Abstract:(beta-Organochalcogenyl)allyl phenyl sulfoxides 2 were prepared by treatment of allenyl sulfoxides I with sodium organyl chalcogenolates in good yields. The reaction was regioselective, giving exclusively one isomer in all cases. The applications of (beta-phenyltelluro)allyl phenyl sulfoxide 2d and (beta-organosulfanyl)allyl phenyl sulfoxide 2m in organic synthesis were also described.

Abstract:An expeditious method to access 2-aminobenzoxazoles and 2-aminobenzothiazoles from various substituted 2-aminophenols and 2-aminothiophenols, respectively, with isoselenocyanates in a one pot procedure is reported. Elemental Se precipitates nearly quantitatively in the reaction without any deselenizing agent and it can be reused. A possible mechanism for the formation of the target products is proposed.

Abstract:The insertion of elemental selenium into the Zn-C bond of allylzinc bromide in THF leads to the corresponding zinc allyl selenoate. It reacts with diaryliodonium salts in THF-HMPA to afford the allyl arylselenides in high yields.

Abstract:The hydrochalcogenation of allenyl sulfones with sodium organyl chalcogenolates can proceed smoothly to give beta-phenylchalcogenyl allyl sulfones in high yields with exclusive regioselectivity. For the asymmetric allenyl sulfone, the reaction has both high regio- and stereoselectivity with the predominace of E-isomer. Some applications of beta-phenyltelluro and beta-phenylselanyl allyl sulfone in organic synthesis are also investigated.

Abstract:A new protocol has been developed for the formation of C−Se and C−S bonds by the direct selenosulfonylation of alkenes. This protocol is operationally simplistic, has a wide substrate scope, uses readily available seleno and sulfonyl sources, and is amenable to gram-scale synthesis. This reaction represents a significant addition to the limited number of reactions available for the intermolecular selenide difunctionalization of alkenes and would be useful for the synthesis of sulfur- and selenium-containing molecules

The reaction was regioselective, giving exclusively one isomer in all cases studied. Abstract:A palladium-catalyzed highly stereoselective sulfonylation of vinylethylene carbonates for the precise synthesis of structurally diverse (Z)-allylic sulfones was achieved with excellent regioselectivity and stereoselectivity (Z/E ratio, up to 99 : 1). This protocol used inexpensive sodium sulfinates as sulfonyl sources to construct valuable (Z)-allylic sulfones in good to excellent yields. The controlling experiment suggested that the hydroxyl proton came from the alpha-hydrogen of sulfone group through 1, 5-H shift.

Abstract:β-amino sulfones are important motifs found in natural products and active pharmaceutical compounds. Herein, we report a general and highly regioselective intermolecular aminosulfonylation of alkenes via the homolysis of sulfinyl oximes from ketoximes and sulfinyl chloride. This method features catalyst-free, step-efficient functionalization and prominent functional group tolerance, providing a straightforward, green, and widely applicable approach to accessing β-amino sulfone derivatives.
