes that in the folkloric words, the prototype of the word "Mo Hele" is Mahakala; the word "Jing" should have been omitted from the Zaju "Mulian Saving His Mother", which is actually the Zaju using the Buddhist classic of Mulian to show how to save his mother; the word "YeHu" is derived from the sound of fright and intimidation or a ghostly face or mask.Besides, there are still many nominal words in this book which needs more discussion and need more information to demonstrate. Therefore, when interpreting the text of this book, the relevant research also needs to be more careful about the material, and cannot be blindly quoted.

Abstract:Through analyzing the catalogues of history records such as the new and old Book of Tang,the description of the relationship between Xu Ling and Chen Shubao,Zhang Lihua in the Book of Chen and some other historical and literary works,and the habits of people addressing each other in the Southern Dynasties,this paper makes a further investigation on some remaining problems in discussion of the editor of Yutai Xinyong began in 2004.Thus the authors stress their point that Yutai Xinyong was impossibly edited by Xu Ling.

Abstract:Research on the function and translation strategies of archaic terms in Legal English is crucial as it ensures the accuracy and consistency of professional terminology, preserves legal culture, enhances translation professionalism, and facilitates cross-cultural communication. Challenges in the current research on archaic terms translation include difficulties in achieving translation accuracy, high demands for professionalism, challenges in understanding cultural differences, and the need for repeated verification of legacy and applicability. This paper delves into the translation issues related to archaic terms in Legal English, analyzing them in comparison with everyday conversational English, at the lexical and grammatical level, and in terms of discourse coherence, aiming to better understand legal concepts and expressions across different cultural backgrounds.

Abstract:This article focused on one sect of historical sources in Yunlu Manchao, an academic work compiled by Zhao Yanwei of South Song dynasty. It was from a note of one map about Chang’an city written by Lü Dafang of North Song dynasty. Mainly I interpuncted this source again for there were many faults in several printed editions of Yunlu Manchao and revised the characters referring to the former studies. I also pointed out that it was viable to restore the note by Lü Dafang based on Yunlu Manchao.

Abstract:In Dazhao Li’s works,there are many foreign names which are unfamiliar to contemporary readers. How to put annotations tothese foreign names so as to help the readers understand Dazhao Li’s works correctly is a rather difficult task. Any imprudence ortake-for-granted attitude would lead to mistakes. The Annotations to such foreign names as Deyin Bao,Tiete Si,Guli Tiansen,QiJing,among others,in Commentaries and Corrections to the Annotations of the New Edition of The Complete Works of Dazhao Li area typical demonstration of such mistakes. To avoid such mistakes and annotate Dazhao Li accurately,annotators should abide by theacademic disciplines,examine the related historical facts and make comprehensive researches.

Abstract:In recent years, the study of archaic phonology based on ancient writing materials had made great progress. The achievements were about the research of the phonology of Yinshang (殷商) ,Xizhou(西周), Qinhan (秦汉)and Warring States period. It indicated that many scholars had been conscious of the value of the ancient writing materials to the study of archaic phonology. If we want to come near to reality of ancient sound, if we like to trace the source and course of a sound, we should make use of ancient writing materials. It’s a main trend in the study of archaic phonology from now on.

Abstract:In the study of Wang Yangming and Post -Yangming school of thought,there exists a quite gen-eral point of view:Xu Ai,Wang Yangming’s famous early disciple,came to Longchang,Guizhou with Wang Yangming - a clear and unambiguous “Qianzhong Trip”.Based on a variety of relevant evidences from re-search,it has found that “Qianzhong Trip”by Xu Ai is without historical basis.The mistake came from the time when Qian Dehong was compiling the book,Wang Yangming Chronicle.Mr.Qian erroneously combined the two stories together when Wang Yangming began to take on learning with Xi Shu in Guiyang in the fourth year of Masanori and when Xu Ai was talking on learning with Huang Wan and other scholars in Nanjing in the ninth year of Masanori,giving rise to the confusion and misunderstanding.Subjectively,the mistake came with some people’s sloppy reading without serious thinking and questioning,but solely based on what Qian Dehong was in-forming in the book.Hence,there came out the “Qianzhong Trip”by Xu Ai.The questioning and researching of Xu Ai’s trip to Qianzhong will help to clarify and correct the mistake existing for over 400 years in the history ofWang Yangming academic study,and can provide useful inspiration for Wang Yangming and Post -Yangming academic studies.

Abstract:Mr. Wang Li covered a wide range and made a unique study of Chinese rhetorical forms. In his writings,he discussed as many as 22 kinds of rhetorical forms,some of which had never been touched upon by other rhetoricians. In his discussion about rhetoric forms in both modern Chinese and ancient Chinese,he associated them closely with Chinese grammar. He was quite different from other rhetoricians in his way of doing research. Especially when he dealt with modern Chinese rhetoric,he completely abandoned the method of "first studying a foreign system,and then fitting it with examples selected from the Chinese language ", which was often found in the books on rhetoric from the 1930s. He systematically studied A Dream of Red Mansions,from which he selected examples. As a result,he was rarely affected by Western rhetoric,and he got many original ideas with his conclusions in conformity with the reality of Chinese rhetoric. Mr. Wang Li made a holistic and profound analysis of antithesis in the Chinese language. As he had not only made a delicate description of it structurally,but also made a high generalization and analysis of it theoretically,his statement about antithesis in the Chinese language is very helpful for us to have a correct understanding of the characteristics of the Chinese language. Mr. Wang Li’s study on the issue concerning ellipsis in the Chinese language revealed the features of the close association of Chinese grammar with rhetoric,which is far more comprehensive than other general rhetorical works.

Abstract:Some quality problems are found in arranging Records of Xixi Fan Yin.The first is that the mistakes are not found in the original books and copied.The second is punctuation errors caused because of misunderstanding the meaning in the ancient books.The last is mistyping of place names,people names and dialects and slang in the computer.Therefore,in order to do better in local documents arrangement,it needs rich traditional cultural knowledge,good language foundation and to be cautious in doing the work.

Abstract:This article examines the attitudes of Warring States textual witnesses to the increase in presence of and reliance on bamboo manuscripts in communicating knowledge. Based on a rereading of transmitted materials and four manuscript texts (*Wuwang Jianzuo A and B, *Baoxun, and the Zhou Wuwang you ji) from the Warring States period, I analyze how contemporaries dealt with questions about the status of (manuscript) texts, their use and transmission, their trustworthiness, and their ability to preserve knowledge. These are texts that talk about themselves. They remark upon the physicality of text and the act of writing, the problem of oral and written transmission, and the differences in the ability of memory and manuscripts to store, hide, and reveal knowledge. I argue that these different reflections reveal a change in the predominant medium of communicating knowledge towards an increased reliance on bamboo manuscripts gradually and partially replacing traditional knowledge practices.

Abstract:There are a great many interpretation errors in The Research of the White Stone Statue in Qu Yang, in essence because of misunderstanding of the characters with similar forms, not understanding the combined graphs, not knowing variant characters and cultural words and so on.It is suggested that combined with historical documents and rubbings of excerption, errors can be corrected, the cause can be pointed out and the spreading of errors can be avoided so that the precious documentary materials can be utilized more scientifically.
