Abstract:A one-pot [3 + 2] cycloadditive synthesis of benzo[d]isoxazole-4,7-diols in aqueous medium was carried out via nitrile oxides and benzoquinone intermediates by taking advantage of iodobenzene diacetate as an oxidant. This method can also be used to synthesize benzodiisoxazole-4,8-diols, isoxazolo[5,4-a]phenazines, and indazole-4,7-diols, which are difficult to obtain by classical methods.

Abstract:An oxidative [3+1+1] convergent domino cyclization is disclosed. This protocol enables to get quinoline, quinoxaline, quinazolin‐4(3H)‐one and benzo[d]thiazole attached 2,4,5‐trisubstituted oxazoles from methyl azaarenes, benzoins and NH 4 OAc in the presence of iodine and molecular sieves without any metal catalyst. The reaction features wide substrate scope, good functional group tolerance, mild reaction conditions, and easily available substrates.

Abstract:A Hofmann-Loffler-Freytag type cyclization reaction of S-aryl-S-phenylpropyl sulfoximines (and related derivatives) was developed. Using molecular iodine as the initiator under visible light a series of five-membered cyclic products was obtained in moderate to high yields. The approach represents a new strategy for the synthesis of dihydroisothiazole oxides and benzo[d] isothiazoles-1-oxides.

Abstract:An efficient iodine-mediated electrochemical C(sp3)-H cyclization was developed under mild conditions. A variety of functionalized quinazolinone-fused N-heterocycles can be obtained with good to excellent yields by virtue of this method. Abstract:In the presence of iodine, the synthesis of S‐benzoazolyl chromone derivatives via one‐pot manner is reported. Thus, 2‐aminophenol firstly reacted with tetramethylthiuram disulfide (TMTD) to form 2‐mercaptobenzoxazole, and then coupled with 2‐hydroxyphenyl enaminones to obtain S‐benzoazolyl chromones via one‐pot manner. This method features mild conditions, easy operation, environmentally friendliness and wide substrate scopes, illustrating practical application value in organic synthesis.
