Abstract:The paper proposes a self-adaptive segmentation compensation method, by fitting and judging the compensating interval, can self-adaptively shorten the compensation interval and select the new compensation interval, repeats these processes until each compensation interval and fitting function can be ascertained. The paper adopts the method of multinomial least squares as fitting to make the fitting function be simple and the amount of compensation interval be least, reduces the calculation cost.

Abstract:Considering the changes of the zero bias of a silicon-based MEMS accelerometer at different environmental temperatures,a new type of compensation circuit was designed. Theoretical analysis and experimental tests showed that there was a significant linearity between resonant frequency and temperature. The resonant frequency was propor-tional to the square root of elasticity modulus of elastic beam. Meanwhile,the temperature affected elasticity modulus in three main ways:the temperature effect of the elasticity modulus,thermal expansion and thermal stress. By means of Matlab numerical simulation,the relationship between resonant frequency and temperature was modeled and simu-lated,which well agreed with the experimental results. Based on the above study,a circuit with digital PLL module was designed for temperature compensation using FPGA. By identifying and locking the resonant frequency of the accelerometer,the resonant frequency worked as a symbol of temperature deviation so as to compensate zero bias drift. The result shows:after the compensation,the peak to peak temperature driftof the system decreases from 541.8,mg to 46.0,mg in the range from-30,℃ to 60,℃,meeting the requirements of some industrial applications.
Development of an Automatic Calibration Device for High-Accuracy Low Temperature Thermometers

Abstract:Based on the analysis and investigation of calibration systems for high-accuracy low temperature thermometers, a new facility for automatic calibration of high-accuracy low temperature thermometers was developed. Continuous calibration for multiple points can be made automatically with this device. According to the thermophysical characteristics of the constant-temperature block in this device, segmented Fuzzy-PID (proportional-integral-differential) algorithm was applied. The experimental results showed that the temperature fluctuation was smaller than ±0.005 K in 30 min. Therefore, this new device can fully meet the calibration requirement of high-precision low temperature thermometers.

Abstract:The paper introduces a new software compensation method based on multisensor to solve the temperature effect on optical fiber displacement sensors. In this method, the output of different displacement sensors are processed by using the data fusion theory and the temperature effect on optical fiber displacement sensor is basically overcome. The method dispenses with added temperature sensor, merely making use of two different outputs of optical fiber displacement sensor, thus providing a practicable approach for optical fiber sensor's practicality. The experimentation shows that coefficient of temperature sensitivity of the optical fiber displacement sensor is reduced remarkably. In addition, accuracy of measurement and stability of the system are both improved

Abstract:The paper introduces an application of compensation to temperature drift in pressure measuring based on the ZMD31050 chip.The principle of compensation,including the signal flow and the signal conditioning is described.The hardware construction based on the low-power MCU C8051F930 and software design are also provided in this paper.From the experiment,we can see the compensation application,which reduces the error in an obvious scale,is effective.

Abstract:A novel high‐temperature eddy current displacement sensor operating from 20 ℃ to 500 ℃ was introduced .The application of new materials and structure improvement of the sensor probe promised the adaptation of sensor probe to severe temperature variation . T he convention of detected displacement to electric signal was completed by frequency modulation circuit and peak detection circuit .The temperature drift ,consisting of output sensitivity and bias voltage ,was eliminated by a temperature‐compensation circuit added in the output stage of the sensor . Experimental results verified that the designed high‐temperature eddy current displacement sensor had good output sensitivity and linearity within temperature variation from 20 ℃ to 500 ℃ ,with effective temperature drift eliminating properties .

Abstract:Eddy current sensor is an sensor based on eddy current effect. In practical engineering applications, the ambient temperature of eddy current sensor may be up to 135 ℃. The temperature drift of eddy current sensor magnifies the error of displacement detection. In this paper, the main factors that cause temperature drift are analyzed in detail, and the results show that the compensation based on single parameter can not meet the demand of high-precision measurement. For this reason, this paper proposes an external compensation method which applies mathematical fitting to realize compensation for temperature drift. The experimental results show that the measurement accuracy of the external compensation method reaches 0.25% in the working temperature range, which greatly improves the measurement accuracy of eddy current sensor under high temperature.

Abstract:Testing modal parameters of the vibrating-tube is the pre_requisites of adjusting the ice-detector.A model analysis was wadlon the simplified model of the ice-detector probe by using the finite-element analysis method in order to evaluate the modal parameters. Based on the introduction of the principle of modal-testing method and testing-system, more precise testing of the real detector structure was done by this method, which proved the validity of finite-element analysis results and the reasonableness of the probe structure. Moreover,the adjustment of the resonance circuit depended on the results and the efficiency increased. Further, the temperature characteristics of the vibrating-tube were analyzed which provided data for the temperature compensation of the detector.

