Metaanalysis of mal-nutritional risk among hospitalized childrenscreening by STRONGkids scale

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the value of STRONGkids scale for malnutrition risk screeningamong hospital‐ized children .Method Cochrane Library ,Elsevier ,OVID ,PubMed ,CNKI ,CBMdisc database were searched to i‐dentity relevant English and Chinese language articles from Jan 1990 to Mar 2015 .STRONGkidswas used to screen malnutrition risk among hospitalized children .Two review authors appraised included articles’ quality using“Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Study (QUADS tool)” .Meta‐Disc (1 .4 .0 .0) was used to meta‐analyses .Result Three screening tests were included .Totally 1163 hospitalized children were screened by STRONGkids scale .The sensitivity ,specificity was 80% ,of 49% ,subject diagnostic feature (SROC) area under the curve (AUC) was 0 .5732 .Conclusion STRONGkids has high sensitivity and it is suitable for nutritional risk screening of hospitalized child .Screening tests with large sample still needs to assess its specificity in future .
