Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between window level, window width and density value in post-anterior chest films of Digital Radiography (DR) in order to improve its quality. Methods 400 DR post-anterior chest films were observed. Change of window level,window width and density value of these films were analysed. Results 1, (1) When window level was not changed, window width decreased as density value increased. (2) While window width was raised,density value decreased. 2,As window width was kept invariable, the change of window level was in consist with that of density value. 3, While both window level and window width decreased , density value increased. 4, When window level and window width increased ,density value decreased. 5,As window width increased,both window level and density value decreased. 6,As window width increased,window level as well as density value decreased. Conclusion It is important to recognize the relationship between window level, window width and density value in DR post-anterior chest films in order to improve its quality.