Abstract:The rough temperature drift of a high pressure eddy current sensor restrains its measurement precision. Therefore, compensation for the drift should be given; the main reason for the temperature drift is theoretically analyzed which lies in the temperature coefficient of the coil resistance, and then a new compensation method utilizing non-inductive winding is presented and illustrated in an example; the experimental results show that the sensor obtains good compensation effects under 20-90°C, and the temperature stability reaches 0. 7%. Therefore, the compensation methods is simple, effective and low cost, and can be extensively used in other types of eddy current sensors.

Abstract:The InGaAs Short-wave infrared detector is a temperature-sensitive device. Accurate temperature control can effectively reduce the background signal and improve detection accuracy, detection sensitivity, and the SNR of the detection system. Firstly, the relationship between temperature and detection background, NEP is analyzed, the principle of TEC and formula between cooling power, cooling current and hot-cold interface temperature difference are introduced. Then, the high precision constant current drive circuit based on triode voltage control current, and an incremental algorithm model based on deviation tracking compensation and PID control are proposed, which effectively suppresses the temperature overshoot, overcomes the temperature inertia, and has strong robustness. Finally, the detector and temperature control system are tested. Results show that: the lower of detector temperature, the smaller the temperature fluctuation, the higher the detection accuracy and the detection sensitivity. The temperature control system achieves the high temperature control with the temperature control rate is 7 similar to 8 degrees C/min and the temperature fluctuation is better than +/- 0.04 degrees C.

Abstract:This article proposes a compensation method for precision sensors considering historical temperature states, which can significantly reduce the thermal drift of the sensors during rapid temperature change process. A typical differential eddy current sensor (ECS) measuring displacement is used as an example to explain the principle. By analyzing the source of thermal drift of the ECS, it is proved that time history of temperature change will also affect the output of the ECS. In this article, the temperature response characteristics of the sensing head of the ECS are obtained by the lumped capacitance method, and the output of the ECS is compensated by convolution operation. Experimental results show that the temperature coefficient of the ECS during a temperature change process is depressed from 34.62 to 1.64 nm/degrees C with this method, and it is also less than 1/4 of 7.70 nm/degrees C which is obtained with direct compensation using current temperature value. Furthermore, this method is expected to function efficiently for any precision sensor in complex and harsh temperature environments.
Temperature Control System Design of Infrared Detector Based on Bang-Bang and PID Control

Abstract:An infrared detector is the core component of a spaceborne polarimetric detection load, which is used to implement short-wave infrared radiation and obtain the polarization information of photoelectric conversion. A short-wave infrared detector is required to operate at low temperatures to reduce the thermal noise and dark current to achieve better performance. In order to achieve the required working temperature conditions, the detector requires precise temperature control. This study introduces an infrared detector temperature control system regulated by an FPGA to achieve temperature signal acquisition and an output control signal, adopts the method of DAC control of the transistor drive current to drive the semiconductor refrigeration device and adopts the Bang-bang and PID control to achieve precise temperature control. The experimental results show that the temperature control precision is better than ±0.1℃, and the temperature is stable for less than 6 min. This temperature control system has a high-precision temperature control, temperature control speed, and other characteristics, which result in short-wave infrared polarization information measurement with high precision.

Abstract:Considering the temperature drift in measurement,a solution to it was proposed from selecting temperature sensor,measurement method,actual measurement circuit and filtering algorithm;and then the signal amplification and conditioning circuit of two AD623 and the A/D circuit were expounded and a relevant interface circuit was presented.The application proves the system requirements for ±0.1℃ resolution and ±0.2℃ accuracy are satisfied.

Abstract:The infrared temperature sensor has a small thermal inertia, which could be used to measure the temperature of the moving object or the fast changing temperature. It is widely used in modern industry, military and medicine. Planck’s law points out that the infrared temperature measurement is based on the infrared radiation of normal radiation as a standard measure. However, due to the actual measurement environment and cost constraint, there usually exits a changed incident angle between infrared sensor and measured object in the case of actual infrared measurement. A compensation algorithm of incident angle on temperature measurement is the focus of this paper. Facing the surface temperature measurement and cooling system of roller in aluminum plate manufacturing process, the paper put forward and designed a real-time temperature measurement scheme based on infrared sensor. Through experimental study and data analysis, the paper has explored the influence law of the incident angle in the infrared temperature measurement of the surface. Inthemeantime, because this article selects the strong reflective body as the research sample, and selects the low-temperature as the temperature measurement, so the research should overcome the interference of the physical properties of strong reflective sample and the complex nature of low temperature inaccurately measured. Though summing up the research achievements, the paper set up an incident Angle compensation algorithm, which is used to solve the influence of the incident angle on the temperature measurement result. The results of this study are of great significance to the application for accurately measure the surface temperature of strong reflector with infrared sensors.

