Abstract:Ortho-chelation assistance was proved to be crucial for the success of the desulfitative Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction of thioamide-type pyridine derivatives and alkynes. Corresponding alkynylated products were obtained with moderate to excellent yields. Thanks to this reaction, furo[3,2-b]pyridine and 1H-pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyridine derivatives were synthesized through a one-pot cross-coupling reaction/heteroannulation sequence.

Abstract:This present study established a novel protocol for sonogashira‐type cross‐coupling of 3‐chalcone‐2‐chloroquinoline with terminal alkynes using copper iodide as a catalyst at room temperature. The excellent efficiency of the various functional groups and the significant reaction conditions make this approach highly relevant for the construction of newer quinoline‐alkynyl hybrids. An efficient and cost‐effective Cu (I) mediated protocol for the C(sp2)–C(sp) cross‐coupling of 3‐chalcone‐2‐chloroquinoline with terminal alkynes has been disclosed by optimizing a wide range of catalysts, ligands, base, and solvents. This approach conveniently assembles various alkynylated hybrids with excellent to moderate yields. Appropriate functional group tolerance and significant mechanistic pathway with mild reaction conditions well‐justified this synthetic transformation more sustainable towards the greener exploration.

Abstract:Herein, we report a protocol for rhodium(III)‐catalyzed aldehydic C(sp 2 )–H acylmethylation reactions of quinoline‐8‐carboxaldehydes using sulfoxonium ylides as carbene precursors to afford 1,3‐diketones, which readily tautomerized to their enol forms. We determined the reaction mechanism by synthesizing the key intermediate, a five‐membered‐ring acylrhodium species.

Abstract:Alkynones are valuable compounds with applications in various areas. In this work, we developed an efficient carbonylation procedure for the carbonylative cross-coupling of aryl thianthrenium salts with aromatic alkynes. Various useful alkynones were produced in moderate to excellent yields under mild conditions. Notably, among the various tolerated functional groups, the bromide group can be maintained, which is ready for further coupling reactions.

Abstract:An electrochemically enabled C(sp3)-C(sp) cross-coupling reaction is herein described for the synthesis of internal alkynes. This method is suitable not only to a diverse of acetylenic sulfones, but also to a wide range of alkyl radical precursors, such as alkyl iodides, N-hydroxyphthalimide esters and Katritzky salts. This reaction can also be applied to vinylation, thioetherification, selenation and hydrogenation reactions. This reaction shows a lot of significant advantages such as mild conditions, broad functional group tolerance, simple operation and convenience of purification and enlargement.
