Abstract:Sixteen species of Macromotettix Günther were systematically researched in this paper. One species, Macromotettix guangxiensis sp.nov., is described as new to science. An updated key to the species of Macromotettix is presented. The type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Shaanxi Normal University, Xi’an, China (5%4&) and Department of Chemistry and Life Science, Hechi University, China (6%10&).

Abstract:Eleven new species of Chrysotus Meigen are described from southwest China: C. adunatus sp. nov., C. agraulus sp. nov., C. anshunus sp. nov., C. apicicaudatus sp. nov., C. biprojicienus sp. nov., C. fanjingshanus sp. nov., C. fuscitibialis sp. nov., C. laxifacialus sp. nov., C. pallidus sp. nov., C. trapezinus sp. nov. and C. xinanus sp. nov. which belong to the redefined Chrysotus laesus species-group. Abstract:Previously only two species of Chrysotus were known to occur in Guangxi of China. Here a revision of the genus from Guangxi is presented. Eight species are herein reported. The following three species are described as new to science: Chrysotus guangxiensis sp. nov., Chrysotus triprojicienus sp. nov. and Chrysotus xiaominae sp. nov. Three species are recorded from Guangxi for the first time: Chrysotus biprojicienus Wei et Zhang, Chrysotus shanxiensis Liu et Yang, and Chrysotus motuoensis Liu et Yang. A key to the species of Chrysotus from Guangxi of China is provided. The relationship of the two genera Dubius and Chrysotus is discuss.

Abstract:A key to the species of the genus Gryllotalpa from China is given.A new species,G.mabiana sp.nov.,is described.The new species is similar to G.pygmaea found in Nepal,from which it may be distinguished by radius undivided distally,stridulatory area shaped as triangle,and lateral tip of transversal sclerite of epiphallus acute.G.mabiana sp.nov.is also similar to G.henana,but can be distinguished by:the fore wing reaching beyond the fifth tergite,hind wing reaching posterior margin of forth tergite;pronotum without cordate sculptural marks;parameres as hook-shaped.

Abstract:The genus Compterosmittia S ae ther, 1981 from China is reviewed. Three new species, C. duodecima sp. n., C. lii sp. n. and C. procera sp. n. are described as adult males. C. nerius (Curran, 1930), C. oyabelurida (Sasa, Kawai et Ueno, 1988) and C. togalimea (Sasa et Okazawa, 1992) are recorded from China for the first time and annotated; as a result the diagnosis for the genus is emended. A key to adult males of all known Compterosmittia is also presented.

Abstract:The genus Termioptycha Meyrick, 1889 from China is reviewed. Among the ten species studied, T. longiclavata sp. nov., T. longispina sp. nov., T. nigrimacularis sp. nov. and T. cornutitrifurca sp. nov. are described as new; T. conjuncta(Warren, 1896), comb. rev. is re-allocated in this genus from Salma Walker, 1863; and T. conjuncta and T. eucarta(Felder & Rogenhofer, 1875) are newly recorded in China. Photographs of adults and genitalia are provided. A key to the ten species in China based on male genitalia is provided.

Abstract:This paper presents a historical review of taxonomic research on the superfamilies Dolichocyboidea, Pygmephoroidea, Scutacaroidea and Trochometridioidea in China, with a discussion of the valid status of Luciaphorus auriculariae, and a checklist of 49 species belonging to 6 families and 17 genera, including 16 species of new records for China. The second part of this paper briefly reviews the studies on the biology and control of the pygmephoroid and scutacaroid mites in China, which include Brennandania lambi, Luciaphorus auriculariae, Pseudopygmephorus quadratus, Siteroptes avenae, S. flechtmanni, S. huangshuiensis, S. qinghaiensis, S. reniformis, S. triticola and S. xizangensis.

Abstract:In the present paper,seven species(including a new species) of the genus Gessius are recognized from China.A new species G.dentatus sp.nov.is described and illustrated.A key to seven Chinese species are given.A generic new synonym Parakrisna Cai et He is proposed.Also a specific synonym is proposed.The type specimen of the new species is kept in the Institute of Entomology,Guizhou University.Gessius dentatus sp.nov.(Figs.1 ～ 8) Body length(incl.tegm.):♂9.8 mm,♀:11.0 mm.This new species resembles G.rufidorsus Wang et Li,but can be distinguished by the male aedeagus with a much longer and narrower preatrium,the distance from the gonopore to the end of the aedeagus is one-quarter as long as the length of aedeagus,apex of subgenital plate straight,ventral process with toothed ventral margin,its apex straight.Holotype:♂,Guizhou Province:Maolan,25-Ⅴ-1998,coll.Wang Lian-min.Paratypes:♀,Guizhou Province:Maolan,23-Ⅹ-1998,coll.Li Zi-zhong.

Abstract:The genus Macquartia Robineau-Desvoidy (Diptera, Tachinidae) with 29 known species is a large group of Macquartiini of Tachininae and widely distributed in the Old World and the Nearctic Region.In this study, Chinese specimens of Macquartia were collected and examined, sixteen species are recognised: thirteen previously described, M. brunneisqua Zhang et Li, M. chinensis Zhang et Li, M. flavifemorata Zhang et Li, M. flavipedicel Zhang et Li, M. chalconota (Meigen), M. dispar (Fallén), M. grisea (Fallén), M. macularis Villeneuve, M. nudigena Mesnil, M. picta (Meigen), M. pubiceps (Zetterstedt), M. tenebricosa (Meigen) and M. viridana Robineau-Desvoidy and three species new to science, M. barkamensis sp. n. (Sichuan), M. setifacies sp. n. (Qinghai) and M. sichuanensis sp. n. (Sichuan). An identification key to the sixteen species of Macquartia known from China is included, along with 80 anatomical figures.