Abstract:Infrared thermal imaging technology plays an important role in evaluating the operating condition of electrical equipment. This article focuses on two critical environmental factors, namely, wind speed and ambient temperature. They interfere with infrared detection and fault diagnosis by affecting the actual temperature of the fault area. In this article, we use the principle of heat transfer to explore the affected conditions and the changing laws of diagnostic indicators. We provide a solution for diagnosing the live equipment fault area after compensating for the infrared temperature. Both the simulation and experimental results show that the method can obtain the temperature of the equipment fault area under different environmental conditions for different electrical equipment failures when they meet the temperature compensation conditions. The method can eliminate the influences of wind speed and ambient temperature on the results of infrared temperature measurement and achieve a unified solution to the problem of multiple types of electrical equipment. This breaks through the barriers of infrared temperature measurement applications limited by the on-site environmental conditions. The proposed method can serve to further improve the existing evaluation standards. The results of the article are useful for troubleshooting equipment and improving the accuracy of the infrared diagnosis of live equipment.

Drift compensation of infrared imaging system using ambient temperature

Abstract:For radiation measurement using infrared imaging systems, gray value drift caused by ambient temperature variation is a significant source of error. By studying the effects of ambient temperature on the output gray value of cooled infrared systems, a drift compensation method is proposed. The sources of gray value drift are analyzed, and the relationship between drift and ambient temperature is derived to establish a theoretical model. A simple drift correction method is proposed. The radiometric calibration experiment is carried out for verification. The results indicate that proposed method can not only improve the measurement accuracy of the infrared imaging system, but also achieve drift compensation under arbitrary integration time, which improves the efficiency of radiometric calibration and measurement.

A Study on Temperature Compensation Structure

Abstract:This paper presents a simple and effective method for compensating thermal deformation of the optical system resulting from off-axis error.After modeling a crude tracking optical system and making temperature analysis of the optical system by using finite element analysis software,a linear temperature field caused by the CCD high temperature is obtained,and the maximum temperature and the minimum temperature of all components are also obtained.Then the temperature field is loaded to the structure analysis.The thermal deformation of all parts of the optical system is obtained.The analysis results show: Despite in the direction of the Z-axis the largest displacement of thermal deformation in the Shell of the optical system reaches 0.116 mm,and the greatest negative displacement reaches-0.104 mm in the temperature field,the Zaxis direction displacements of the units near the Lens are no more than 0.020 mm.the thermal expansion of supporting pieces of the optical components effectively compensate the shell thermal drift.These data show that the thermal compensation method is an effective method and can be used for the actual work.

Abstract:This paper proposes a method of self-temperature compensation for eddy current sensors (ECSs) during rapid temperature changes. The temperature drift of the sensor impedance caused by the probe coil and target temperature variations was discussed and analyzed. The proposed impedance measurement method can distinguish the temperature drift caused by the sensor coil and the eddy currents in the target, and eliminate both of them in real time. A prototype ECS was manufactured and tested. The temperature coefficients of the probe's inductance and resistance caused by the target and the coil were measured by a designed setup. The results show that the temperature drift of the inductance is mainly caused by the target, and that of the resistance is mainly from the coil itself which is much larger than the inductance's drift. The prototype ECS that uses this new comprehensive self-temperature compensation method achieved an ultra-low temperature drift of 4 nm/degrees(C) without any additional hardware or temperature sensor. It can work effectively even the environment temperature changes as fast as 10 degrees C/h. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract:In order to meet the application requirements of a space borne polarizing radiometer infrared band, a high-precision on-orbit temperature control scheme for the infrared detector combining active temperature control and passive temperature control is proposed. The infrared detector is installed on the heat sink copper block, and the temperature of heat sink copper block is controlled at -20°C~-30°C through the method of auxiliary cold plate + heat pipe thermal conduction. Combined with the infrared detector built-in three-level thermoelectric cooler, the photosensitive surface temperature of the infrared detector is cooled to below -60°C by a method of constant current driving. In order to ensure the measurement accuracy of infrared radiation polarization, the short-term temperature fluctuation of the photosensitive surface of the infrared detector is required to be less than 0.03°C/s. This article has designed the infrared detector temperature control scheme verification test, and actually measured the stability of infrared detector temperature and dark current. The results of the simulation and tests show that the range of infrared detector heat sink temperature is - 25±5°C, the range of infrared detector photosensitive surface temperature is -65°C ～ -75°C,the rate of short-term temperature change of the infrared detector photo-sensitive surface is better than 0.01°C/s, and the dark current fluctuation is less than 1.3pA. Satisfying the on-orbit high-precision polarization measurement requirements.
